  US Senator Championing Censorship
Posted by: ABNARTY - 10-29-2020, 08:53 PM - Forum: General News and Events - Replies (13)

The context is the Senate 230 hearing with Facebook, Google, and Twitter this week. The discussion is between Jack Dorsey of Twitter and Senator Tammy Baldwin (D, WI). The tenor of the hearing at this point was Big Tech and their role in deciding what gets posted and what gets hidden. SEN Baldwin opens up with:

"I believe the tech companies here today need to take more action, not less, to combat misinformation. Including misinformation on the election, misinformation on the COVID-19 pandemic, and misinformation and posts meant to incite violence."

I find this astonishing. Amazing. Confusing. Chilling. We have a sitting US Senator actually telling private companies they need to censor people online MORE. She is cheerleading for private entities to basically contract out silencing her opposition. The Blackwater of expression let's say. To silence that with which she disagrees. If she disagrees with you, well it's fine for an unaccountable corporation to shut you out.

There is always the argument these are private companies. They can show or hide what they want. Nope. Not under Section 230 protection can they do that. The whole point of the hearing. Big Tech wants their cash cows to remain a litigation free zone. But it seems they want to play social administrator too.

There are some who argue this is just online, on a few platforms. No one is stopping you from using less used platforms online or not be online at all. To that I offer, what makes you believe this is where it stops? Since when has government reach, once acquiesced, ever receded? When has a bureaucracy ever decided it needs less authority?

I can be 100% sure who I am NOT voting for when time comes up.

The bugs of earth are interesting and the hypothesis that like bugs could inhabit Mars and other places is nothing really new but interesting nonetheless

  [France] The Riviera Knife Attack.
Posted by: BIAD - 10-29-2020, 10:11 AM - Forum: Europe - Replies (34)

Quote:Gunshots in Nice.

French Riviera local news
(10.10.am French time)

'Gunshots in the centre of Nice – Local media Nice Matin has reported this morning that gunshots have been
heard in the centre of town. The shots were heard around 9am this morning creating a scene of panic in the
city centre.

The mayor of Nice tweeted that the “shots were heard following a knife attack in the Notre-Dame area” and
one man has been arrested by police. The mayor has asked people to avoid the area.

The mayor has confirmed a "terrorist attack" in which one person has been killed and several people injured.

A minute's silence has just been held at the National Assembly, in tribute to the victim of the knife attack in front
of the Notre-Dame basilica in Nice (Alpes-Maritimes). The meeting is suspended...'

This is still a young story and we'll see how it's further reported as a 'terrorist' incident.

  The CIA On Time Travel
Posted by: Mystic Wanderer - 10-28-2020, 07:06 PM - Forum: Metaphysics and Related Topics - Replies (13)

I came across this video last night by accident and thought it might be of interest to some of you. It's actual documentation from the CIA regarding Time Travel.

WOW!

How many didn't know this existed?

Quote:The “Analysis and Assessment of Gateway Process” was declassified by the CIA in 2017
This Gateway Process was a meditation lesson that taught humans to harness their own electromagnetic energy waves which come from their body. It also taught them how to control brain waves, and use them to, essentially, detach from time and space. As the body is turned into a coherent oscillator vibrating in harmony with the surrounding electrostatic medium, the specific exercises included in the Gateway process allow the participant to build up the energy field surrounding their body, presumably by using energy from the earth’s resonant field (the same resonant field that was the basis for much of Nikola Tesla’s work) which the body then entrains because of its ability to resonate with it. This is big. Aside from the obvious question of what nefarious purpose the CIA was hoping to achieve with this process, it’s hard to miss the deduction of what detaching the from time and space means — fourth dimensional travel with all that it implies (heaven, afterlife, a different dimension). This talks about many ideas such as binaural technologies, the law of attraction.

Quote:President Trump on Monday said Sen. Kamala Harris’ frequent bursts of laughter at serious questions suggests “there’s something wrong” with the Democratic vice presidential candidate.

Trump mocked Harris’ “60 Minutes” interview, broadcast Sunday, during a campaign rally in Allentown, Pa.

“Did you see [Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden’s] performance on that show? The only thing almost as bad was Kamala, with the laugh. ‘Haha, that’s so funny. Hahaha.’ She kept laughing. I said, ‘Is there something wrong with her, too?'” Trump quipped.

  GGG2020 - Not an entry
Posted by: Ninurta - 10-27-2020, 05:30 AM - Forum: Rogue's Writers Contests - Replies (1)

The following is NOT an entry in the GGG contest, but it comes around the same time as the contest, so I felt a need to differentiate it.

===========================================================================

As it turned out, The Pandemic DID have a second wave. It ran all though the winter, then tapered off again once spring came. The second wave was quite a bit worse than the first. I suspect that was down to folks being worn out with putting up with the bullshit from the first wave. We ("we" meaning me and mine) survived the first 4 months of the second wave on canned goods and stocks of food previously purchased during the first wave and laid back, but of course nothing lasts forever. Especially when you are eating it, and more especially after the power stops working. It turned out that canned goods and dry goods were the way to go, but even those eventually ran out.

So eventually, the food stocks ran out, and I had to start hunting to feed us. I was good with that, and had prepared accordingly, stocking up on ammunition beforehand as well as food. So, when the food ran out, the ammunition kicked in. Life was still good.

I did have to shoot a few looters, but I was good with that, too. When Law and Order finally disintegrated, I found that I was in my element - I no longer had to put up with anyone's shit, so of course I didn't... but a few people did insist on trying me. I did not eat them, of course - not out of squeamishness about cannibalism, since I was not a squeamish man, but more out of concern for The Pandemic, and a desire not to catch it... and then there was the problem of prion diseases that had started making the rounds. Better safe than sorry. Considering the places I had been and the things I had done, I had not lived to be an old man by taking stupid chances... so I dumped their carcasses into sinkholes. Deep ones.

That lasted just over 5 years. Eventually, I was down to black powder, "roll your own" cartridges - no more store bought brass ammo. Actually, the looters had occupied most of my store-bought brass  ammo. To make matters worse, the only black powder arm I owned was a Colt 1851 Navy - style revolving pistol, six shots to empty. So I carried that  - loaded with roll-your-own cartridges with 18 or 24 loads in reserve in an ammo pouch, waiting to be loaded mostly just for self defense - for emergency shooting only. For basic hunting shots I had made a bow and arrow set.

Yeah, it had come down to that. Civilization had not returned in the previous 5 or 6 years, and it was starting to look like it never would...

Then, the Zombies came. Lots of them. I was not as fast as I had been when I was a young man.

  UFO On Demand

This was really weird.
During a live stream the other night on Pink Patriot Podcast, there was a pulsating light just beside Kate's head. Before anyone notices it, Alara mentioned that it would be cool if a UFO went zooming over the sky, then this happened...

They notice it around the 30:07 mark.

Pretty cool, eh?

Wife witnesses my Sleep Paralysis Episode
Posted by: Bally002 - 10-26-2020, 12:43 AM - Forum: General Health Topics - Replies (4)

In the past I've had many sleep paralysis episodes over the years mostly in bed.  Some have been frightening, accompanied by visions, others I just ignored and went back to 'real' sleep.  I attempt to make noise (mumbling) and move alerting 'true love' beside me and have asked her if she ever hears me at night then wake me up.

For the first time today my wife witnessed an episode in daylight.

I had a long day yesterday, (Sunday) felling some grand old gum trees, 'Spotted Gums' that had been basically killed by last years fires and were dropping branches from some 60 feet up. This was at a nearby neighbors property.  One was close to 4 feet thick.   So my elder son helped me.  Took my better saws.  Did the job, cut, billeted the tree trunks. and loaded about 3 tons of block timber and went home.  As I get older I find the saws getting heavier.  What's this got to do with sleep paralysis ?  Methinks I over exerted myself, hot humid day up in the hills.

After this my son and I drove home.  Unhitched the trailer of timber and emptied the utility.  I tested the hydraulic log splitter to see how it handled some of the more knotty blocks.   After that I drove the son into town where he lives and I returned home.  I was feeling tired but I had loaded up with plenty of water all day so while preparing dinner I chucked back a couple of frothies and waited for "Truey' to get home from work.  It was the Grand Final' night of the NRL so I cleaned up the big screen and set the lounge-room table.

'Truey' came home.  After other chores and dinner we settled down to cheer our opposing teams.  Not long into the second half of game play I got very tired.  Excused myself and went upstairs to bed.  My head hit the pillow and I was out for the count.  A storm hit about 1am waking me up.  Thunder, lighting and the obligatory heavy rain.  I got up, went downstairs and unplugged some of the utilities.  Except my computer.  I rolled a dart and checked out a few things on the Tube, news and got caught up transferring old pics from a card to some folders.  Storm had passed and before I knew it I could see twilight through the window.  Crikey!  Went and made a coffee.  Fed the dogs and cat, let the chooks out and settled on the lounge with the TV on catching up with the highlights of last nights game.  I set up a pillow, laid back.  'Truey' comes down and we had a chuckle about me waking at 1am.  She sets herself up on the adjoining lounge.  TV is on, news etc.   It's now a little after 7am.

I don't remember nodding off.  I remember the episode though.  I could hear voices, most likely the TV.  I couldn't move but I could think and through the slits in my eyes I could discern movement.  Again most likely the screen of the TV.  I wasn't aware I was on the lounge, just aware that I was having an episode so I struggled to move, trying to call out but only muffled sounds emerged from my closed mouth.  I gave in, went back to sleep.  It was shortly after that I woke up.  The 8.30am news had just started.  Truey looks over and says, "What were you dreaming? You were acting like one of the dogs having a bad dream."  I told her what happened.  She said, "Well I was about to wake you because you were twitching, especially your feet and hands and you were mumbling something. Then you stopped."

Sorry for the long intro but after much thought it may have occurred because of the circumstances I outlined.  It was also interesting to me that my wife witnessed it.  She told me it went on and off for a couple of minutes.  This might coincide with me initially trying at times to roll out of the paralysis, stopping and trying again then I stopped resisting and woke up.  No demons on my chest, no scary dreams just that godamn paralysis.

Makes me wonder though.  My wife's analogy. When the dogs act like that, are they having an episode and trying to wake themselves.

Thanks for reading,

Kind regards,

Bally:)
