Happy Anniversary Big G !

Sorry for the delay, yesterday and earlier today, I couldn't really log onto RN or any other website as my computer kept freezing...after another one of those damn Windows 10 updates. I had to refresh the RN front page like 20 times before it'd even show up...

But a part of what you've written, Gordi, struck a cord here on this side, as it's identical to a situation I've been in since launching this business here, five years ago. As you may know, I specialize in delivering and installing medical esthetic equipment, i.e. laser machines for permanent hair removal...

So I'll quote you:

Quote:To explain the money situation:
I arrange all the gigs and deal with all of the venues.
I Supply all of the PA equipment, desk, speakers, stands, cables, mics etc. (Everything we need to gig live)
I supply the transportation, do all the driving, provide all of the fuel, and pick him up and drop him off at his front door.
I also have to do all of the loading of the gear at the start of the night, and unloading at the end (as that happens at my own house before I pick him up and after I drop him off)
We supply our own instruments, but I do the bulk of the singing and "front" the band.

Guess what share of the money I already give him?

Go on.... you know you want to....?

Well, it's 50%.

Yup, I give him half of what we take in, but apparently it's "not enough" so it looks like I've wasted another year getting another guy up to speed. (This is the third time in four years)

EXACT SAME THING !

I've been building this thing for three years before hiring anyone. Last two years, I've tried three different guys. Like you, I pamper them, supply the vehicle, pay the gas ( I do between 80,000 to 100,000 kilometers a year so imagine the amount of gas I buy in a year ), arrange the drop offs and pick ups, handle all the phone calls and scheduling, handle all the paperwork, give them the easiest deliveries ( as in no stairs to carry the apparatus up and down, i.e. ) and I give them, like you, half my pay cut if we deliver it together; and full pay cut if they deliver it alone. (Meaning that I make a negative as I supply everything...)

And guess what? Not enough. Third one I've had to tell him to fuck off. Too much is too much. Always late - and in this business you CAN'T be late - always complaining about something...while getting an above average income...go figure...

So you aren't alone. Reality is, Gordi, you have to find someone like YOU. But gems are harder to find than crappy rocks... : )

I know the feeling...

Anytime Big G !! Anytime !!

This van has more than enough room for a Big guy like you !!

Oh...the steering wheel being on the left hand side doesn't bother you I hope ? minusculetongue

I'll share one of the perks I get from this business. Being on the road all the time gives me time to appreciate what transforms in front of my eyes, every single season...

This was taken in Mont Tremblant yesterday...I had to stop and take a pic of the mountain on my left, the view was breath taking with our trees changing colors...

I thought of Guohua yesterday. The girl whom I was delivering a machine to said that the area was under a Chinese invasion at the moment lol ...

Yep...I saw 2 buses filled with Chinese tourists at the truck stop where I took that pic. They LOVE what our outdoors look like at this time of the year.

And I agree with them 1000 % !!!!

Where's the terrible sideways winds and snow...? Where's the ravishing wolves and untouched wilderness?
I was under the impression that Canada was a vast pre-tundra land where even Bigfoot faltered to go.

Now -with this image and the recent visit of the Prince William and his bonny Missus, I'm starting to think
that the television and the old National Geographic magazines I found in BIAD's shed may not be telling me
the whole truth.

Errrr...backorder until December I hear...but it could just be rumors...

Hugh Jackman visits the Old Montreal every once in a while but even the paparazzis have a hard time taking a picture of him...

Virginity my friend, is a virtue long gone...

Nope. Bigfoot here is called l'Abominable Homme des Neiges (Abominable Snowman)...he's white and mean and makes tons of tourists disappear from the woods every year...tougher to get a picture of than Hugh Jackman...

Actually, our History, our origins, are all one big lie...but that for another thread...or a book.

Oh don't tempt me!
BIAD -sans high-heels, would be in his element shocking polite Canadians and
shaving areas of himself in the form of a maple leaf.

I have a lumberjack shirt and maybe somewhere in the back, probably the
Monty Python sketch. So we could at least attempt to earn our corn.

Just a thought, if they do make a movie of the 'gathering'... will I get one
of those chairs with my name on the back?!

@"guohua" , yes we are done for the season...stopped about 4 weeks early but the last few spots are high rent and not very good for us overall.

Plus we would have ended up 150 miles away, where as this past week I only had to go 35 miles one way. LOL.

Now then....I am going to take this week off.
Then start looking for a regular sucker job (already have, but nothing jumps out at me yet).

What's a bitch, I am not only used to being self-employed, but used to working outdoors....and wearing Levis.
So not sure how I will like working indoors now plus having to 'buy' clothes to fit what ever damn dress code they have.

As far as opening a Airbrush store online, I asked Jim today if he still wanted to go forward with it and he said yes.
So my next project will be buying one of the business plans (Weebly) and start working on getting our products (dozens & dozens of sample) in there.
As well as images for headwear/car tags

Anyhoo---talk about new changes after 30 years.  minusculespooked
Kind scary in a way.

So how is Rick doing?
Feeling better I hope.

Hi Senona, My Dear Friend.
After 30 years that would be a Drastic change for you.

To bad there are no Flea Markets or Park & Swap places out there, I would think you could pay the spot rent and set up a booth.
Maybe try that swirl paint thing we looked at on youtube.
We wish you guys Luck.

Rick is feeling really good.
No surgeries is a Real Plus, between my Herbal and Acupuncture treatments and their Radiation and Other treatments Rick is Improving Greatly.
He can eat and sleep and walk and raise his arms again.

Rick is actually doing 100 times better than 8 months ago, that was close then, they were sure he wouldn't make it.
One of his friends (S P) says he's to mean to die, The Devil is Afraid of him and God wouldn't know What To Do With Him!
Thank You for asking, Rick just walked in and says Hi,,, to you and Jim.

Hope you find a Sucker Job, try any of the Colleges in your area, they normally Hire part time people to Lock and Unlock door and patrol the campus.
No prior security experience normally necessary. I worked for Phoenix College for a short while, until these grown men (Professor's) would call at midnight and  require an escort to their car because they were afraid of the Dark.
After I told 5 or 8 of them to Turn In Their Man Cards or Grow A Pair I was Talked To By My Boss, he said they were worried about angry students or the part of town the college was in.
I asked him what he thought I would Do for them, I'm Unarmed and 5' 5" and weigh 105 lbs. Was I going to Scare Some One Away? I tolds him they are all just a bunch of Mama's boys and Girlie Men and should leave when it's light out.
I quit after that, I couldn't Stomach being around full grown men afraid of their own shadow.

Just  Thought.

Glad you and Rick are back and that Rick is doing better !!! Good news finally !

5' 5" and 105 lbs and I have a feeling that you could have kicked any of those grown up's asses anytime lol !!!

What is scary is not the dark or shadows but having men like that as examples of being adults. Damn, no wonder the new generations are turning into sissies...

Really happy to have you both back and kicking !!

@"Sol" Thank You, We're Very Excited to be home again and Rick feeling Great!

According to the Rules, I was not allowed to confront or detain anyone, only Observe and Report.
Could I have? I think so, Yes, Sure I could Have, But did I want To Protect A Full Grown Man Without any Disabilities? NO!  minusculenonono

Like I told the Computer Science Adjunct Professor who told me to carry his material encase he had to run, Kiss My Little Chinese Ass, You can Carry Your Own Bullshit!  smallnotamused
I'm sure he's the one who called and complained the most.
I didn't care.  minusculetongue
I was only working to keep busy and my mind active, that's important at our age.  minusculeknocks

But you're right, those are the people instructing our young, they don't believe in Masculinity in a Man nd They are Very Afraid of any Confrontation that's Not In Their Classroom or on they subject of their Choice.

Rick Says, Hi  minusculehello, he's going out side to start his truck and smell Diesel Fumes and clean our fifth wheel.
