  Weird object spotted beyond Neptune
Posted by: guohua - 08-12-2016, 10:44 PM - Forum: Science and Space...the Other Final Frontiers - Replies (6)

Yes and they're calling it NIKU.  tinybighuh

This mass appears to be traveling in the opposite direction the other planets travel in.

Quote:“I hope everyone has buckled their seatbelts because the outer solar system just got a lot weirder.” That’s what Michele Bannister, an astronomer at Queens University, Belfast tweeted on Monday.

She was referring to the discovery of a TNO or trans-Neptunian object, something which sits beyond Neptune in the outer solar system. This one is 160,000 times fainter than Neptune, which means the icy world could be less than 200 kilometres in diameter. It’s currently above the plane of the solar system and with every passing day, it’s moving upwards – a fact that makes it an oddity.

The TNO orbits in a plane that’s tilted 110 degrees to the plane of the solar system. What’s more, it swings around the sun backwards unlike most of the other objects in the solar system. With this in mind, the team that discovered the TNO nicknamed it “Niku” after the Chinese adjective for rebellious.

To grasp how truly rebellious it is, remember that a flat plane is the signature of a planetary system, as a star-forming gas cloud creates a flat disk of dust and gas around it. “Angular momentum forces everything to have that one spin direction all the same way,” says Bannister. “It’s the same thing with a spinning top, every particle is spinning the same direction.”
That means anything that doesn’t orbit within the plane of the solar system or spins in the opposite direction must have been knocked off course by something else. “It suggests that there’s more going on in the outer solar system than we’re fully aware of,” says Matthew Holman at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, part of the team that discovered Niku using the Panoramic Survey Telescope and Rapid Response System 1 Survey (Pan-STARRS 1) on Haleakala, Maui.
And it’s the unknown that excites astronomers. “Whenever you have some feature that you can’t explain in the outer solar system, it’s immensely exciting because it’s in some sense foreshadowing a new development,” says Konstantin Batygin at the California Institute of Technology.
Read the rest of the article here: Source

I should mention, That the elusive Planet Nine is mentioned is this article here:
Quote:Upon further analysis, the new TNO appears to be part of another group orbiting in a highly inclined plane, so Holman’s team tested to see if their objects could also be attributed to the gravitational pull of Planet Nine.

It turns out Niku is too close to the solar system to be within the suggested world’s sphere of influence, so there must be another explanation. The team also tried to see if an undiscovered dwarf planet, perhaps similar to Pluto, could supply an explanation, but didn’t have any luck. “We don’t know the answer,” says Holman.

Strange 'Predator' Account From A Renowned Scientist.
Posted by: BIAD - 08-12-2016, 09:35 PM - Forum: Cryptozoology - Replies (4)

Here's one from a David Paulides interview with George Knapp I heard and
involves the wife of Dr. Bruce Maccabee, the famous UFO investigator.
(2010)

'It was Wednesday, September 29, the next to last day in September and hunting
season (for deer) in Ohio was just a 4 days old. The day started  cool and damp
then became a beautiful, warm day with a nice sunset.

Jan was anxious to begin hunting.  Her method of hunting consisted of waiting
and watching while seated in a “tree stand.” The seat of her stand is at the top of
a 15 ft ladder.

Her seat is in the northwestern corner of a many-acre wood that is surrounded by
large planted fields and low density residential areas.
Her seat faces the east and is surrounded by on all sides by trees.

She didn't hunt in the morning but she did climb up the 15 ft to the seat to test the
newly installed bow hanger. She took a picture of her bow hanging from the bow
hanger.

She took the picture (and other pictures below) with her Blackberry "Pearl", Model
8130 camera phone. The phone records the date and time of each picture, the
spatial resolution (number of pixels horizontal and vertical) and the total "byte" size
of the each picture file.

Jan had a strange experience while in the trees in the late afternoon and evening.

She went to her tree stand at about 5:30 and sat.  A squirrel was dropping nut pieces
on her head and animals, birds and crickets were moving and making noise.

To occupy her time she was “texting” with her phone (a means of silent communication).

At about 6:21 PM she decided to photograph herself in the tree stand.
She was facing east with the sun at her back.  She held the camera above and to her left.
The sun was behind her, low in the west, with the light filtering through the tree branches.
She took the first photo with the camera a bit above her head and to her left so she could
get a photo looking down past her to the ground.

She then decided to take a second.
She took the second photo and didn’t like it so she deleted it.

Suddenly the woods went quiet.  Noise stopped.
The silence was “weird.”  It so surprised and unnerved her that she wrote a text message
to her friend (thereby documenting this event):

Something is wrong.  The woods just went to a dead silence.
No squirrels, no birds, no crickets.  Is odd!  (6:23 PM EDT)

She thought a coyote or maybe a black panther or some predator animal caused the
quiet as she knows (as hunters know) that when a predator such as a bear, for example,
enters an area the other animals tend to become quiet.

Then she became aware that a weird visual “effect” was moving rightward across her
field of view at an apparent distance of maybe fifteen to twenty feet.

She described it as if looking through "saran wrap."
Perhaps a more apt comparison would be like looking at a mirage above a hot road.
She compared this distortion of the scene as being somewhat like the effect of the
invisible creature in the PREDATOR movie!

This distortion was at a higher altitude than her 15 ft above the ground, perhaps
about 25 ft above the ground..  She took her glasses off and rubbed her right eye
thinking at first she had a floater (a mote in the eye).
But after rubbing it was still there and not a floater.

It moved to her right from about 15 degrees to the right of straight ahead to about 45
degrees to the right (see the diagram below, not to scale).
Then it disappeared...things looked normal and she could hear the normal sounds
again...'

  Obama and Meet the Press
Posted by: 727Sky - 08-12-2016, 03:17 PM - Forum: America's Ex-President Obama - Replies (6)

Quote:The following is a narrative taken from a 2008 Sunday morning televised "Meet The Press.’  From Sunday's Sept. 7, 2008 11:48:04 EST.

On "Meet the Press" THE THEN Senator Obama was asked about his stance on the American Flag.

General Bill Gann' USAF (ret.) asked Obama to explain WHY he doesn't follow protocol when the National Anthem is played.

The General stated to Obama that according to the United States Code, Title 36, Chapter 10, Sec. 171, “During rendition of the national anthem, when the flag is displayed, all present (except those in uniform) are expected to stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart.” Or, at the very least, "Stand and Face It".

Senator Obama replied; "As I've said about the flag pin, I don't want to be perceived as taking sides." "There are a lot of people in the world to whom the American flag is a symbol of oppression..."  "The anthem itself conveys a war-like message. You know, the bombs bursting in air and all that sort of thing."

Obama continued: "The National Anthem should be 'swapped' for something less parochial and less bellicose. I like the song 'I'd like to Teach the World to Sing'. If that were our anthem, then I might salute it.
In my opinion, we should consider reinventing our National Anthem as well as 'redesign' our Flag to better offer our enemies hope and love.
It's my intention, if elected, to disarm America to the level of acceptance to our Middle East Brethren. If we, as a Nation of warring people, conduct ourselves like the nations of Islam, where peace prevails - - - perhaps a state or period of mutual accord could exist between our governments ......"

When I become President, I will seek a pact of agreement to end hostilities between those who have been at war or in a state of enmity, and a freedom from disquieting oppressive thoughts. .We, as a Nation, have placed upon the nations of Islam, an unfair injustice, which is WHY my wife disrespects the Flag and she and I have attended several flag burning ceremonies in the past."

"Of course now I have found myself about to become The President of the United States and I have put my hatred aside.  I will use my power to bring CHANGE to this Nation, and offer the people a new path.

My wife and I look forward to becoming our Country's First black Family.  Indeed, CHANGE is about to overwhelm the United States of America."

Yes, you read it right.

50 Analysts Say ISIS Intelligence Was Cooked
Posted by: senona - 08-12-2016, 04:33 AM - Forum: Political News and more - Replies (6)

The false manipulated intel might explain the very poor remarks Obama made about ISIS being a 'JV Team' and saying they were "contained" only for days later, carry out an attack on France.

Quote:More than 50 intelligence analysts working out of the U.S. military’s Central Command have formally complained that their reports on ISIS and al Qaeda’s branch in Syria were being inappropriately altered by senior officials, The Daily Beast has learned.

The complaints spurred the Pentagon’s inspector general to open an investigation into the alleged manipulation of intelligence. The fact that so many people complained suggests there are deep-rooted, systemic problems in how the U.S. military command charged with the war against the self-proclaimed Islamic State assesses intelligence.

“The cancer was within the senior level of the intelligence command,” one defense official said.

Two senior analysts at CENTCOM signed a written complaint sent to the Defense Department inspector general in July alleging that the reports, some of which were briefed to President Obama, portrayed the terror groups as weaker than the analysts believe they are. The reports were changed by CENTCOM higher-ups to adhere to the administration’s public line that the U.S. is winning the battle against ISIS and al Nusra, al Qaeda’s branch in Syria, the analysts claim.

That complaint was supported by 50 other analysts, some of whom have complained about politicizing of intelligence reports for months. That’s according to 11 individuals who are knowledgeable about the details of the report and who spoke to The Daily Beast on condition of anonymity.

The accusations suggest that a large number of people tracking the inner workings of the terror groups think that their reports are being manipulated to fit a public narrative. The allegations echoed charges that political appointees and senior officials cherry-picked intelligence about Iraq’s supposed weapons program in 2002 and 2003.

Unbelievable, as something as serious as ISIS,  a worldwide terrorist group, and someone thought it better to be wary of the political implications rather than the safety of our soldiers in the field, not to mention our National Security as a whole.

And for what?
To pacify Obama?
Giving him falsified intel of what was really going on, just to pretend to make the U.S. look good?
When in reality, we are looking like fools. smh.

Someone's azz needs to get in trouble for this IMO, and not just shuffled to another department as this administration is known for.

Still trying to see if MSM is reporting this other than the conservative networks.
Looks like they are still harping on Trump, which is nothing compared to this asinine dangerous shit!!

  Who are you ?
Posted by: Sol - 08-11-2016, 03:54 PM - Forum: Daily Chit Chat - Replies (11)

That's pretty much what I ask myself every morning when I look in the mirror...

Know the feeling?

I bet you do.

My brother in law told me a few weeks ago that he hardly recognizes himself in the mirror anymore. Like his mind got stuck in his mid twenties yet he's in his mid forties. He was actually surprised to find out that I felt the same way, except that I seem to be stuck in my mid forties, reality being in my mid fifties.

When I separated from my wife almost ten years ago, I was lean, sharp, still pretty good looking and in great shape, health wise and physical wise. My idea of separation was to make the next twenty years better and more exciting than the previous twenty years had been.

I forgot to add 'aging' to the equation. O_o

Now I look in the mirror, wonder where all of that gray came from, where all of those wrinkles hid for so long and truly ask myself what has ever happened to that lean body that I had. My thinking isn't as trigger fast as it used to be, I think I look older than I should and my joints aren't as cooperative as they used to be.

Dayum.

Who are you?

I made a google search on the subject and it seems to be on par with how most people see themselves, in that dreaded mirror.

Yep.

And it doesn't seem to be just a man thing either...

So...Do tell, how's your relationship with your mirror?
