China’s plan to organize its society relies on ‘big data’ to rate everyone
Posted by: 1984hasarrived - 10-25-2016, 04:09 AM - Forum: Computers, Internet and the Digital World - Replies (14)

This sort of stuff is already happening, it is just that we do not hear about it often. And currently I am in China, so if I suddenly vanish, you know why :p

Quote:Imagine a world where an authoritarian government monitors everything you do, amasses huge amounts of data on almost every interaction you make, and awards you a single score that measures how “trustworthy” you are.

In this world, anything from defaulting on a loan to criticizing the ruling party, from running a red light to failing to care for your parents properly, could cause you to lose points.

And in this world, your score becomes the ultimate truth of who you are — determining whether you can borrow money, get your children into the best schools or travel abroad; whether you get a room in a fancy hotel, a seat in a top restaurant — or even just get a date.

This is not the dystopian superstate of Steven Spielberg’s “Minority Report,” in which all-knowing police stop crime before it happens. But it could be China by 2020.

It is the scenario contained in China’s ambitious plans to develop a far-reaching social credit system, a plan that the Communist Party hopes will build a culture of “sincerity” and a “harmonious socialist society” where “keeping trust is glorious.”

[Image: firewall061464147491.jpg?uuid=-yHsMJVmEea8ea8c09KYSw]

Internet start-up employees work on their computers in Beijing this year. Mobile device usage and e-commerce are in wide use in China, and now the Communist Party wants to compile a “social credit” score based on citizens’ every activity. (Michael Robinson Chavez/The Washington Post)

high-level policy document released in September listed the sanctions that could be imposed on any person or company deemed to have fallen short. The overriding principle: “If trust is broken in one place, restrictions are imposed everywhere.”

A whole range of privileges would be denied, while people and companies breaking social trust would also be subject to expanded daily supervision and random inspections.
The ambition is to collect every scrap of information available online about China’s companies and citizens in a single place — and then assign each of them a score based on their political, commercial, social and legal “credit.”

The government hasn’t announced exactly how the plan will work — for example, how scores will be compiled and different qualities weighted against one another. But the idea is that good behavior will be rewarded and bad behavior punished, with the Communist Party acting as the ultimate judge.

This is what China calls “Internet Plus,” but critics call a 21st-century police state.

A version of Big Brother?

BREAKING : WikiLeaks Founder & Co-Director, Gavin MacFadyen Found Dead
Posted by: Mystic Wanderer - 10-25-2016, 12:24 AM - Forum: Breaking News - Replies (2)

Quote:BREAKING : WikiLeaks Founder & Co-Director, Gavin MacFadyen Found Dead :

Wikileaks founder, Co-director, and Julian Assange’s mentor, Gavin MacFadyen has died at the age of 76. The cause of death is unknown. Wikileaks members have flocked online to post Farwell’s, including Assange.
RT.com reports: “We are extremely sad to announce the death of Gavin MacFadyen, CIJ’s Founder, Director and its leading light,” the Centre for Investigative Journalism team wrote on its Twitter.
The CIJ team also published an address from MacFadyen’s wife and member of Julian Assange’s Defense Fund, Susan Benn, who described her husband as a “larger-than-life person,” with gratitude and respect.

“He was the model of what a journalist should be… He spearheaded the creation of a journalistic landscape which has irrevocably lifted the bar for ethical and hard-hitting reporting. Gavin worked tirelessly to hold power to account.

“His life and how he lived it were completely in sync with the principles that he held dear and practiced as a journalist and educator – to comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable,” Benn wrote.
Recounting her husband’s achievements, she said he had produced and directed more than 50 investigative documentaries covering diverse and multiple countries and problems. She also noted that he had been banned from apartheid South Africa and the Soviet Union for his investigative work, and was also attacked by British Neo-Nazis.
In his professional career, MacFadyen shed light on topics like child labor, pollution, the torture of political prisoners, neo-Nazis in Britain, UK industrial accidents, Contra murders in Nicaragua, the CIA, maritime piracy, election fraud in South America, South African mines, as well as many others. He worked on investigative television programs for PBS’s Frontline, Granada Television’s World in Action, the BBC’s Fine Cut, Panorama, The Money Programme, and 24 Hours, as well as Channel 4’s Dispatches.

The cause of MacFadyen’s death has not yet been made public. In the original post from his wife Susan, she wrote that he had died from “a short illness,” but that line has now been removed.
Earlier this year, MacFadyen gave an interview to RT’s Going Underground program to talk about the publication of leaks related to US presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, the most recent of which have been emails from the account of her aid, John Podesta. The barrage of sometimes shocking revelations has proven to be a bit of a thorn in the side for Clinton’s election campaign. In the interview, he said that the documents released so far are merely a drop in the ocean of the information WikiLeaks is receiving, and was hopeful that while “there’s only one known Snowden,” there may be other whistleblowers who will keep shedding light on injustice and other major global pain points.

Well, I don't know if this was from natural causes, or not... too soon to know, but the timing sure doesn't shine a very good light on Hillary now, does it?!   smallnotamused

I really hate to hear this.  My sympathy goes out to his family.  May he rest in peace.

  A touchy feely story
Posted by: 727Sky - 10-25-2016, 12:03 AM - Forum: Off Topic - No Replies

Quote:In 1986, Peter Davies was on holiday in Kenya after graduating from Louisiana State University .

On a hike through the bush, he came across a young bull elephant standing with one leg raised in the air. The elephant seemed distressed, so Peter approached it very carefully. He got down on one knee, inspected the elephants foot, and found a large piece of wood deeply embedded in it. As carefully and as gently as he could, Peter worked the wood out with his knife, after which the elephant gingerly put down its foot.

The elephant turned to face the man and with a rather curious look on its face, stared at him for several tense moments. Peter stood frozen, thinking of nothing else but being trampled. Eventually the elephant trumpeted loudly, turned and walked away. Peter never forgot that elephant or the events of that day.

Twenty years later, Peter was walking through the Chicago Zoo with his teenaged son. As they approached the elephant enclosure, one of the creatures turned and walked over to near where Peter and his son Cameron were standing. The large bull elephant stared at Peter, lifted its front foot off the ground, then put it down. The elephant did that several times then trumpeted loudly, all the while staring at the man.

Remembering the encounter in 1986, Peter could not help wondering if this was the same elephant. Peter summoned up his courage, climbed over the railing and made his way into the enclosure. He walked right up to the elephant and stared back in wonder. The elephant trumpeted again, wrapped its trunk around one of Peter legs and slammed him against the railing, killing him instantly.

Probably wasn't the same f***ing elephant.

OH....This is for everyone who sends me those heart-warming bullshit stories.

  Are you a Pilot ?
Posted by: 727Sky - 10-24-2016, 11:55 PM - Forum: Humor, Jokes & Pranks - Replies (3)

Quote:You think you have lived to be 80 plus and know who you are, then along comes someone and blows it all to hell!

An old Marine Pilot sat down at the Starbucks, still wearing his old USMC flight jacket and ordered a cup of coffee.

As he sat sipping his coffee, a young woman sat down next to him. She turned to the pilot and asked, Are you a real pilot?

He replied, 'Well, I've spent my whole life flying planes, first Stearmans, then the early Grummans... flew a Wildcat and Corsair in WWII, and later in the Korean conflict, Banshees and Cougars. I've taught more than 260 people to fly and given rides to hundreds, so I guess I am a pilot, and you, what are you?

She said, 'I'm a lesbian. I spend my whole day thinking about naked women. As soon as I get up in the morning, I think about naked women. When I shower, I think about naked women. When I watch TV, I think about naked women. It seems everything makes me think of naked women.'

The two sat sipping in silence.

A little while later, a young man sat down on the other side of the old pilot and asked:  "Are you a real pilot?"

He replied, 'I always thought I was, but I just found out I'm a lesbian.'

TWD - The Walking Dead Season 7...
Posted by: Sol - 10-24-2016, 11:27 PM - Forum: Movies and TV Shows - Replies (4)

The first episode of season 7 aired last night after a loooooong summer of waiting to see who would end up at the end of 'Lucille', Negan's barb wire baseball bat...

Now that I've seen it...All I'll say is...

HOLY SHIT !

That has to be some of the most gruesome scenes that I've ever seen on TV.

For spoiler alerts, I won't go into details but dayem....

A lot of fans are pissed and quitting the show. The gore has surpassed the zombies fests. The fake elongated mysteries have out shunned the good writing.

I'll still be watching but after last night, I feel like they've diverted a little too much from the originality of its crazy beginnings.

Like having had pizza for too long...it just doesn't taste as good anymore.

Next week...the Kingdom...we'll see how that turns out.

For those of you following TWD, what are your impressions (without killing the punches - or baseball bat hits - for those who haven't seen it) about S7 Ep 1 ?

Look What the Pentagon is Demanding Now!
Posted by: Mystic Wanderer - 10-24-2016, 11:10 PM - Forum: Political News and more - Replies (2)

This is a crying shame... just a crying shame, I tell you!   minusculeredtantrum

Quote:As reported by the LA Times, “Short of troops to fight in Iraq and Afghanistan a decade ago, the California National Guard enticed thousands of soldiers with bonuses of $15,000 or more to reenlist and go to war.

Now the Pentagon is demanding the money back. Nearly 10,000 soldiers, many of whom served multiple combat tours, have been ordered to repay large enlistment bonuses — and slapped with interest charges, wage garnishments and tax liens if they refuse — after audits revealed widespread overpayments by the California Guard at the height of the wars last decade.

(Red text by me.)

California Guard officials mismanaged the bonuses under pressure to meet enlistment targets. So, is it really the fault of the people who received the bonus to have to pay it back? It was a slap in the face to tell them to pay it back, in my opinion.

Quote:Soldiers say the military is reneging on 10-year-old agreements and imposing severe financial hardship on veterans whose only mistake was to accept bonuses offered when the Pentagon needed to fill the ranks.

“These bonuses were used to keep people in,” said Christopher Van Meter, a 42-year-old former Army captain and Iraq veteran from Manteca, Calif., who says he refinanced his home mortgage to repay $25,000 in reenlistment bonuses and $21,000 in student loan repayments that the Army says he should not have received.

“People like me just got screwed.” In Iraq, Van Meter was thrown from an armored vehicle turret — and later awarded a Purple Heart for his combat injuries — after the vehicle detonated a buried roadside bomb. Susan Haley, a Los Angeles native and former Army master sergeant who deployed to Afghanistan in 2008, said she sends the Pentagon $650 a month — a quarter of her family’s income — to pay down $20,500 in bonuses that the Guard says were given to her improperly.

“I feel totally betrayed,” said Haley, 47, who served 26 years in the Army along with her husband and oldest son, a medic who lost a leg in combat in Afghanistan. Haley, who now lives in Kempner, Texas, worries they may have to sell their house to repay the bonuses. “They’ll get their money, but I want those years back,” she said, referring to her six-year reenlistment.“

This is beyond appalling. Here we have a Pentagon stating it will pay for sex change surgery for those who are suffering from gender dysphoria. I just want to know, how much money did the Department of Defense pay for those “transgender handbooks” and training materials? And how about the state of California not give taxpayer-funded benefits to illegal immigrants and maybe, every sanctuary city in California should pay this tab? And where is Barack Obama, the liar commander in chief on this issue? Yes, I am just that peeved.

Here’s Obama touting his generosity in allowing tens of thousands of Syrian refugees into the country, with benefits. Why not cut that off and provide the funding for these men and women who’ve served? This has been ten years past and now we’re punishing those who’ve gone on with their lives? They did nothing wrong, they didn’t seek to defraud our nation — heck, they put their lives on the line to backfill the manpower shortages made by politicians and government bureaucrats. Is this truly how we honor those who have served?

This quote is often attributed by many (including yours truly) to General George Washington. I wish I knew who first said it, because it is damn right: “The willingness with which our young people are likely to serve in any war, no matter how justified, shall be directly proportional to how they perceive how the veterans of earlier wars were treated and appreciated by their nation.”

No truer words could have been spoken and ask yourself, what member of any State National Guard will step up to the plate knowing this? Where is California Governor Jerry Brown? He’s very busy sending letters to the president asking to open up Obamacare for illegal immigrants in California — what about these Americans who are being wrongfully targeted Mr. Brown?

Barack Obama is all over providing more and more government largesse for the expansion of the welfare state — maybe we should have less folks getting EBT (electronic benefits cards) and rectify this situation. Ladies and gents, this is just one of the reasons why Americans are angry.
Hey, I have a novel idea, all these overpaid NFL jerks, and other athletes taking a knee during our national anthem – how ‘bout you pony up the funds for these men and women?

They’re the reason why y’all can go out and play kids’ games for big bucks — they provide that blanket of security. You mean this isn’t about “social justice?”

I just cannot believe I’m living in an America that would send notices of repayment for their services rendered to stand upon freedom’s rampart — wage garnishment? Are you kidding me?

We’ve had how many of our veterans die at the hands of inept, corrupt, and deceitful government bureaucrats at the Veterans Administration… and how many of them have been ordered to return their bonuses? This is just unconscionable and I want to hear from anyone who agrees with this! Who in God’s name would want to serve in uniform for our country at this time?

And we know that a Hillary Clinton presidency, with a cabinet of alleged criminals who received immunity, would be based on abandoning Americans to die and lying about it in a combat engagement.
This is a national shame, and let’s see if Obama will come out and make a statement about this.
Let’s see if White House mouthpiece Josh “not so” Earnest will address this tomorrow at the daily press briefing.

Folks, we need to melt down the Pentagon phone and email lines and demand this stop, and any and all funds be returned to these men and women. Find those who are responsible and force them to pay restitution — not these who left their homes and placed themselves in harm’s way — which is what they were asked to do.

All I can say is this, if Hillary Clinton says she’ll continue the Obama policies…and if she agrees to this, well, there’s no way she can be president. As for MSG Susan Haley, early voting starts tomorrow in Texas. Let’s send a message, Master Sergeant!

We’ve gone two weeks without awarding a FUBAR recognition…well, we got one here!

Sigh...   Who in their right mind will serve in uniform after this?!   tinyok

Why Is Antarctica Kept TOP SECRET?
Posted by: Mystic Wanderer - 10-23-2016, 07:30 PM - Forum: The Enlightened Ones or The Powers That Be - Replies (4)

Just before the outbreak of WWII, Hitler made a trip to Antarctica, and recently, in March 2016, Obama visited also.  Was he making preparations for going into hiding before WWIII begins?

The Nazis believed in the Hollow Earth, and so did many others.  It wasn't until NASA was formed that the belief was ridiculed and people were labeled as "crazy" who believed this "theory".

Was NASA trying to hide the fact that something is down there?  What is it  they don't want us to see?

Watch this short video and see what you think.

Quote:Published on Aug 5, 2016
This documentary short is a complex presentation of recent U.S. and Russian visits to Antarctica, the Nazis, and Hollow Earth, including its importance in Nazi Germany before and during WW2, and Antarctica's possible escape route off of the Earth for many Nazi's who mysteriously disappeared after the war without a trace. Few know the truth about Antarctica, as it is an expanse of land that has gone unnoticed for centuries. But not by the Nazis...They knew the truth...

The Nazis believed there might have been a civilization inside the Earth. This was the belief of Helena Blavatsky, who profoundly influenced the Nazi's philosophy and esotericism. There is an abundance of evidence to suggest that a theory now considered dumb to most people, the hollow Earth, had an unusual cult following in Nazi Germany. German pop figures and writers also supported this idea, including one writer named Karl Neupert. The Earth was not a solid rock, but was shaped more like a human eyeball, having two portals of entry at the North and South poles and was hollow in the center. An empire was alleged to exist inside the Earth called Agartha. This is where the master race dwells.

Why was this? The Nazis did not create the hollow Earth concept. The idea preceded them. Even illuminati members Edgar Allen Poe and Jules Verne alluded in their poetry and prose to such a place, deep underneath the crust. Call it conspiracy, but the Nazi's led three expeditions to Antarctica, and Admiral Richard Byrd, who led Operation Highjump, suggests that "bases" were established in Antarctica by the Nazis. They were doing something down there. Was the continent an escape for them?

Now, Obama visited Antarctica in March, and he was preceded by Patriarch Kirill of Russia. Simultaneous to Obama's visit to the South Pole, his director of CIA, James Clapper, made a secret trip to Australia, another country with heavy interest in Antarctica. Kirill offered a strange blessing of Antarctica, calling the barren land an "ideal for human kind" because there were no weapons down there or any type of science experiments. Except, we know that is not true at all: there are multiple scientific expeditions that have gone to Antarctica: this was confirmed in an interview with Richard Byrd, who said that the region would become the center of scientific inquiry directly after WW2. What did he mean by this?

Oh this is rich...a porn star accuses Trump of sexual assault...
Posted by: Sol - 10-23-2016, 03:58 PM - Forum: Election 2016 ! - Replies (6)

Yep, you read that right.

How crazier than that can it get ???

Porn star Jessica Drake has come forward to denounce Trump of sexual misconduct...just wow...

Quote:Adult film actress Jessica Drake has come forward accusing presidential hopeful Donald Trump of sexual assault. Drake (according to IMDB her real name is Angela Patrice Heaslet) is the latest woman to come forward with allegations against Trump.

OK. This woman has probably seen more penises that all of you Rogue women will ever get to see in your lifetimes...and that's all of you combined...in all her orifices but her nostrils.

What a shocker...but it gets better...

Quote:Drake said that after declining an invitation from someone on Trump's behalf to come back to his room, she was then called by Donald himself. "Donald then asked me 'what do you want? How much?' I told him I couldn't because I had to go back to LA for work, I said that as an excuse because I didn't want him to continue asking me, and I didn't want to be with him," said Drake.

So...just a question here...but why would he go into a sexual assault if he offered money for services? Just curious is all...but it gets better...

Quote:After that, she said, she was offered $10,000, which she declined, when she was offered the use of Trump's private jet if she "accepted his invitation."

10 grand. 10 GRAND ! Do any of you believe for ONE second that Trump would pay that much for a one shot deal? Seriously? THAT is the type of thing that should be on the next SNL...

How does Trump react to this clown...(apologies to Barnum & Bailey for offending them lol) ...

Quote:The Trump campaign responded to the claims on Saturday in a statement that called Drake's story "totallyand ridiculous," going on to add that "Mr. Trump does not know this person, does not remember this person and would have no interest in ever knowing her. This is just another attempt by the Clinton campaign to defame a candidate who just today is number one in three different polls."

The statement concluded: "Just another example of the Clinton campaign trying to rig the election."

I AGREE !!!

Hey...you blind Clinton supporters out there....WAKE UP ! They are taking you for idiots, making you swallow (no pun intended) garbage like this !!

You can't make up shit like that.

But obviously the Clinton campaign sure can.

DNA Analysis of Paracas Elongated Skulls Released: Unknown to Any Human, Primate, or
Posted by: 727Sky - 10-23-2016, 01:21 PM - Forum: Lost and Ancient - Replies (5)

What gets me about these skulls in particular is the cranial volume which in some cases is 2.5 larger than known humanoids ?
http://wakingtimesmedia.com/dna-analysis...te-animal/

Quote:Arjun Walia, Collective-Evolution
Waking Times Media
Paracas is located in the Pisco Province in the Inca Region on the Southern coast of Peru. Home of the ground breaking discovery in 1928 by Julio Tello of a massive graveyard containing tombs filled with the remains of individuals with elongated skulls, now known as the famous Paracas Skulls.
They are approximately 3000 years old, and initial DNA analysis of them has revealed that they may not have come from humans, but from a completely new species, according to Paracas Museum assistant director, researcher and author Brien Foerster. Here is the apparent quote from the geneticist who did the testing.
Quote:From the doctors that I have spoken to, they have said that you can alter the shape of the skull but you cannot increase the size of the skull. The skull is genetically predetermined to have a certain volume.” (Source)(Source)

Quote:I would also like to quote author and historian Graham Hancock.
Quote:“I have grave doubts about stories presently doing the rounds on the internet, and apparently bought hook, line and sinker by many, making extravagant and premature claims about the implications of DNA testing on certain elongated skulls from Paracas in Peru. We have no details of the lab that’s done the testing, and even in the sensationalist reports that have been attracting so much attention it is emphasised that the findings are preliminary. Let’s wait until we see the findings themselves, rather than someone referring to them, and let’s get more detailed results, before we get in the least bit excited. That being said, previously unknown species of human have been coming out of the woodwork recently (Denisovans, Homo Floresiensis) so who knows? It’s always good to keep an open mind but right now I fear this whole thing with the Paracas skulls is going to blow up into a great discredit to alternative history. I do hope I am proved wrong.” (Source)

WikiLeaks Bombshell: ‘There Is No US Election’
Posted by: senona - 10-23-2016, 08:21 AM - Forum: Election 2016 ! - Replies (4)

We always said that Presidential elections are only an 'illusion' -- yes the American people will vote for whomever they want, but in the end, TPTB have already picked the favored candidate.
Party affiliation does not matter either, being as they are playing for the same 'team'.

Wikileaks just released Barack Obama's personal emails, showing that President Bush organized his transition to the highest office in the land before the 2008 election.

Can anyone say 'rigged system'?
Trump ain't too far off the mark, in more ways than one it seems.
So for people to say he is hurting our democracy is laughable, being as Hillary and the like have been doing that for years.

Quote:WikiLeaks couldn’t have made it clearer in a series of tweets on Thursday – the US election for the President of the United States is rigged. The establishment have selected their President and by hook or crook she will be “elected.”

Responding to allegations that WikiLeaks recent leaks have outed it as playing partisan politics, WikiLeaks fired back,

You are not a fan of publishing true information about corrupt ruling power factions who will take power on Jan 20?

On the day WikiLeaks publicized the release of emails from Barack Obama’s personal account, their Twitter account then stated that the outcome of the election was planned from the outset:

"What election? It has been clear from the beginning who is going to win. This is, in effect, a power consolidation exercise.”

Considering what we now know about the behind-the-scenes rigging of the Democratic primary, the collusion between the DNC establishment and mainstream media, and the fact Hillary Clinton pushed for Donald Trump’s GOP nomination, can you possibly disagree?

Are Presidents elected or selected?

Quote:WikiLeaks emails from Barack Obama’s personal email account reveal that the Bush administration contacted the future president multiple times before the election, secretly organizing the transition of power.

The 2008 transition had gone down in history as surprisingly smooth. Martha Joynt Kumar, in a book about the transition, said it “was the best in anyone’s memory, in part because 9/11 made everyone recognize that a transition is fragile time.”

Today’s revelations raise questions about why it was so smooth — suggestions Obama was selected by the shadow government, rather than elected by the people, are no longer tinfoil hat territory.

The most eye catching email in today’s leak contains a message from John Podesta about an invitation from President George W. Bush to the “President-Elect.”

Should that have read “President-Select?”

Podesta sent the email to Obama before the election result was known.

The emails show a transition plan was being worked on long before the 2008 election had taken place. According to an attached memo in one of the emails, Obama was already discussing his transition to office with members of the Bush Administration, including then-Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson, prior to the election.

Quote:As you have observed in your interactions with Secretary Paulson, he is apparently eager to involve you and your transition team extensively in his policy choices following the election.

Another attached memo acknowledges that it was unusual to start the transition process so soon.

We are now at the point of deciding how to staff economic policy during the transition, who should be the point of contact with Treasury and how to blend the transition and campaign economic policy talent.

Normally these decisions could be made after the election, and ideally after the selection of a National Economic Advisor, but, of course, these are not normal times.

Source

Not normal times? What are normal times anyway in the political world?

Certainly not now -- in 2016 -- being as nothing has changed in the way they operate.
In fact, the corruption within D.C. has gotten worse, with Hillary being the main player especially in her Sec. of State days.

Hence why the Trump movement is so strong, so passionate.

Thanks Wikileaks for exposing the hardcore truth......the D.C. corruption and to what extent they will go to behind the scenes, to get the final result they want, at any & all cost!

Even having Hillary and her people connive against Sanders.

So what do you think?
Are our Presidents 'elected' or 'selected' by TPTB?
