Life Starts Kicking Your Butt From Birth
Posted by: NightskyeB4Dawn - 07-31-2020, 05:48 PM - Forum: Off Topic - Replies (13)

Have been spending a lot of time this week in meetings and in classes. It has been a bit of a brain buster, and being one of those people that has the question "why" perpetually on my lips, a paper I just read gave me pause. Not because it was new information, but because it was old information being view in a new light.

It has been accepted for years among the medical community, that early life experiences and exposure to chronic stress, can have lingering effects into adulthood. They have a screening tool used in many area to identify some of those stressors. ACE screening for Adverse Childhood Experiences, is commonly used, because it is believed to improve efficacy and efficiency of health care, better support individual and family health and well-being, and reduce long-term health costs. So the premise is not new, but I will admit I was a bit puzzled and the gears in my mind sped up when I read the paper presented.

The paper read:

Quote:“This ‘two-hit’ hypothesis is extremely interesting when we think about disease progression across the lifespan. When an inflammatory disease, something like COVID-19, hits someone after a life of chronic stress, that second event tips the scales,” said Molly Hyer, Ph.D., a postdoctoral fellow in Neigh’s lab.

Now Neigh's lab has determined that
Quote:The team discovered that the same stressors can affect both sexes, but the impact is different according to biological sex, scientifically defined as the hormonal and chromosomal profile of an organism.
Which has me questioning if they believe adolescents will be affected by the stressors of COVID later in life, but men will react differently and display a different set of symptoms from women. My bigger question is if they are looking at the effects of the virus, or the actions that we have taken in response to the virus, they are suspecting will affect the population in the future.

Are we creating health, and possibly mental problems that can be avoided? We are having lots of talks about potential damage in the future, but we are not being very proactive about doing much in prevention. We are big at teaching to avoid the stressors that we know can affect a child later in life. If the life stressors of COVID is being included on the list, we are at a point where we can do something about it, beside talk about what to expect in the future.

In my opinion.

Tongue Portland Officials Say Feds Owe Them $190K in Fines
Posted by: xuenchen - 07-31-2020, 05:17 PM - Forum: Political News and more - Replies (7)

A Portland Oregon City "official" has made it clear that the Federal Government owes Portland some big money for not getting the proper permits to erect that fencing around the Federal courthouse that's been getting sieged by violent rioting.

This is total deluxe insanity as we learned a day or two ago that Portland and The State of Oregon(e) will be "cooperating" and doing their jobs and enforcing laws that have bee running wild for over 2 months with unchecked rioting and looting on a daily basis.

Heed the warnings and never trust Democrats in power to do what they agree to do.  tinydrroling

A few days ago the Mayor of Portland was actually blaming Federal presence for all the violence !! tinycool

Quote:The City of Portland, Oregon is penalizing the federal government $500 every 15 minutes for erecting fencing to protect a courthouse without the proper permits; totaling $192,000 since riots began there more than nine weeks ago.

“City Commissioner Chloe Eudaly said in a statement Tuesday that the fencing is obstructing the street outside of the courthouse. As of Monday, she said, the federal government owed Portland $192,000,” reports Fox News.

“We intend to collect,” said Eudaly, who added that she was “committed to doing everything in my power to end this federal occupation and move forward with our community’s reckoning with racial injustice and our efforts to transform our approach to policing and public safety.”

The deadliest Virus in the world

Worth a listen and a few thoughts on all our parts. When you think of death and destruction what comes to mind ? War, famine, some kind of deadly virus or bug ? What if I told you a simple idea that spreads like a virus and infects the minds of the people is absolutely the deadliest of them all. Listen and think about some of the parallels of what is being said ....THINK...

  Another Corrupt Democrat Politician Arrested
Posted by: Mystic Wanderer - 07-31-2020, 02:29 AM - Forum: Political News and more - Replies (1)

Quote:MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — A Tennessee state senator has been charged with stealing more than $600,000 in federal funds received by a health care company she directed and using the money to pay for her wedding and other personal expenses, federal prosecutors said Wednesday.

A criminal complaint unsealed Wednesday charges state Sen. Katrina Robinson with theft and embezzlement involving government programs and wire fraud, U.S. Attorney D. Michael Dunavant said in a news release.
Robinson, a Democrat elected to the General Assembly in 2018 from a Memphis district, is also the director of The Healthcare Institute, which provides training for jobs in the health care field, prosecutors said.

Before anyone says anything, I didn't post this because this woman is a democrat. Actually, I thought she was a republican until I read the article because Tennessee is mostly a red state.
I would have posted it and spoken the same language against her if she had been a Republican.

I hate corrupt politicians... period!

Quote:The Memphis-based school received received more than $2.2 million in federal grants from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

From 2015 through 2019, Robinson stole more than $600,000 and used it to pay for her wedding and honeymoon, a 2016 Jeep Renegade for her daughter, travel and entertainment for her family, and an event for her state Senate campaign, prosecutors said.

She also used the money to pay for legal fees for her divorce, home improvements and a snow cone business operated by her children, prosecutors said.

The FBI searched the school and her home in February. FBI agents visited her home again on Tuesday, FBI spokesman Joel Siscovic said.

If convicted, Robinson faces a possible sentence of up to 20 years in federal prison. Robinson would be up for re-election in 2022.

During a news conference, Robinson's attorney Janika White said federal prosecutors were using a statute to charge Robinson that is “broad and overreaching" and Robinson would be vindicated. White said Robinson is a nurse who has been traveling outside of the state to help treat patients during the new coronavirus pandemic.

Robinson, who is Black, said she will continue serving her district in the Senate “with the same integrity, the same passion that I've demonstrated since you've elected me to this office.”

"Robinson, who is Black"...   What the hell difference does the color of her skin have to do with stealing $600,000?
Is her skin color supposed to get her a pass?
The media just had to get that in there, didn't they?   smallnotamused

Well, anyway, another corrupt politician has been taken out of the mix and opened the seat for a better candidate, I hope.

  Some breaking news from Wisconsin
Posted by: ChiefD - 07-31-2020, 12:49 AM - Forum: Breaking News - Replies (21)

Hi everyone! I just got done watching Governor Evers mandate masks for the entire state. So as he explained it, masks will be required to be worn indoors where there are people, unless it’s someone’s house or a restaurant. You don’t have to wear masks outside, but it is encouraged. So if one wants to take a walk, like I do many days, one wouldn’t have to wear a mask to do that.

I’m not surprised it has come down to this. Wisconsin’s numbers have spiked, granted not as much as Florida or their ilk, but the numbers of cases and deaths are up. I don’t have a problem with this. I think it will help. I’ve been wearing masks whenever I go to any store, so it’s not a big deal. So for people who don’t want to wear one, not sure what they will do. My local grocery store has something where if someone says they cannot wear a mask, they give them a face shield to wear while shopping.

So I hope and pray our numbers go down.

Smile Ohio Board of Pharmacy Reverses Rule, Okays Hydroxychloroquine
Posted by: xuenchen - 07-31-2020, 12:05 AM - Forum: Political News and more - Replies (1)

After the Ohio Board of Pharmacy decided to ban the controversial drug Hydroxychloroquine, they apparently have changed their minds.

Obvious Democrat infiltrated Board acted in haste with their blind hatred and sock puppet decision making.

The Governor cited some CDC material and low and behold, the BOP reversed themselves !!

I hear somebody got to some Members with payoffs and promises just to add more confusion to the whole COVID19(84) mess.

I wonder how much money was pissed away by the Board just to come up with their now screwed up "directive" ? LOL

Now what in the world will Google do ??tinylaughing

Quote:The Ohio Board of Pharmacy has reversed a rule that prohibited the sale and dispensing of hydroxychloroquine or chloroquine in the state after Gov. Mike DeWine ® asked for the reversal.

“I agree with the statement from Dr. Steven Hahn, Commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration, that the decision about prescribing hydroxychloroquine to treat COVID-19 should be between a doctor and a patient,” DeWine said in a statement. “Therefore, I am asking the Ohio Board of Pharmacy to halt their new rule prohibiting the selling or dispensing of hydroxychloroquine or chloroquine for the treatment or prevention of COVID-19.”

“The Board of Pharmacy and the State Medical Board of Ohio should revisit the issue, listen to the best medical science, and open the process up for comment and testimony from experts,” DeWine said.

  No Election in November?

President Trump did the ultimate troll on the media this morning when he tweeted out the following:

Donald J. Trump  @realDonaldTrump

With Universal Mail-In Voting (not Absentee Voting, which is good), 2020 will be the most INACCURATE & FRAUDULENT Election in history. It will be a great embarrassment to the USA. Delay the Election until people can properly, securely and safely vote???

8:46 AM · Jul 30, 2020

All the MSM and Twitter was set on fire with tweets and articles from the Left losing their minds.   tinylaughing
"He can't do this!"  "There it is, he's going to become the dictator, just as we said!"

Blah, blah, blah.   minusculebiggrin

Tim Cast was quick to follow with a Twitter post telling them the President absolutely CAN do this:

This was written in 2007 about Directive 51 Specifically questioning the legal authority of ED51 and the President's ability to postpone elections due to a catastrophe https://slate.com/human-interest

According to Directive 51, the POTUS has every right to postpone anything government-related if it poses a threat to the public. I'd say this "pandemic" would qualify.
He also needs to make sure the people get a fair and just outcome/count from the election, and mail-in voting makes it too easy to cheat.

This is just typical trolling by Trump.

 Calm down.  minusculechairshot

He probably just needed to keep the media busy while they go out and do some business for America without having them there to twist the narrative.

Or...

He is forcing the Left to stop pushing mail-in voting and agree to going to the polls. If they don't give in, I wouldn't be surprised if he did go through with this.

First It's Masks - What Comes Next?
Posted by: Mystic Wanderer - 07-30-2020, 04:13 PM - Forum: Off Topic - Replies (17)

Most everyone has to wear a mask at some place in their area. I don't know of any place where everything is completely opened up yet, do you?

What's next?  Will "they" start making us wear goggles too?

Why, yes, I believe they will (try)!  tinyshocked

Quote:Dr. Anthony Fauci suggested that people wear goggles or face shields as an added measure of protection against contracting the coronavirus, according to a report.

“If you have goggles or an eye shield, you should use it,” Fauci, 79, the top US infectious disease expert, told ABC News Chief Medical Correspondent Dr. Jennifer Ashton on Wednesday.
Enlarge ImageAnthony FauciReuters

When asked if eye protection will become a formal recommendation at some point, he said, “It might, if you really want perfect protection of the mucosal surfaces.”

Boy, I tell you what, they are doing everything in their power to put the fear of death in people!
Now, they're telling us we need to wear a face shield or goggles?

Nope!  I will not comply, especially when I see through what they're doing.   tinyok

Quote:“You have mucosa in the nose, mucosa in the mouth, but you also have mucosa in the eye,” he said. “Theoretically, you should protect all the mucosal surfaces. So if you have goggles or an eye shield you should use it.”

He added that while goggles and eye or face shields are “not universally recommended” at this time, “if you really want to be complete, you should probably use it if you can.”

So, he is saying that our eyes can project mucus out six feet and hit someone else?  tinywhat

If they have their mask on, then this is the only explanation I can take from having to wear eye protection. And if masks aren't mandatory, then it means the virus isn't that big of a threat, right?  (It isn't a threat anyway, no worse than the flu is.)

Quote:Fauci also addressed when people should get tested if they believe they’ve been exposed to the bug, since there are no official guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention or the National Institutes of Health on the matter.

Nope! Won't be getting tested either, especially since we now know the tests are tainted and only used to increase the total of cases so they can keep this thing going, and as a way to make tracking mandatory.

Okay, that's enough of this for me...
