Who is a patriot? We are a nation of peoples that fled war, famine, disease; oppression, tyranny. We are those who are looking for an opportunity to express free will. We are not a racist society; we are the epitome of it. Our Constitution is nothing short of genius (serious debate between wildly different factions produced this).

I will disagree with your statement just because I am an American first, a Cherokee second and we are not the epitome of a racist country, we are an example of a country that isn't...

As for who is a patriot?

I am.

I swore an oath once to protect this country from all enemies, foreign and domestic.

I wrote a blank check for my life to fulfill that.

I didn't walk out of that oath when I left the service.

I'm not going to go batshit crazy and start mowing down people anywhere.

HOWEVER.

When it comes time to DEFEND my country, I am right here with the same check in hand.

Or as my uncle says when asked how he lost his arm in Viet Nam, he replies...

"I didn't LOSE an arm. I GAVE one."

Happy Independence Day.

Kaepernick shit on his cause the moment he knelt at the American flag from my standpoint.

The American flag doesn't represent police any more than it does engineers, trash collectors, or doctors.

Furthermore, he used his employment to further his cause.  I sure as shit couldn't waltz into my place of employment and start lobbying politically lol, they'd call me into the office, write me up, and say "do that shit on your own time."

An utter joke.  Now that I think about it, has anybody seen or heard anything about him being out amongst the protestors?

I mean, this should be his bread and butter right?

Epitome of this society as NOT RACIST was my descriptive intent. Patriotism seems a term relegated to a moldy dusty attic. When did *pride* in ones Country become heretical thought? Hugs to your Uncle.

Will National Football League fans tolerate a newly designated Black National Anthem "Lift E"vry Voice and Sing" be played before the Star Spangled Banner during the first games? Politics and sports do not mix (kills the point of essence; innocence/joy/wonder).

The billionaires are rubbing the cracks of their asses up and down the faces of their audience.  The fans had the right idea from the get-go: Turn off the damned TV.

This massive hallucinatory misunderstanding of the common sense American populace by Corporate Vampires/Big Tech and Media Toadies of the Left will (hopefully) destroy them. Such miscalculation of the backbone/resolve of this nations residents is almost criminal (too easy a victory).

Nah ... the average American is addicted to TV.  Much as the pack-a-day smoker ... isn't exactly chain smoking.  Addicted all the same.

Nah. They won't be put against the wall until and unless the Marxists win. The Marxists will use them as cannon fodder until they win, at which point any left alive will be put up against the wall as a threat to State Security.

Diogenes was eating bread and lentils for supper. He was seen by the philosopher Aristippus, who lived comfortably by flattering the king.

Said Aristippus, ‘If you would learn to be subservient to the king you would not have to live on lentils.’ Said Diogenes, ‘Learn to live on lentils and you will not have to be subservient to the king.’

This.

This right here is the way forward.

It was back in the early 90's that Jesse Jackson wrote to me trying to get me to enroll in his "Rainbow Coalition", when I was attending the University of North Carolina on a "Native American" scholarship. I wrote back and told him I wasn't interested, as everyone I knew was some color of the rainbow, so trying to promote some colors over others was disingenuous and, well, just plain wrong.

I believe it was Graham Greene, who as I recall, is Lakota, who pointed out that hyphenated "Native-American" is utter bullshit, since everyone born here, regardless of color, is a "native", by definition.

Just be Americans if you live in America. Separating by race, or any other criteria, is by definition Segregation. So just be Americans.

I don't see a problem redefining the debate as between "Americans" and "Others" - i.e. anyone who DOESN'T identify as simply America, who insists on identifying as something other than America, to include hyphenated IDs like "Muslim-American", "African-American", "Irish-American", "Italian-American", "Native-American", "Hispanic-American", etc. The one thing I notice in ALL of those identifications is that "American" comes in SECOND in their ID, not first.

I don't need those kind of alleged "americans".

One commentator I enjoy reading is Victor Hanson.  His grasp of history imparts a LONG VIEW look at events.

I have to confess that I in the middle of my ink madness have a tattoo that says "NA".

In my defense, at the time it was a running joke in the Tribe that NA for Native American actually meant NA for Non Applicable to everyone else on the planet.

I'm American first Cherokee second.

As it should be, but I'm quite happy with my skill-set defending my country considering the technical upgrades the other Americans have brought me...

@"Lumenari" - I respect that... but it may be only because I understand somewhat of the historical relationship between the Cherokee and the US... The key there, perhaps, being the term "US"...

But, yeah, I do believe you are on "Our" side in the matter...

Fuck a damned mob. I've been set up to deal with mobs for some time now. You'll never read about it in the news, unless they start checking abandoned mine shafts around here, which ain't very damned likely.

Fuck a damned mob.

On the matter of Kaepernick, I just can't get upset about someone being a complete dumbass and not realizing what "taking the knee" means in the real world - i.e. not his fantasy world - and what it has meant, historically and in human terms,  for millennia. Not my problem if he couldn't be assed to research what a "Pledge of Fealty" entails, in historically human terms - i.e. if he refuses to be human, or if he prefers it to mean something not human or historically accepted. Kaepernick's "preferences" are not my problem, nor do they redefine the accepted "Oath of Fealty". They are nothing at all outside Kaepernick's mind.

Fuck Kaepernick. He's a nothing, and apparently claims not to even be human.

Nothing will happen; just a lot of ceremonial bunting burning. The lot of them (fascists) are cowards. They wouldn't show up for their own Revolution even if somewhat organized and prizes were involved

Yup, couldn't find anything about Kaepernick involving himself with the george floyd protests. He could have been out there being a voice of calm and reason, maybe.

I did, however, see that he's working with Disney to initiate a series on racial injustices, aka, cha ching $$$
