Reference to this video was provided by friends. I'm having a Lot of problems looking at any material like this directly on YouTube (hence the delay in editing this post). I can see the video through the RN interface, but get an error message on his YT channel. Isn't that weird?
Big fella here ends his monolog with, "Don't wait. Don't wait." after pretty calmly laying out his observations before that conclusion. The video is definitely worth listening to (you won't get any extra out of watching it).
We've got to reach points along the way. One of those points will be "The Point of No Return". Sounds all dramatic, but I think that's when the drama will start to ramp-up. That day when you know there's no going back. When you've slipped just far enough and fast enough.
I do appreciate the way he makes his observations of government asserting more direct control over us as individuals. This one video should be well digested before moving on to decisions.
I feel pretty fortunate to be living in fly-over country to begin with. Had planned to bug-in for years. Probably have to bug-out for a while if things start looking sketchy. I've moved stuff the wife and I would need to the start of 'the trail' and several cache sites along the way. Out of pocket cost for that was less than $500. Pretty sure we'd be able to survive the winter (if not far longer) than that.

I would also like for him to spend a week with me in my area to see if he would see things a bit differently,

Sorry for the delay. Added my comments to the OP.

I live well outside the city. I live in an area where we pretty much know each other, and are far enough out, that we live and understand the importance of being a good neighbor.
I work closely with the police departments, a large number of my patients are from the badlands of the inner city, and quite a few are from some of the wealthiest and elite of the area.
I don't know what he has seen or been a part of, that makes him believe what he believes. I know if he is getting his information strictly from the internet or the news, then his reality may be a lot different than mine.
We can't afford to take up arms against a virtually constructed enemy. I pray he is wrong also, but if we fear what he says is true, then we are wasting our time on the internet. Our time should be spent working with those around you to make a secure community. The time to plan for the future, good or bad, is not when it is knocking at the door.
Strictly my opinion.

I really hope that this guy is wrong, but he is echoing what many of us have been thinking for a while now. I honestly believe that no matter who wins the presidential election in the US this November that we are in for serious trouble with a full blown civil war being an actual real possibility- which is something I never thought I'd live long enough to witness.
We have been prepping since before Covid-19 even made its landfall in the US. We are among those unfortunate enough to be stuck in the city at this time but are prepared to either shelter in place or bug out at any moment- even if we have to fight our way out. Apparently others are preparing for the same as firearms and ammo are becoming extremely scarce here. Yesterday I went on another ammo run, most places are almost completely sold out of guns and ammunition except for very small caliber. I have found only one place in the city where I can still get the sizes and types of ammo we need and they are very expensive. While there yesterday I was amazed at the number of first time customers. You can't even get AKs, shotguns or 9mms anymore here, not even on order. Most there were parents looking for protection for their families; it may be too late for them.
If anyone hasn't started prepping for a worst case scenario I encourage you to start immediately! Get what you can while you still can! Even if you don't have much money due to the current economy beans and rice are very inexpensive and you can start filling whatever containers you have available to you with clean water. Seed packets are extremely cheap and you can grow vegetables pretty much anywhere with dirt- our tiny patio is completely filled with them growing in containers. Any firearm is better than NO firearm, not just for protection but for hunting as well. Fishing gear is great to have, if you can't afford a rod and reel fishing line, hooks and bobbers will suffice. if you can't afford something to filter water grab a bottle of bleach- 1/8 tsp in a gallon of water left to sit overnight will kill anything bad and is safe to drink. You can get a flint fire starter at the Dollar Tree for a buck. Just accumulate what you can because ANY preps are better than NO preps.

Wise words. I hope you and @"kdog" are closing in on your plans to move away from the city.
I see my Johnny-come-lately friends with that grasshopper look on their faces ... like when they couldn't find toilet paper on the shelves. My return look says, "Sorry, but I didn't stockpile firearms for your rainy day."
There's a dozen of us who have been as busy as an ant colony since Covid-19. I had a damned good head start gear-wise. The rest of it has been rotating stock and stashing stuff where we expect to find ourselves. I really hope we don't have to survive the winter in the woods, 'cause I wouldn't just be sitting around out there on my laurels. If the pot gets stirred, I'm gonna be making sure it gets stirred vigorously. -chuckle

Is the maker of this video saying these people were in the wrong to defend their property?
I don't know if this man donated to Trump, but he came out and said he's a democrat in an interview. Maybe he's also a part of the "silent majority" who actually support Trump's efforts?
These "protesters" were NOT peaceful. The minute they broke down the gate to enter into private property, they became criminals. The man said he looked out the window and saw them advancing into his yard. That's when he and his wife went out to defend his home.
I would have done the same thing they did.

LONG VIEW comment.
Things tend to churn, in terms of social calm, every 50 to 60 years. Probably has something to do with lifespan and generational changes of guard.
1968 was 52 years ago. We're due for another bout of serious churn. What we're witnessing now is the warm-up.

They don't seem to have a friend in the world at the moment. Maybe they're too rich. Maybe they're too lawyery. Maybe they're registered Democrats. And, maybe they made political contributions to President Trump. Who knows? LOL
I might not have come out onto the porch swinging a rifle around like that ... but, I've got a better sling than he does (did). -grin
This is one of the problems with bugging-in. The 'authorities' come around later and take your property away from you under color of law. Now they're unprepared and have to rely on the cops (who didn't show up to help the first time) ... just minutes away, when seconds count.

I don't know what to make of this. I just hope he's wrong. Like, way wrong.
Some things he says do make sense so he might not be totally off the mark. But a point of no return? Hope not!

Sorry @"Snarl", I just realized I didn't comment on the OP.
I think he could be right, but only if a democrat is elected as the next POTUS.
I really do, in my heart of hearts, believe that if Trump wins and we can take back the House, good times lay ahead.
So many good things could have been done these past four years, but because of the Obstructionists in the House, and all their investigations, it never happened.
If we can get everyone on board and move forward, I see a very good future, not only for the U.S., but for the world.
President Trump is about Peace, getting rid of as much government interference in our lives as possible, and giving power back to the people. He is a President FOR the people.
Sounds good to me!

Sounds legit.
There are some things you can never, ever really be prepared for. My age and state of health, combined with what's coming, is one of those things. I don't worry so much for myself, since I am well aware that I will live until I die, but I worry for Grace - there is just no way to "stock up" on the medicine she needs, and wilderness living - REAL wilderness living, without a house and the convenience it provides - is not something she can withstand for long.
Arms I've got. Not enough ammo (is there really such a thing as "enough ammo"?), food and first aid supplies I've got, and know how to replace. Breath I don't quite have enough of for heavy work.
So the decision for us just comes down to holding off the rampaging hordes just long enough for other, younger and more able, folks to get prepared and situated.
I only hope there are enough of them who even want to.
.
Diogenes was eating bread and lentils for supper. He was seen by the philosopher Aristippus, who lived comfortably by flattering the king.
Said Aristippus, ‘If you would learn to be subservient to the king you would not have to live on lentils.’ Said Diogenes, ‘Learn to live on lentils and you will not have to be subservient to the king.’

Found myself occasionally mumbling that question for the last year and a half. I think most of them would just give up and die.
There are people waiting for the word to take down electrical transmission lines all over the country. The place is gonna stink to high heaven for a couple of months. 3d world status is just nine meals away from any given moment.

@"Snarl"
True, this isn't like World War II where many people had grown up under hardship in rural areas and knew how to hunt and fish, as well as make do without much in the way of goods.
I wonder how many will cry bitter tears when their phone powers down for the final time.

Ohio is not going to wait until November. Gov DeWine made masks mandatory statewide. I’m calling for his removal now. We just jerked the State Speaker of the House out on his ass. Mikey is going to get the long walk soon.
78,742 Total Cases to date. 3235 deaths to date. And a presumed recovered number of 54,426. This is using their own numbers. That means a presumed 21,081 active cases out of 11.69 million Ohioans.
Check my math.

Good for you! If the mask thing wasn’t enough. 3 of the other guys named Ohio’s Speaker of the House FBI bribery investigation were heavy contributors to DeWine’s gubernatorial run...whomp, whomp.
