A very interesting look at a largely unknown aspect of U.S. law and the power of the presidency.

Cheers

Im not very good with US law, but if Trump can do this, then come January Biden can also do it, even if trump is still doing it. Since Biden has been called (right or wrongly) POTUS, the US will have 2 POTUS in power at the same time using the same laws to fight

Yes, any president can invoke these powers given certain conditions.  IMO, this law is open for abuse.

Were Trump to do this, my guess is it would be before Biden is installed as POTUS.

There is also the detail of who the armed forces rank and file would support.  I don't think the bulk of them are Biden supporters.

Cheers

A sizeable proportion of the US "Unorganized Militia" are former soldiers, and know that the UCMJ requires soldiers, whether Militia or Regular Army, to disobey illegal orders. Biden was not legitimately elected, and would not be a legitimate President, and therefore could not issue any legal orders, making all of his orders illegal by definition. Same goes for usurper-select Harris, when Biden is kicked to the curb by Pelosi and Harris is installed as a puppet. As such, all military branches, whether Militia or more organized, are required by the UCMJ to disobey any of his alleged orders, under pain of court-martial.

Problem solved.

.
Diogenes was eating bread and lentils for supper. He was seen by the philosopher Aristippus, who lived comfortably by flattering the king.

Said Aristippus, ‘If you would learn to be subservient to the king you would not have to live on lentils.’ Said Diogenes, ‘Learn to live on lentils and you will not have to be subservient to the king.’

I would only hope that the country I love (and am raising my children to love) isn't petty enough to wonder which party leader is adored more by the military.

Elections happen, consequences are real. When Trump won in 2016 I was vocal about my disdain, but also of my duty to respect the office and wish him the best. This should (and needs to) go both ways.

Probably more than half of the military are firmly in the left's camp.  I've been in and around the military for almost 40 years now.  It is incredibly rare to spot an employee identifying themselves as a righty.  I still get a daily newsletter from a previous assignment ... nothing but left leaning/supporting articles.  Last one of note said the military is gonna seriously re-look the re-naming of posts (like Fort Bragg and Fort Hood) the minute Joe Biden is inaugurated.

I would bet money that the military (at the Federal Level) will have no (direct) role (aside from casting ballots) in these goings-on.  Can't speak for what an elected Governor might do with his/her National Guard elements.

If Biden is sworn-in as President, then there you go!!

The results of the election are far from decided.  Ain't that strange?  First you move Tax Day ...
'Cause if they catch you in the back seat trying to pick her locks
They're gonna send you back to Mother in a cardboard box
You better run!

"Far from decided"? Why?

The results from election day are clear. And the "fraud" has been touted in the media and non existent in court (probably because the whole thing about proof being needed...).

Either way, our military should be neutral to this. Individuals can be left, right, or indifferent. But as a whole they should (and must) remain neutral. If not, banana republic at best.

One of the curses of social media is that it gives everyone a platform from which to deliver their message, regardless to how nonsensical, hateful, or deceptive, that opinion may be, there is always another like minded soul out there, that will find it, latch on to it, and spread it like a virus.

Even though I try to take everything I see or read on the internet with a grain of salt, I too have found myself, on occasion, sucked into the void of the black hole of deception, manipulation, and conformity.

Very few things on the internet is worth the time it takes to click on it.

For every one person that read this post. About 7.99 billion have not.

Yet I still post.  tinyinlove

Sidney Powell Not Part of Trump’s Legal Team: Giuliani Statement
BY IVAN PENTCHOUKOV

Former federal prosecutor Sidney Powell is not part of President Donald Trump’s legal team, according to a statement from Rudy Giuliani, the head of the president’s post-election legal effort.
“Sidney Powell is practicing law on her own. She is not a member of the Trump Legal Team. She is also not a lawyer for the President in his personal capacity,” Giuliani stated.
Trump personally announced Powell’s addition to his legal team a week ago. Powell appeared at a Nov. 19 press conference with Trump’s legal team, which also includes senior Trump campaign legal adviser Jenna Ellis.
“I agree with the campaign’s statement that I am not part of the campaign’s legal team. I never signed a retainer agreement or sent the President or the campaign a bill for my expenses or fees,” Powell said in a statement. “My intent has always been to expose all the fraud I could find and let the chips fall where they may—whether it be upon Republicans or Democrats.”
Powell has aggressively promoted allegations about electronic voting systems used during the 2020 election, specifically machines and software operated by Dominion Voting Systems. She has alleged that the system switched votes to former Vice President Joe Biden from Trump, either by tampering with the physical devices or remote hacking.
Dominion Voting Systems has rejected the allegations. A spokesman for the company said on Nov. 22 that the company’s software didn’t switch votes to Biden from Trump.
Powell has represented former national security adviser Michael Flynn since 2019 in one of the flagship cases spawned from the investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller. A legal blitz from her team has resulted in the withdrawal of the charges against Flynn which is yet to be decided on by a federal judge.
Powell supported her allegations about Dominion Voting Systems with a partly redacted affidavit from a person who claimed to have witnessed the software being used to steal an election for Venezuelan socialist dictator Hugo Chávez. The affidavit was subsequently filed in federal court as part of a lawsuit by Lin Wood, another attorney with the Trump campaign.
Powell said on Nov. 21 that the president’s lawyers will file a lawsuit of “biblical” proportions soon, alleging that some election officials were embroiled in a pay-to-play scheme with a prominent manufacturer of voting software.
“The evidence I’m compiling is overwhelming that this software tool was used to shift millions of votes from President Trump and other Republican candidates to Biden and other Democrat candidates,” Powell said. “We are proceeding to prepare our lawsuit and plan to file it this week. It will be epic.”
One of the other claims Powell promoted during the Trump campaign press conference also stemmed from a filing in the Wood lawsuit. The filing alleged that a number of precincts in Michigan had 100 percent or more people vote than there were registered voters. The conservative Powerline Blog noted that the townships listed were from Minnesota, not Michigan.
