Many of the residents of Thomasville , Alabama will be glad to have jobs, but it will also become yet another community that will now be heavily dependent on communist China. And guess where else Chinese companies are putting down roots? Detroit. Chinese-owned companies are investing in American businesses and new vehicle technology, selling everything from seat belts to shock absorbers in retail stores, and hiring experienced engineers and designers in an effort to soak up the talent and expertise of domestic automakers and their suppliers. If you recently purchased an American-made vehicle, there is a really good chance that it has a number of Chinese parts in it. Industry analysts are hard-pressed to put a number on the Chinese suppliers operating in the United States .

China seems particularly interested in acquiring energy resources in the United States. For example, China is actually mining for coal in the mountains of Tennessee. Guizhou Gouchuang Energy Holdings Group spent 616 million dollars to acquire Triple H Coal Co. in Jacksboro, Tennessee. At the time, that acquisition really didn't make much news, but now a group of conservatives in Tennessee is trying to stop the Chinese from blowing up their mountains and taking their coal.

Pretty soon China may want to build entire cities in the United States just like they have been doing in other countries. Right now China is actually building a city larger than Manhattan just outside Minsk , the capital of Belarus.

Overall, the U.S. has run a trade deficit with China over the past decade that comes to more than 2.3 trillion dollars. China has more foreign currency reserves than anyone else on the planet. China now has the largest new car market in the entire world. China now produces more than twice as many automobiles as the United States makes. After being bailed out by U.S. taxpayers, GM is involved in 11 joint ventures with Chinese companies. China is the number one gold producer in the world. The uniforms for the U.S. Olympic team were made in China. 85% of all artificial Christmas trees the world over are made in China. The new World Trade Center tower in New York is going to include glass imported from China. China now consumes more energy than the United States does. China is now in aggregate the leading manufacturer of goods in the entire world. China uses more cement than the rest of the world combined. China is now the number one producer of wind and solar power on the entire globe. China produces 3 times as much coal and 11 times as much steel as the United States does. China produces more than 90 percent of the global supply of rare earth elements. China is now the number one supplier of components that are critical to the operation of any national defense system.

In published scientific research articles China is expected to become number one in the world very shortly. And what we have seen so far may just be the tip of the iceberg. For now, I will just leave you with one piece of advice - learn to speak Chinese. You are going to need it.

I was pondering the other day... Isn't modern life strange?

We "meet" more people than ever before, but the vast majority of them are "virtual" people... online acquaintances who we are unlikely to ever meet in person. It got me thinking that we rarely get the chance to really KNOW much about one another, so I though that I'd create a thread where we could (if we wanted to) share some little details about what we get up to when we're away from the online forums. What jobs do we do? What real-life hobbies do we enjoy? What do we LOVE? What do we HATE?

In Real Life, I run my own Sign-Making and Vinyl Graphics business.
I've been doing so for about 10 years now.
It was initially set up by myself in partnership with my long-time best buddy Mark S, but he has since left and I've been running the whole show for about 2 or 3 years now? It's hard to keep track!!

What does Vinyl Graphics / Sign-Making involve? I hear you ask... reluctantly! LOL

Well, usually my customer will ask me to make a sign or vinyl graphic for them.
I'll design it using the specialist sign-making software on my PC,



and when the design is finished, I'll send it to my vinyl cutting machine.



It's a bit like a plotter, but with a tiny sharp blade instead of a pen.
The vinyl comes in rolls, and you have to cut each single colour separately.
When the design has been cut, you remove the excess vinyl which surrounds your design



You next have to "weed out" the parts that you don't need, by using a sharp scalpel to lift and remove them.



Once all of the unwanted parts have been removed, you cover the design with a clear "application" layer which holds all of the parts together whilst you apply it to the object or sign board.

This particular item is a sign for for a local Saddlery business, I'll try and add a photo of the finished sign, once it has been installed.

It's quite an interesting job for me to have because it utilises both my boring/structured/technical/computer side AND my creative/artistic/design side, and every single job is a different challenge.

Not many folks will know this, but before starting up the graphics & sign-making business, I spent 5 years as a stay-at-home dad for my eldest son!
My health hadn't been great, I was very stressed out at my job in IT support/IT Project management and my wife was doing great and enjoying her job, so when we decided to start a family, it just seemed like the right thing to do at the time!
The hardest part about being a Stay-At-Home Dad was the isolation and lack of adult company.
All of my own friends were working during the day, so I hardly ever had the chance to see them. I didn't know any other stay-at-home dads, and the parent & toddler groups back then were all aimed at women with kids.

Things changed for the better one day when I bumped into the local mum's & toddlers in the local park...
When I introduced myself, they asked why I hadn't come along to their group who meet once a week in the local school... I pointed out that it was because the group was called "The MOTHERS and TODDLERS Group". They looked a little bit embarrassed and insisted that I come along... they even changed the name immediately to "Parents and Toddlers group" which helped a lot!

Before that time, I worked in IT support. Initially in hardware support, then on the support desk, then 2nd line support and finally in IT project management. (Very Boring!)

Away from work, I love the great outdoors, camping, camper-vanning, wood-working, sports, travel, history, cryptozoology, UFO's, future-tech, music, food & drink and having fun!
I used to play drums in a rock band for many years, and latterly have been playing guitar and singing both on my own, in various duo's and bands.

Sleeping on a cold winter's night, with windows slightly opened, feeling some cold air filling my lungs every time I breathe, has always been an all time favorite of mine. Camping outdoors on a winter's night, with enough furs to keep my body warm has always put me in a state that I cannot fully describe. Feeling the cold air around me, on my face and hands, all the while being tugged under a mountain of heavy furry blankets is something I wish everyone could try, at least once in a lifetime.

For some odd reason, it also enhanced my vivid dreaming faculties. Dreams so real that they are almost scary - or glorious.

That was one of those nights.

I was oddly dreaming that I was in a sleep paralysis state, not able to move an iota. In this dream, I could always open an eye - briefly - but all there was to be seen was snow. Walls of snow. Just snow all around. I was hysterically laughing inside as I knew that this wasn't real, especially after trying to focus my eyesight on something that moved close to me...that looked like...well...fluffy bunny feet.

I could also feel that I wasn't alone, someone else was there, a few feet away from me. I couldn't really tell if it was a he or a she, or an it for that matter but it seemed dressed for outdoors and not moving an iota either.

The only thing moving were those fluffy bunny feet that I'd see, from the corner of my eye, every time they'd get close to me.

I'd sometimes hear some sort of a growl but figured that it was that other person there, snoring or something of the like. Vivid imagination!

Sleep paralysis is a curious thing. I couldn't move but all my senses were awake, just not fully responding. And then, I felt heat. Like really, really hot and went into some sort of a panic...hypothermia could have been setting in.

I guess that the panic increased my heartbeat or something like that, as I started to become conscious again...waking up slowly.

My eyesight was returning, I could feel my limbs, frozen but I was still able to move a bit.

It is at that moment that I realized that this wasn't a dream.

I was hung, upside down and that other person I had imagined was there as well, about twelve feet away, also hanging upside down, and I could see that his or her feet were stuck to the ceiling of this place, in ice. He was a he, I could see him now, young but a he.

Feeling that movement again coming towards me, I looked and saw those fluffy feet again but as I raised my head to glimpse at what the rest of this animal looked like...

A Wampa!!!!

I've been caught by a Wampa!! I noticed the creature turning around towards the other person as he started to move. He was clearly trying to reach for something.

A bright blue light came on, swishing sounds and a howl...the creature had been hurt.

The creature turned around, looked at me and went further in the cave, leaving a limb and a trail of blood behind.

The young one had run out of the cave, never even noticing I was there.

In that brief second, my blood went cold, my heart stopped as I realized that I was stuck to the ceiling of this cave and that I was this Wampa's next lunch.

I had been warned before that such is life on Hoth. I was offered a rank in the Empire but refused it.

I never listened.

A woman by the name of Margaret Sanger and it appears she didn't start this crusade for women to have control over their own bodies, No, it would seem she had a more Evil Goal in mind.

Sanger skillfully crafted her language of caring for children and women while at the same time blatantly spewing her repugnance for the “unfit,” the “garden weeds,” and the “human beings who should never have been born at all.”

In implementing a plan called the "Negro Project," that was designed to sterilize Blacks and reduce the number of Black children being born in the south, Sanger wrote: [We propose to] hire three or four colored ministers, preferably with social-service backgrounds, and with engaging personalities. The most successful educational approach to the Negro is through a religious appeal.
And we do not want word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population, and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members." [2]

Sanger also viewed welfare as a detriment to society because it increased the number of poor blacks and foreigners. "Organized charity (modern welfare) is the symptom of a malignant social disease, increasing numbers of defectives, delinquents, and dependents.
My criticism, therefore, is not directed at the 'failure' of philanthropy, but rather at its success."[3] The urban poor, and their increasing numbers, she called, "an ever widening margin of biological waste."[4] Welfare, she believed, encouraged the breeding of the poor, or "human waste," as she called them.

She feared that welfare would encourage the urban poor by having them give birth to those "stocks that are the most detrimental to the future of the race"[5] Therefore, she believed that the government should actively encourage the sterilization of those who are unfit to propagate the race, using as her motto: "More [children] from the fit, less from the unfit."

One of the greats has passed today, Charlie Daniels.
I've seen him posting on Twitter a lot lately; I had no idea he was in bad health, so this came as a shock to me.

I listened to Charlie Daniels a lot while growing up, and I went to see him in concert when I was a teenager.
He was a strong supporter of President Trump and a proud Patriot of the United States.

We've lost a good one.  May he rest in peace.
