Kroger Employee Refuses Service To Cop

Then The Company’s Response Response Was Awful.

Quote:Alexandria, Louisiana – An employee at the Alexandria Kroger store refused to serve a police officer because they were a cop, and the company’s response has been less than stellar.
Pineville Police Department Pfc. Sabrina Farace advised us that she was wearing a police shirt when she was grocery shopping with her daughter at the Alexandria Kroger store. The checkout clerk saw her shirt, asked her if she was police officer, and then refused to check her out.

Pfc. Farace’s provided us with her account of events:

At Blue Lives Matter, it’s our general policy to wait for the company to response before publishing stories about an officer being refused service. Unfortunately, it appears that a response may not be forthcoming. After complaining, Pfc. Sabrina Farace advised that she did receive a phone call from a Kroger corporate manager who asked her what had happened. After being told the story, the manger said that he would call her back in a day or so. It has now been almost two weeks since this incident occurred and she still has not received a response.

Kroger appears to be ignoring the situation, or at least not being responsive. Be sure to share this story and get the word out and maybe Kroger will finally respond to this situation.

I am getting so sick and tired of this asinine, ignorant behavior towards cops.

Especially from the employees of a business.

The last I remember, the motto "Right to Refuse Service" applies to the store OWNER or MANAGER, not a damn employee.
Since when are employees givin' free reign over the customers?

And who in the hell is going to come to their aid when someone calls 911 for robbery or any other criminal act?
Santa Claus?
Oh wait, I know.....BLM

This supervisor needs to be reprimanded as well IMO.

His response was terrible ..."We have to check customers out"
WTH does that mean?

Never once has anyone asked me what I do for a living. EVER.
And yes, I have been to that Kroger in LA years ago.
You know what? No one cared about me enough to ask anything.
So I call bullshit on that deplorable excuse of an explanation.

Then he wanted to get an attitude when she mentioned the media.
Oh yeah, he thought that wasn't nice.
Hey asshole, your cashier was much more rude than that!!

Businesses need to keep their employees in check.
The local police are the ones to provide your store safety.

Need to leave the political statements outside the ring and tell your cashiers that if they refuse to wait on someone, they can loose their job.

What you are doing is discriminating against the police.
Do you really think that is a smart move to alienate yourself from them?
Bet your cashier will be the first one to hightail it out of their, if the SHTF for some reason. pfffft.

I agree.

That is what I am having an issue with, that the employees are allowed to act in such a manner.
What they do in their 'off time' at home is one thing.
But they need to leave their political angst at home, not be able to bring it to work.

And store managers ought to make it clear they will not condone such treatment towards LEO from employees being as not only are they a paying customer (discrimination laws and what not) but they also provide security for the store.

UPDATE on response from Kroger:

Kroger Response To Refusing Service To Police Officer

Kroger has responded to their employees refusing service to a police officer in Alexandria, Louisiana and Spring, Texas.

A Kroger corporate representative reached out to us with the following:

And from the same source link above, is comments from the local police department...

Quote:The Pineville Police Department also addressed the incident:

Our Department learned through social media there was an incident at the Alexandria Kroger store where an employee refused service to an off-duty member of the Pineville Police Department on or about September 27, 2016. The officer was off-duty and wearing a T-shirt that was pro-Law Enforcement. The social media post indicated that the cashier noticed the shirt and asked if she was a police officer. The officer acknowledged she was an officer and was then told she could not serve her. The Officer wrote she spoke with a person she believed to be a manager, and when nothing changed, she left the business.

While the Pineville Police Department does not in any way accept the actions of this particular Kroger employee, the refusal of service appears to be personal in nature and not representative of the Kroger organization. The Alexandria Kroger store has historically been a strong supporter of local Law Enforcement.

This afternoon, I was able to speak with Management in the corporate office concerning the actions of the employee. I was assured this was an isolated incident, and that the store was investigating the employee action and would take appropriate personnel action.
It is disappointing that incidents such as these occur in a community that has shown overwhelming support for Police Officers, Firefighters and First responders. We are thankful Kroger has acknowledged the incident, condemned it and are following their procedures for personnel action.

This makes me sick to my stomach!   minusculepuke

If that woman ever needs help in the future the police should respond, "Sorry, I can't serve you because you don't like police", or some other stupid shit like that.  I know they would protect her anyway, because that's what police do: They rise ABOVE the lower standards of some of the people they serve.  But, it would still be nice to teach this bitch a lesson!

I didn't notice them saying the bitch would be fired.  I'm not racist, and the comment I'm about to make isn't meant to be racist, but to make a point...

Most businesses will treat black people differently because they are afraid of getting hit with a discrimination law suit if they fire them. It didn't mention that the employee was black, but I can tell she probably was.  That kind of behavior says all I need to know. I worked in a large facility with many employees, and I recognize...  well, never mind.  I'll stop there before I get myself in trouble with the viewers.

But, anyhow, the difference in how whites and blacks were reprimanded for the same "mistake" was very noticeable.  Blacks got away with things that whites would be fired for.... and they knew it, so they took advantage of the color of their skin giving them more freedom to do things others could never do.  It's getting to the point that whites need to start suing for discrimination because of the color of their skin, at least where I worked.
