Quote:Mexican town's police force detained after murder of mayoral candidate.

Two mayoral candidates were shot dead in less than 24 hours in violence during the
run up to Mexico's 1 July elections.

'The entire police force for a Mexican town has been arrested on suspicion of involvement
in the murder of a mayoral candidate. Twenty eight officers in Ocampo, Michoacan, in western
Mexico have been taken in for questioning by the police’s internal affairs department.

The probe focused on potential violations of the police code of conduct, according to an official
statement, which did not give any more details.

"All of them are being interviewed to proceed as due under law in the event anyone has taken
part in acts that violate the town's codes," said the security secretariat.

Mayoral candidate Fernando Angeles was shot dead on Thursday.
He was standing for the centre-left Party of the Democratic Revolution in the city, which is home
to 24,000 people. Less than 24 hours before, Omar Gomez, an independent candidate for mayor
of Aguililla, also in Michoacan, was fatally shot.

Ahead of the 1 July elections, more than a hundred politicians and candidates have been murdered.

The electorate will be voting for a new president, as well as for federal, state and municipal posts...'

  New Golf Shoes

Quote:Bert, at 85 years old, always wanted a pair of soft spike golf shoes that he saw Freddie Couples wearing, so seeing some on sale after his round of golf, he bought them.
He was so delighted with his purchase he decided to wear them home to show the Mrs.
Walking proudly into the house, he sauntered into the kitchen and said to his wife, "Notice anything different about me?"
Margaret, at age 83, looked him over and replied, "Nope."
Frustrated as all get out, Bert stormed off into the bathroom, undressed and walked back into the kitchen completely naked except for the new golf shoes. Again he asked Margaret, a little louder this time, "Notice anything different NOW?"
Margaret looked up and said in her best deadpan response, "Bert, what's different? It's hanging down today, it was hanging down yesterday, and it'll be hanging down again tomorrow."
Furious, Bert yells out, "AND DO YOU KNOW WHY IT'S HANGING DOWN, MARGARET?"
"Nope. Not a clue," she replied.
“IT'S HANGING DOWN, BECAUSE IT'S LOOKING AT MY NEW GOLF SHOES!”

Margaret replied, "You should have bought a new hat!"

  Another Surpressed Cancer Cure
Posted by: Mystic Wanderer - 06-25-2018, 12:47 AM - Forum: Physical Health - Replies (3)

Vitamin B-17 has been proven in human studies to cure cancer, yet Big Petroleum/Big Pharma have hindered these findings from reaching the public.  Listen to G Edward Griffin tell his story of how he and his associate accidentally learned about this.

I know from having several friends die from cancer that the treatment being used might get rid of the cancer, but it weakens the immune system to the point of not being able to fight off any other bacteria/virus, etc. This is usually what ends up killing the patient after treatments.  Not so with "natural" cures.

Which treatment would you choose?

Supreme Court Issues Trump The Power To Fire Thousands Of Judges
Posted by: Mystic Wanderer - 06-24-2018, 05:35 PM - Forum: Political News and more - Replies (1)

Here we go... maybe now he can start draining the swamp without the obstruction of the far left judges.

I really think after all the mess is cleaned up, the left will have no choice but to thank Pres. Trump for saving us from the evil that was about to take over our country.  They don't see it now because of all the propaganda that has brainwashed their thoughts, but they will when it's all brought to light what's been going on behind closed doors. The amount of evil is so... evil, that some won't be able to swallow it right away, so we have to help them. Their world is about to be turned upside down.

Quote:[Image: donald-trump-climate-.jpg]

Perhaps the biggest roadblock to Trump’s MAGA agenda has been radical, liberal judges. These men and women, appointed by previous presidents and other powers, have interfered with President Trump’s lawful authority.

But that’s all about to change.
Judges are supposed to be impartial. They have a solemn duty to uphold our laws. Decisions made by judges can decide the fate of not just one person, but millions. Judges that preside over federal issues can very well affect the lives of every last American.

We’ve seen how radical judges can harm our country. Obama-appointed judges have overstepped their bounds by attacking Trump’s lawful executive orders. They have allowed their personal, political views to violate their responsibilities.

Not only that, but certain groups within our government have been appointing judges—without the approval of the president. This is clearly a violation of the Constitution. Thankfully, the Supreme Court felt so too. Now many questionable judges are about to get their walking papers.

'Two people are dead after a shooting in Etobicoke early Sunday, police and paramedics say.
The two were pronounced dead at the scene on Lightwood Drive, near Kipling Avenue and Albion Drive,
according to Sandra McLeod, deputy commander for Toronto Paramedic Services.

Both people had suffered gunshot wounds, she said. Paramedics were called to the scene at 2:12 a.m.
The ages and sexes of the victims have not been released.

Horrifying video shows a man standing unaware as a gun is pointed at his head
Would-be shooter is foiled when his gun fails to discharge and he walks away
The gunman and his friend, also armed, are then seen chasing another man
A second victim, a 42-year-old man, is shot inside an apartment building
The shooters have not been identified and their motive is still unknown

'A man's narrow escape from a gunman, who went on to shoot someone else, has been caught in hair-raising footage.
Just after midnight, the unidentified man is seen standing on a Toronto street corner, dressed in a robe and head
covering and smoking a cigarette.

Unbeknownst to him, another man, dressed in white pants and a white hooded top, is approaching from behind,
holding a gun. Street camera footage shows the second man hold the gun up at the first man's head and pull the trigger.
Had the gun fired, he would have been dead.

[Image: attachment.php?aid=3996][Image: attachment.php?aid=3997]

Luckily, the gun did not discharge. As the first man turned around, finally aware something was amiss, the second man
quickly hid the gun and calmly walked away with his friend, who also wore a hood to cover his face.

Less than 10 minutes later, a 42-year-old man was standing near the entrance of a store when the two men walked past.
Both men, who appear to be masked, pull their guns on the 42-year-old, who sprints away in fear.

The two men are seen on camera chasing him towards an apartment building, the man in white determined to keep going
even as his friend appears to try and signal to him to stop.
The 42-year-old is seen dashing in to the lobby of an apartment building with the man in white just inches away from him.

As the fleeing man runs inside, the man in white fires his gun, hitting the man.
He was rushed to hospital and treated for a gunshot wound, but his shooters are still on the run.
There does not appear to be a motive for the shooting, but police are investigating the identities of the gunmen.

A spokeswoman for Toronto Police told DailyMail.com the men had not been apprehended.
Just days later, four men aged 18-22 were arrested on 92 charges after a petrifying car chase.
The men were seen wearing items that appear to have been used to disguise their identity, and had two loaded guns
with them...'

Why Having Strong Teeth is Important.
Posted by: BIAD - 06-24-2018, 03:30 PM - Forum: General News and Events - Replies (1)

Quote:Army veteran decapitated his mom using a butter knife and his teeth, deputy says in court.

'WIGGINS :
Terrelle Johnson confessed to killing his mother the morning after her decapitated body was found June 6
n their backyard in Stone County, a sheriff's deputy testified at a preliminary hearing Wednesday afternoon.

Justice Court Judge Justin Miles decided after the testimony of sheriff's Capt. Ray Boggs that enough evidence
existed to send the case to a grand jury, which will decide whether Johnson should be formally charged with
first-degree murder and tried in Circuit Court.

Terrelle Johnson.

Boggs took the stand as Johnson, 29, sat with his head hung beside his attorney, Jim Davis of Gulfport, during
the brief hearing.

Boggs knew Johnson because the sheriff's office had been called an unspecified number of times to the tidy brick
home on Johnson Road, where Johnson lived with his mother, 51-year-old Sherry Johnson.
She worked as a guidance counselor at Hattiesburg High School.

Boggs said he went to the house for a "welfare" check -a law enforcement term for checking to make sure someone
is OK -at the request of Sherry Johnson's two brothers and sister, who had not heard from her since late on June 3,
a Sunday. Terrelle Johnson said she was away on a cruise, but they did not believe him.

When he arrived at the house, Boggs said, Terrelle Johnson was sitting on the front porch. He insisted his mother was
OK and had gone somewhere with a friend, but Boggs asked if he could look inside.
Johnson took Boggs and two other deputies into the house.

"When I entered the bedroom," Boggs said, "I immediately noticed blood everywhere." He said the walls and bed were
covered in blood.
Sherry Johnson's headless body lay in the backyard.

Boggs said he did not see the head at first, but it was located about 15 feet from her body. Deputies arrested Johnson
and crime scene investigators worked into the next morning to process the crime scene.

When that was done, they interviewed Johnson. He confessed on audiotape to killing his mother, Boggs said.
Johnson said that he and his mother got into an argument over credit cards. He said he tried to walk away, but the
argument
escalated into a fight.
"He told me that he beat her up real bad," Boggs testified. " . . . He said it got out of hand."

Johnson said he then choked his mother until she stopped breathing. He decapitated her with a butter knife,
he said, also
using his hands and teeth to remove her head.
He said he took her body to the backyard so the house would not smell bad.

Davis indicated after the hearing that it is too early to say whether he will use an insanity defense for Johnson.
He questioned Boggs about Johnson's previous mental commitments. Boggs said his understanding was that the
Department
of Veterans Affairs had expelled Johnson after a previous arrest.

Davis said after the hearing that it will take time to acquire Johnson's hospital records.
"I've handled numerous insanity cases," Davis said, indicating that he had won one or two.
"Trust me, jurors don't like them, so you better have a very strong one."

Davis said the decapitation concerns him the most. "I think there's a why behind that," he said.
"I think trying to determine the why is very important."

Davis said Johnson had held temporary labor jobs, but had not been steadily employed as an adult.
As a young man, he served in
the U.S. Army and attended community college, a relative told the Sun Herald.
His father, the Rev. Rob Harris, sat on the front row
during the hearing but did not want to comment on the case.
He and Sherry Johnson had their son when they were young but never married, he said.

Harris recently retired as the head maintenance man for Stone County and is a Baptist minister, he said.
Outside the courtroom, a friend of the family said Sherry Johnson had tried over the years to help her son.

Davis told Johnson when they met before the hearing at the jail not to say anything to the media on the way into
court, but, as he passed
the Sun Herald and TV station camera's, Johnson called out, "I done it."...'
The Sun Herald:

'...Davis indicated after the hearing that it is too early to say whether he will use an insanity defence for Johnson...'
I'd suggest there's some merit to use it!!

  German Explosion.
Posted by: BIAD - 06-24-2018, 02:44 PM - Forum: General News and Events - Replies (3)

Maybe something, maybe nothing. But the Police won't comment.

Quote:GERMANY EXPLOSION: At least 25 injured in blast sparking multiple fires.

'An explosion destroyed an apartment building in Germany during the night leaving 25 people injured
with firefighters still trying to get the blaze under control.

Among the casualties, four people have been described as severely injured by German authorities and
were taken to hospital. The explosion rocked a building in Wuppertal, a western city in Germany, shortly
before midnight on Saturday.

Following the blast, several fires broke out in different parts of the building.
Firefighters were still attempting to tackle the blaze on Monday morning, but their efforts kept being frustrated
by parts of the building that continued to collapse.

Witnesses reported hearing a large noise that scared them and those living in surrounding homes, leading
many to ran out into the street in panic.
But some residents remained trapped inside the collapsing building and were only later rescued by firefighters.

A police spokesman said: "It can currently not be ruled out that there are still other people in the building.
"The rescue efforts are ongoing."

But later on Sunday morning authorities confirmed the evacuation had been completed, also thanks to search dogs.
A fire department spokesman said: "Now that human rescue has been completed, we're trying to keep the situation
around the building stable."

The Wuppertal police also spoke of a "picture of devastation", as large parts of the building's facade crumbled onto
the street showing the interior of some apartments ruined by the blast and the blaze.
And the attic and the top three floors were left almost completely destroyed by.

Specialist engineers were stabilizing the partially collapsed apartments to prevent it from completely falling.

Harrowing photos show a gaping hole in the row of apartments and piles of rubbles around the building.
The explosion prompted a police investigation to look into what caused it.
A policeman told local news website DW: "How this came to pass and what the background is, that remains
completely unclear."

When asked whether the explosion was terror-related, police said they would not comment....'

This Magical Tree Produces 40 Different Types of Fruit
Posted by: 727Sky - 06-24-2018, 12:23 PM - Forum: Daily Chit Chat - Replies (2)

https://www.sciencealert.com/40-types-of...-aken-2018

Quote:A living work of art.

SCIENCEALERT STAFF
22 JUN 2018
Sam Van Aken grew up on a family farm before pursuing a career as an artist. Now he works as an art professor at Syracuse University, but his most famous achievement - the incredible Tree of 40 Fruit - combines his knowledge of agriculture and art.

In 2008, Van Aken learned that an orchard at the New York State Agricultural Experiment Station was about to be shut down due to a lack of funding. This single orchard grew a great number of heirloom, antique, and native varieties of stone fruit, and some of these were 150 to 200 years old.
To lose this orchard would render many of these rare and old varieties of fruit extinct. So, to preserve them, Van Aken bought the orchard, and spent the following years figuring out how to graft parts of the trees onto a single fruit tree.
Working with a pool of over 250 varieties of stone fruit, Van Aken developed a timeline of when each of them blossom in relationship to each other and started grafting a few onto a working tree's root structure.
Once the working tree was about two years old, Van Aken used a technique called chip grafting to add more varieties on as separate branches. This technique involves taking a sliver off a fruit tree that includes the bud, and inserting that into an incision in the working tree.
[Image: Tree_of_40_Fruit_-_tree_071_diagram.jpg]
Artist's diagram of the grafted tree (Sam Van Aken courtesy Ronald Feldman Fine Art)
It's then taped into place, and left to sit and heal over winter. If all goes well, the branch will be pruned back to encourage it to grow as a normal branch on the working tree.
After about five years and several grafted branches, Van Aken's first Tree of 40 Fruit was complete.
It actually looks like a normal tree for most of the year, but in spring the plant reveals a gorgeous patchwork of pink, white, red and purple blossoms, which turn into an array of plums, peaches, apricots, nectarines, cherries and almonds during the summer months, all of which are rare and unique varieties.
A young Tree of 40 Fruit in a public space (Krista Kennedy/Flickr/CC BY-NC-SA 2.0)
Not only is it a beautiful specimen, but it's also helping to preserve the diversity of the world's stone fruit. Stone fruits are selected for commercial growing based first and foremost on how long they keep, then how large they grow, then how they look, and lastly how they taste.
This means that there are thousands of stone fruit varieties in the world, but only a select few are considered commercially viable - even if they aren't the best tasting, or most nutritious ones.

According to listings on Van Aken's website, there are at least 20 such trees planted by Van Aken so far, and they can be found in museums, community centres, and private art collections around the US.
Of course, the obvious question that remains is what happens to all the fruit that gets harvested from these trees? As Van Aken told Lauren Salkeld at Epicurious in 2014:
Quote:"I've been told by people that have [a tree] at their home that it provides the perfect amount and perfect variety of fruit. So rather than having one variety that produces more than you know what to do with, it provides good amounts of each of the 40 varieties.
"Since all of these fruit ripen at different times, from July through October, you also aren't inundated."
You can learn more about these trees and read the rest of the interview here.
A version of this article was originally published in September 2014.
