has been successfully installed on our test site, where we also test this roundo theme.
We will be testing it for a little while and if everything checks out, it will be installed here as soon as we can.
We will keep you updated on what we are testing there, before installing them here. The goodies are on their way...
MyAlerts is the first plugin installed (it's a complicated one) and it installed beautifully. Coming soon to RN3...

Using the Categories on the left |

Navigating the theme, desktop/laptop version. Mobile is a bit different.
This is just a quick summary of how I personally navigate the site, through the Categories on the left.
The first thing I see is that there are gray discussion bubbles and blue discussion bubbles before the sub-boards.
Gray bubbles means no new posts.
A Blue bubble means that there is a new post in that sub-board.
As an example, I took a screenshot right now and this is what I see:
See, there is a blue bubble for the Dark Vault and another for the Rogues Promo spot. Right off the bat, it means there are new replies in both those categories.
Now, if I click on the Dark Vault, as an example, this is what I get:
It's telling me, by the blue bubble, that the new post is in The Rogue-Nation Graphics Lab.
Finally, if I click on The Rogue-Nation Graphics Lab, this is what I get:
Now there are three things to notice here.
1 - The bubble is filled with blue. Means the new post is in this thread.
That is a feature that you will also find useful when you click on the dropdown menu called Posts on top of the theme.
Whether you click View New Posts or View Today's Posts, if you see a blue filled bubble, it means that there is a new reply in that thread.
2 - Highlighted in blue, under the thread name, there is a blue bubble with NEW written inside of it. Clicking on it will bring you to the last reply you've seen.
3 - All the info I need is under the thread title: Who created it, when and who posted the last reply.
This is how I navigate this theme at this moment. I check the bubbles in the Categories, I look for bubbles in View New Posts and View Today's posts.
I click the NEW bubble anytime I want to get to the last reply that I've seen.
Not that complicated afterall, once you know it.
This is the desktop/laptop version. It's different for mobiles but not that much. Blue bubbles are where the new stuff is... :)
Try it. Simple. Easy.

The brightest Gamma Ray burst ever recorded |

Astronomy Picture of the Day - GRB 221009A - large gif image.
Quote:Explanation: Gamma-ray burst GRB 221009A likely signals the birth of a new black hole, formed at the core of a collapsing star long ago in the distant universe. The extremely powerful blast is depicted in this animated gif constructed using data from the Fermi Gamma Ray Space Telescope. Fermi captured the data at gamma-ray energies, detecting photons with over 100 million electron volts. In comparison visible light photons have energies of about 2 electron volts. A steady, high energy gamma-ray glow from the plane of our Milky Way galaxy runs diagonally through the 20 degree wide frame at the left, while the transient gamma-ray flash from GRB 221009A appears at center and then fades. One of the brightest gamma-ray bursts ever detected GRB 221009A is also close as far as gamma-ray bursts go, but still lies about 2 billion light-years away. In low Earth orbit Fermi’s Large Area Telescope recorded gamma-ray photons from the burst for more than 10 hours as high-energy radiation from GRB 221009A swept over planet Earth last Sunday, October 9.

Quote:Social Security Payments Update Coming This Week, and It Could Be Significant
By Jack Phillips
October 10, 2022 Updated: October 10, 2022
https://lists.youmaker.com/links/Z6xMc0w...zjUd71qG1Q
The Social Security Administration is expected to announce its cost-of-living adjustment, or COLA, for Social Security recipients this week—and it could be the largest increase in decades.
Analysts with the Senior Citizens League say the COLA hike will be 8.7 percent to keep pace with year-over-year inflation. Last year, the Social Security Administration announced a 5.9 percent adjustment.
A report (pdf) released by the nonpartisan senior group last month that such an increase “would be the highest ever received by most Social Security beneficiaries alive today.” The official cost-of-living adjustment is usually announced by the Social Security Administration during the month of October.
That calculation is based on the most recent consumer price index data that showed inflation rose 8.3 percent over the past year as of August.
“COLAs are intended to help maintain the buying power of Social Security benefits when prices rise. They are a permanent increase that will gradually boost the total Social Security income that individuals will receive over the course of their retirement,” said the report. “Without a COLA that adequately keeps pace with inflation, Social Security benefits purchase less and less over time, and that can create hardships especially as older Americans live longer lives in retirement.”
Retirees now get a monthly benefit of about $1,656, but the possible COLA adjustment would increase that sum by about $144.10, the Senior Citizens League estimated in its report.
Taxes
But the relatively high COLA could also place some retirees over an income threshold that forces them to pay income taxes.
Mary Johnson, with the Senior Citizens League, told Fox News in July that “there can be some very long-term effects to high inflation COLAs,” adding, “It’s like a no-win situation.”
Higher monthly Social Security payments can also reduce senior citizens’ ability to obtain low-income programs such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or food stamps, Johnson told the outlet. They also might be disqualified from adjusted Medicare health and prescription drug benefits for low-income individuals, she said.
“These are income-based programs,” Johnson told USA Today. “Most, if not all of them, are easily administered through the states. If we’re forecasting a COLA that’s close to 9 or 10 percent, yes of course that’s going to affect, not only your eligibility for low-income benefits, it’s going to for everyone else, for people who don’t get benefits.”
There are “tens of thousands” of retirees, she said, who haven’t ever paid taxes on their Social Security benefits and may have to start doing so for their upcoming taxes due to the pending COLA increase.

I am making this thread because I just want to vent. There is absolutely no substance behind this post, nothing with teeth, nothing to hold on to.
A thread where I can throw stuff out there, just to get it off me chest, so I don't feel like I am talking to myself.
Making this a place of refuge until the Shoutbox is back up and running.

Since this:
That was the very first post on RN3, back in 2016.
The family has grown since then.
The Admins family has grown, the Mods & SuperMods family as well. Over 300 members was something none of us thought possible when we started out this community. I remember Guohua saying that we never should become as big as some other joints out there that are in the same line of discussion boards as we are. Better smaller, but cozier. Better smaller, but friendlier. Better smaller, but freer.
The format has changed over the years (this is the fourth one) but the spirit remains.
Rogue-Nation is more than just a format, or a theme, or a discussion board. It's freedom. Written in many different ways, shown artistically through different images, avatars and banners. It's freedom.
Freedom to choose the topic we wish to discuss, without repercussions. Freedom to denounce what we see as wrong, deceitful and agenda driven. Freedom to call the MSM a spade.
Freedom to express ourselves without having others judge us or laugh at us or shit on us.
Freedom.
That is what Rogue-Nation is. Since 2016. Guohua may have left the building, but her spirit remains.
Thank you for being there because, without you, then Rogue-Nation is just that; a format, a theme and a board.
To the future!
