'Chicago police release video of suspect beating female officer'

'The woman's commanding officer said she feared for her life but did not use
her gun because of the scrutiny that might follow.

Chicago police have released video of a suspect beating a female officer after
she decided not to shoot him.

She was apparently reluctant to pull the trigger over fears of a potential backlash
against her and the police department.

The officer was attacked after Parta Huff, 28, crashed his vehicle into a liquor store.
Witnesses said Huff was "out of it" and when officers arrived he was combative and
resisted arrest.

In the video he is seen throwing the female officer to the ground and punching her
several times. The officer was concussed and suffered injuries to her face, shoulder
and neck, according to reports.

Police say Huff tested positive for Phencyclidine or PCP, which is also known a
 Angel Dust and can give users a feeling of great strength and invulnerability.'



'Superintendent Eddie Johnson told WGN TV News the officer did not shoot Huff
because she was afraid of the "scrutiny" that might follow.
"This attack went on for several minutes," Mr Johnson said.

"As I was at the hospital last night visiting with her, she looked at me and said she
thought she was going to die and she knew that she should shoot this guy.
"But she chose not to because she didn't want her family or the department to have
to go through the scrutiny the next day on the national news."...'

Kevin Shipp was a decorated CIA officer who refused to look the other way in regard to government criminality and cover-up. Ok, I am going out on a limb here.  This is something I have often sought about and decided to do some research on it to see if what I thought was true - ok, I just went to Wikipedia, but hey the facts are undeniable.

In my formative years I was always aware of there being cop shows on tv, a lot!  I enjoyed watching some of them at the time, and thought they were well made, but now I wonder was there an ulterior motive for them?  Were they being used to either scare people watching, so that they would allow police to do what they needed to keep everyone safe?  

So I had a look to see what shows were made (now remember these do not list all the Cops, BadBoys etc stuff that was made much later), these are fictional series, and there are a lot of them - I have just left the name of the show and the years aired, there is a short description of each series n the wikipedia article if people want to look.

What surprises me is that for the last 70 years there has been at least one cop show running nearly every single year, and in some cases, as soon as one series ended, another one started the same year.  Looking at the dates is very illuminating.  This is the same for both US and UK - I will let you peruse the dates yourself.  Now maybe I am reading too much into this, but then again, maybe I am not reading enough into it.
