Shocked Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf’s Home Covered in Defund the Police Graffiti
Posted by: xuenchen - 07-22-2020, 07:03 PM - Forum: Political News and more - Replies (2)

Oh here they go again !

Now we see an obvious staged set of "events" that seem to make a Democrat Mayor to be a victim ! tinylaughing

Victim no. Scripted BS yes.

Other Mayors have cast similar illusions in a coordinated effort to make "People" believe the Democrats are somehow against the violent rioting plaguing dozens of Democrat cities !

Most if not all Cities are actually micro-managing the police responses to allow destruction and pathetic staged setups like this latest one. tinyangry

Seattle had a similar event a few weeks ago.

Other Cities ditto.

BTW, this Oakland Mayor is the same one that tipped off illegal aliens last year so they could avoid ICE raids

They make it look so pathetic and victimated

Quote:Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf’s (D) house was found vandalized early Tuesday morning with messages supportive of the “defund the police” movement, prompting an investigation by Oakland Police Department detectives.

Photos shared to social media show slogans such as “Defund OPD,” and “cancel rent,” were spray-painted in red on a garage door.

“This crosses the line, because it’s someone’s house and property,” neighbor Alexandra Wright, 15, told KCBS Radio. “It’s not exactly okay. It’s not okay on any level.”

Wright’s mother questioned the protesters’ tactics, saying: “I get that people are upset. I’m upset, too. What’s your goal?”

  I ran over our dog.
Posted by: Bally002 - 07-22-2020, 11:32 AM - Forum: Pets Place - Replies (36)

Hello all,  feeling sad.

Yes, I ran over one of our pet dogs this afternoon.

Before the circumstances I'll share a bit of background of this beautiful dog.  We have 4 dogs.  2 small poodles, charlie and rusty (one eye) and our 2 larger dogs.  One larger dog is a Dal cross, I call 'boof head' (real name bella) and our newest babe was 'polar'.  Now about 2.5 years old.  I nicknamed her girlie.  Polar is a very pretty dog being a Swiss Shepard crossed with a lab retriever.  A larger dog approaching 40 kg's after we had her de-sexed.  She is pure white and the most intelligent.  Having retriever in her blood I guess lends her attention to dropping balls, sticks and whatever at our feet.  Loves playing 'kick a ball' where while we are walking about the property she drops a ball at our feet which is in turn kicked and of course returned.  The game repeats itself.

So we have had our puppy dogs living with us from nearly 3 years to 12 years.  Charlie oldest, Polar youngest.  Lost an old mate to a snake a couple of years ago. That dog was 12 to 13.  Busted my heart.  Adopted him from the pound in Darwin.

Well the dogs have their places.  Sleep where ever.  At night the 2 poodles sleep on the foot of the bed and the 2 larger dogs take up position either side on the floor.  All very affectionate and loving.  Can tell they would guard us with their lives.

We have a larger property and the dogs wait eagerly for us or true love herself coming home from work each day.  I spend most of the day at home cutting wood. They greet the car or truck running around and across the paddock excitedly.

Well today, true love and I went to do our small bit of morning work in the village followed by a wood delivery in the truck to another village.  We then went into town, did some chores, picked the young fella up from school and returned the 50 kilometres home.   Not to be unexpected the dogs had broken out of the house (polar has worked out how to open sliding doors) and greeted us along the near kilometre winding driveway.  We took a break and gave them some treats and we had a drink  before reloading the truck.  This evening my last chore was to hitch the large recycling bin up and go down the winding driveway and place it on the main road.  The 2 poodles and boof head jumped into the rear of the cab.  True love sat next to me.  Polar or 'girlie' doesn't like riding inside and is quite content to run alongside.  We got to the bottom of the property, hit the main road, dropped the off and turned around.

On the return drive back to the house uphill, I put some pressure on the pedal due to the load of timber in the rear.  We have a 90 degree bend at one point in the driveway.  Trees on the left and a slope on the right.  As I negotiated this bend, 'true love' said, "Darl!"  Too late.  I heard a thump and that awful sound of a dog squealing.  I pulled up and we both got out.  Poor girlie.  Lying on the side of the driveway bleeding and obviously in pain.  I checked her over.  Both rear legs tender and cut and a large split in her guts.  God...  I lifted her up and placed her in the rear of the cab.  Took her up to the house.  True love rang the vet.  Our youngest bloke was beside himself. (his dog)  Sorry but we left him with the other dogs and drove the 50 kilometres to the vet.

My oldest son met us there and thank goodness he is a large bloke.  He was able to lift her gently out and carry girlie into the op theater.

It was reassuring to see the vet and a team there.  Girlie was sore and shivering.  Explained to the vet what happened.  The rear of the truck was fully loaded with timber when it ran over her.  The vet and team said they would take care of her.  Of course we had to leave her there and take the return trip home.  The vet rang and said they are operating tonight as I put these words out.  Prognosis is good.

It is now 8.30pm here.

When your dogs love you unconditionally, you love them back.  I hated seeing girlie in pain.  Such a loving dog.

My regards,

Bally:(

China says U.S. told it to shut its Houston consulate
Posted by: 727Sky - 07-22-2020, 10:57 AM - Forum: Asian Affairs - Replies (12)

I read a story that the consulate was doing an outdoor burning of records in Houston. It must have been a big deal because the fire department was called !! Now I know why..
https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-c...SKCN24N0UW

Quote:BEIJING (Reuters) - China said on Wednesday the United States had abruptly told it to close its consulate in the city of Houston, a move that Beijing said it strongly condemns, threatening retaliation.

The United States gave the Chinese side a deadline of three days to close the mission in the Texas city, the Chinese foreign ministry said.
Relations between the United States and China have deteriorated significantly since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus in the Chinese city of Wuhan at the beginning of the year.
“The unilateral closure of China’s consulate general in Houston within a short period of time is an unprecedented escalation of its recent actions against China,” Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin told a regular news briefing.

“We urge the U.S. to immediately revoke this erroneous decision. Should it insist on going down this wrong path, China will react with firm countermeasures,” he said.
He also said the consulate was operating normally but did not reply to questions about U.S. media reports in Houston on Tuesday night that documents were being burned in a courtyard at the consulate.
"It appears to be open burning in a container within the courtyard of the Chinese consulate facility. It does not appear to be an unconfined fire but we have not been allowed access," Houston fire department chief Samuel Pena was quoted as saying by KTRK abc13.co/30z3AGP,
an ABC television affiliate.

“We are standing by and monitoring.”
Houston police told FOX 26 bit.ly/3jtalTe that staff there were burning documents because they are being evicted from the building on Friday afternoon.
The two countries have clashed recently over trade, technology, a national security law imposed on Hong Kong and China’s claims in the South China Sea.
Also on Tuesday, the U.S. Justice Department indicted two Chinese nationals for a decade-long cyber espionage campaign in which they were accused of stealing information on weapons designs, drug information, software source code and personal data.

THE PLANK - Classic '70's British Comedy Short
Posted by: gordi - 07-22-2020, 10:43 AM - Forum: Humor, Jokes & Pranks - Replies (2)

I remember watching this MANY years ago and howling with laughter at it!
So, when I came across it again today, I just HAD to share it.

It is a classic British comedy short film from 1979 called The PLANK.
(It's actually a remake of the original 1967 version, but this one is shorter and slightly sharper IMHO)
The main plot line is about two builders trying to get a plank of wood from the builders yard to finish off a floor that they're working on, but you wouldn't believe how many scrapes and adventures can happen on the short journey from yard to job!

Only 27mins long, It's absolutely CRAMMED full of 1970's British A-List actors but with almost no dialogue, it builds on the situational humour of the great silent movies of old.

It looks very dated now, but I hope you guys can enjoy it as much as I did!

Photo This poem is dedicated to Captain Chaos.
Posted by: Errollorre - 07-22-2020, 01:33 AM - Forum: Poetry - No Replies

I didn't write this poem about Captain Chaos.
But seeing his avatar reminded me of a humorous (at least in my mind) poem I wrote a few years back.

I used the same picture to illustrate the character in the poem.
Perhaps this poetic tale will make you smile.
If not for the weird humor, at least in pity for my poor soul.

So here it is, a poem I call:

The Sad Party Clown
---------------

The sad eyed clown,
at the little girl’s party,
cried all day,
instead of acting hardy.

His sadness spread.
Onto the children it fell.
The girl’s mother said,
“This party's not going well!”

The clown then shaped balloons,
into animals ill.
Then it sang the blues,
in a voice that was shrill.

Then he told them stories.
With much gloom he spake.
Then he coughed and he wheezed,
and he sneezed onto the cake!

One by one the parents,
took their children home.
Until the little girl at last,
was at her party alone.

The clown announced “I have a great surprise!”
Then he tore off his clothes,
which was only a disguise.

Then parent and child,
stood there with eyes wide.
For underneath the clowns disguise,
was the same clown that cried.

Fox News personalities accused of sexual misconduct in lawsuit
Posted by: Mystic Wanderer - 07-21-2020, 08:12 PM - Forum: General News and Events - Replies (1)

Hmm... what perfect timing, eh?

Tucker Carlson is also under fire from NYT magazine. They are about to release an article doxing where he lives. He already had to move from his last residence because he was doxed and people came to his home and terrorized his wife and children.
The Radical Left are heartless and dangerous people! He should sue NYT for harassment!

Being that Tucker has the highest ratings in the MSM right now, and he doesn't care to call it like it is, the Left needs to get him out of there. He is destroying their lying narrative. Can't have that right here at the election.

Sean would be the next best on Fox News, so he has to go too.
I'm not familiar with the other man, but according to what I've heard reported, he can prove his relationship was consensual.

I have no doubt this is just another lying smear campaign from the Left on the strongest voices that goes against their narrative. It's a shame that they go so far to destroy a person's life with such lies, but that's what they have become.

Quote:Two women have sued Fox News over claims that its most popular on-air talents sexually harassed them.
Jennifer Eckhart, a former associate producer on Fox Business, and Cathy Areu, a network guest, filed a lawsuit in federal court on Monday accusing Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity, Howard Kurtz, Gianno Caldwell, and Ed Henry, who was fired earlier this month, of sexual misconduct ranging from inappropriate comments to rape.

In the suit, Eckhart accused Henry, who was fired after the network said it received a sexual misconduct complaint, of having "preyed upon, manipulated and groomed [her] starting at the young age of 24, by exerting his abuse of power over her and her career."

"Ms. Eckhart’s counsel also explained to Fox News, in graphic and specific detail, that Ms. Eckhart was violently raped while helpless and restrained in metal handcuffs, as Mr. Henry preformed sadistic acts on her without her consent that left her injured, bruised and battered with bloody wrists," the lawsuit said.

It went on to claim that Henry took naked photos of her restrained without her consent "as an intimidation tactic to silence her, and to be filed away and retained for purposes of blackmail that could destroy her career."

Eckhart retained legal counsel in connection to her claims about Henry on June 25, days before he was fired. The suit claimed that the network neglected to discipline Henry when it first found out about allegations of inappropriate behavior and instead only fired him when it "realized that it was on the precipice of a public relations nightmare and wanted to get out ahead of this suit and be able to claim that it had done the right thing."

Fox News pushed back on the accusation in a statement to the Washington Examiner, saying, "There were not sexual harassment claims against Ed Henry at Fox News prior to Jennifer Eckhart’s claim on June 25, 2020."

“I stand for all victims who have been mistreated, harassed, assaulted, and even worse, at the hands of those in power, and the institutions that continue to support them," Eckhart said in a statement.
"My decision to speak out was not an easy one, but I refuse to let fear of retaliation, victim shaming and further attacks intimidate me into remaining silent. I am hopeful that my decision to file this action will result in positive change for women at Fox, and for all victims in the workplace, and I am honored that other women have come forward since my decision to do so."

Areu also said she was harassed by Henry, who repeatedly sent her explicit messages and offered to help her career if she were to indulge his advances.

She also accused Hannity of encouraging any man in the studio to take her out on a date and offering them $100. The offer was allegedly made on March 8, 2018, which was her late time on the show. Areu further accused Carlson and Kurtz of trying to get her to go to their hotel rooms in 2018 and 2019, respectively. She also said Caldwell tried to initiate a romantic relationship despite her repeated attempts to keep the relationship professional.

“Like Ms. Eckhart, I too was fearful to come forward," she said. "However, I simply could not stay silent given the tremendous harm that Mr. Henry and others at Fox News have caused for women affiliated with the company. I chose to file this complaint because no woman should have to suffer the conduct to which I was subjected, much less the egregious conduct suffered by Ms. Eckhart.”

Fox News's leadership has faced sexual misconduct allegations dating back to the network's founder and CEO Roger Ailes, who resigned after Gretchen Carlson, a former network anchor, filed a lawsuit accusing him of sexual harassment in 2016. Additionally, a year later, then-prime-time host Bill O'Reilly was fired amid similar allegations and settlement payments.

“Based on the findings of a comprehensive independent investigation conducted by an outside law firm, including interviews with numerous eyewitnesses, we have determined that all of Cathy Areu’s claims against FOX News, including its management as well as its hosts Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity & Howard Kurtz and its contributor Gianno Caldwell, are false, patently frivolous and utterly devoid of any merit," Fox News said in a statement to the Washington Examiner.

Yes, wait until you get way down in the middle of the article to come out and say that an investigation proved the allegations were false.  Typical reporting these days, because most people don't read the entire article. Heck, most people only read the headlines!

Our Press Secretary Get's Called a "Lying Bitch" During Press Briefing
Posted by: Mystic Wanderer - 07-21-2020, 07:45 PM - Forum: Political News and more - Replies (13)

Kayleigh McEnany, our Press Secretary, was called a "lying bitch" during a press briefing today. I'm not sure the name of the female reporter, but she needs to have her press pass pulled immediately, in my opinion.

The Press reporters have become as unsettled as the rioters... well, almost.
Things certainly have changed; no one has respect for anything or anyone these days. Their disrespect and constantly talking over Kayleigh is very unprofessional. It's almost like they don't want the public to hear what Kayleigh reports from her book of facts.

Here's a picture of the reporter:

And you can hear the remarks by this reporter here. It will take you to the Twitter link and you can watch it there.

Reference to this video was provided by friends.  I'm having a Lot of problems looking at any material like this directly on YouTube (hence the delay in editing this post).  I can see the video through the RN interface, but get an error message on his YT channel.  Isn't that weird?

Big fella here ends his monolog with, "Don't wait.  Don't wait." after pretty calmly laying out his observations before that conclusion.  The video is definitely worth listening to (you won't get any extra out of watching it).

We've got to reach points along the way.  One of those points will be "The Point of No Return".  Sounds all dramatic, but I think that's when the drama will start to ramp-up.  That day when you know there's no going back.  When you've slipped just far enough and fast enough.

I do appreciate the way he makes his observations of government asserting more direct control over us as individuals.  This one video should be well digested before moving on to decisions.

I feel pretty fortunate to be living in fly-over country to begin with.  Had planned to bug-in for years.  Probably have to bug-out for a while if things start looking sketchy.  I've moved stuff the wife and I would need to the start of 'the trail' and several cache sites along the way.  Out of pocket cost for that was less than $500.  Pretty sure we'd be able to survive the winter (if not far longer) than that.
