Immigrating to Canada ?
#1
Cape Breton, NS is welcoming you.

Cape Breton if Donald Trump wins...

This website was meant as a joke that isn't one, in reality, now that Mr Trump has been elected.

There is a lot of rumors going around about celebrities moving to Canada and as many of you have heard, our own Canadian Immigration Server crashed from heavy traffic, Tuesday evening, as the trend started to go towards a Trump win.

As a Canadian, here are my thoughts on all of this.

Moving out is simply evading a problem that each and every one of US will have to eventually face down the road; fixing a corrupted establishment.

We are no different here, my friends. The stink that goes on behind our parliament closed doors is as bad as yours.

And by the way, why would we accept Barbara Streisand, Cher or Ariana Grande when it took us so long to get rid of Justin Bieber? LOL

But let's be real here. These celebrities have no intentions of moving out, it's just good publicity for them at the moment.

For everyone else wanting to move out, and here lies a profound problem, my question to you is why?

Your country has been through divisions before, is till being divided and will most probably always be. That is the nature of democracy; everyone is allowed his or her own opinion, be it good or bad - which is in the way you perceive it, btw...

Don't think Canada is divided? Think again. On my last trip to Mexico, last year(just before our federal elections), I met a guy who lived in Winnipeg. We had a few drinks, had great discussions, up to the point when he asked me who I'd be voting for. I am not one to hide behind my opinions or beliefs; it hasn't always helped me but hey...nobody's perfect : ) So I told him I'd be voting for Trudeau as I had enough of the Harper regime. My newly Winnipeg friend turned into a political stalker...pissed off, angry and disrespectful (every time we saw him after that revelation) where to the point where Louise (my girlfriend) thought that I was about to punch his lights out, I guess she saw in my face that this dude was now really getting under my skin.

But I decided to just walk away and to respect his opinion. I saw him one last time before we left - and he said "Have Fun with Trudeau..." with this smirk on his face that I would have loved to knock out of the park but I just replied "Yeah...you have a nice life too..." and turned my back to him.

Elections - no matter where they are - have this way of splitting us apart. Here in Canada, we have the red and blue, just like you do. In my teens, I was trained to think that the Sky is blue and Hell is red. That's an early programming for things to come, just like you guys have been 'trained' towards a political party or another.

For some of you, Trump being elected is as much of a nightmare as Trudeau being elected for that Winnipeg guy was. No difference. The only difference is in between your own two ears.

I read an article this morning that Hillary couldn't stop crying when she found out she was losing and that she started to blame Comey and Obama for not stopping him before, as Bill had said he'd do.

That is the type of stuff behind closed doors that I'm talking about...

Don't get me wrong. No one has any idea if Trump is as legit as he says. If any of you think that he became a billionaire without having a few political skeletons in his closet, I have news for you; you are as blind as a Clinton supporter that thinks that Hillary was the next Virgin Mary...

People have voted for Trump because they think that he can change the establishment. People here voted for Trudeau in much the same way.

Just remember that when ANY of those I mentioned above have their champagne and caviar, you are the one working your ass off to make ends meet.

THAT is the hard cold reality, election after election, no matter who got elected.

So please, spare me the "I'm moving to Canada" bullshit line. I'm not buying it.

The only thing we can do - aside from a Revolution like bumf**k countries do - is elect who we think will change things. We hold on to HOPE with both hands.

Which sums up into one last and tough question.

Do any of you really think that any ONE individual can change the establishment?

I'm just asking. Enlighten me : )

If you're asking if we think Trump can make changes to how things are Screwing us Now, I believe the answer is YES!
Just look how America has changed, Like our Immigration Policies and our Healthcare just for a start, All Corrupted and Ruined in less than eight years.
Look at how the oil companies managed to charge us fuel prices of over 3 & 4 dollars a gallon all because Obama had mentioned he approved those hikes to lession people using their on transportation.
Shovel ready jobs promised, instead, companies moved because Obama's taxation and healthcare demands.
Violence by blacks against whites because one man in political power, The POTUS stated, "If I had A Son". What about again One Man in Political Power Stating "The Policeman was Over Zealous".  Because is arrested a Black Professor A friend Of Obama or just because he was Black and the policeman Was WHITE!
Those are Just Some Of The Incidences I Can Think Of This early In The Morning.

Our country has changed a great deal in a shout 7 1/2 years, all accomplished by One Man!
Am I Wrong?

So if you're talking about the Changes and Affect one Man Can make With Him Setting In OUR White House, I Say Yes!
If you're talking about one liberal moving to Your Beautiful Country think he'll make changes happen in America, MOVE YOU COWARDLY PIECE OF SHIT and TAKE YOUR FAMILY WITH YOU!

I'm with Ms. G on this!  One person CAN make a difference!  A person who offers HOPE!

The American people are at such a low right now with all the political crap that has pushed us down and made us, or tried to make us, into a subservient people/land, and made us feel like we have no way out.

Trump comes along and says he will fight the "political establishment" of Washington, and that alone gives us hope for a better future.

HOPE ignites the fire inside us to get up off our butts and do something, instead of sitting on the couch and feeling there is no way out.

So,  YES, one man can change things!   tinybiggrin

I am happy to hear such things in all of your responses.

One man screwed it up, one man can fix it. I agree. But all new President-Elect wish to 'fix' what their predecessors have done wrong. Nothing new here under the sun.

But will Trump be able to fight the establishment corruption? Don't forget, he's going to deal with a Republican Congress and House of Senates.

The infrastructure remains the same. So if he just follows through as previous Presidents from the past, he is no longer a lone wolf but has to work with others.

My reasoning is as follows; if he follows the Republicans, or is tied to them in a way that does not let him change what he wants...who says that the Republicans aren't as corrupt as the Democrats? I have a very hard time seeing a double standard here...

As an example, the "Muslim ban" section has already been taken out of the Trump platform and website. That kinda says something...to me anyway...

I guess my question wasn't properly phrased. The real question is "Will Trump be able to fight the corruption and deceit that goes on inside the establishment?"

Personally, I don't see how one single individual can do it.

If we are saying, can he fix healthcare? Yes, I think he can. Can he fix the deficit? Yes, I think he might. Can he elaborate a new plan for refugee screening processes? Yes, he can. Can he throw illegals out? Yes, he might.

Can he change the corruption inside the establishment? I doubt he can, alone.

Opinions?

Do you remember that thread I did about a guy named Drake that was calling on others to stand up and fight the Cabal? (See link below)

Well, now that we have a President that wants to fight them too, with the help of people like Drake, maybe... just maybe, we can take them down.
And, there's others "up there" who will help us too, if they see we are trying to help ourselves.   :smallwink:

Oh well now, when you put it that way....um, think the corruption runs so deep, on both sides of the isle, not sure if Trump can make a dent in it if he tried.
D.C. is rotten to the core.

It would be wishful thinking IMO.

But I can almost guarantee you that Trump will do his damnedest to buck the system any chance he gets.

Already today, the MSM was going crazy due to the fact that Trump did not allow any press on his plane to D.C.
They claim that was unheard of for a president-elect and hope this wasn't how he choose to operate in the future. LOL.

To which I thought, good for him.
Trump will take/make his own path, Establishment be damned.

One way he can 'slow' down and maybe put a kink in the corruption would be to try and pass term limits as he mentioned.
If we can get rid of the many career politicians in D.C., think that would be on the right path to culling out the corruption.

----

ETA: Even with majority in Congress/Senate being Republicans, seriously doubt any kind of 'term limit' bill would be ALLOWED to pass.
The Reps are just as guilty as the Dems with being career politicians.
Why ruin a good thing, they would vote it down in a heartbeat.

@"senona"

Yeah, one of the things that irks my butt is Congress getting a lifetime of high pay, then retiring and making as much in a month as it takes a normal citizen to earn in 5 years!

That's not right!  It upsets me every time I hear that they are giving themselves a raise while we have Veterans sleeping on the streets and people losing their homes, and.... on and on and on!   tinyangry

A two part reply:

1) Why are they all threatening to go to CANADA? With all the ruckus about how they love and support illegal immigrants, the vast majority of whom come from Mexico and Central America, why aren't they going to MEXICO instead?

maybe their "love" doesn't run as deeply as they'd like us to think...

Mexico is a beautiful country, too, with wonderful people aside from the occasional bloodthirsty drug cartel, the cost of living is a lot lower than it is here, and now it's getting to be pretty depopulated, what with so many of it's citizens coming here, so there ought to be plenty of space available, in a warmer climate. So what's wrong with Mexico? Why aren't they going there instead?

2) Yes, one man can make a difference, if he's the right man. Over and above unscrewing what has been screwed up over the past 28 years, if he provides hope to motivate the despondent, as Mystic pointed out, that motivated crowd can get things done. All they need is that spark of hope. Term limits? No problem - it's a certainty that those currently occupying those seats would vote that assault on their cash cow down in a heartbeat... so they need to be replaced with more forward - thinking people. One man, the right man in the right position, can expose corruption in Congress like nobody's business, and motivate the constituency to replace that corruption with integrity. they key there is to get them replaced, then pass the term limits before they too have time to become corrupted. it's just a matter of timing.

Once you have the right congress on your side, you can move on to other areas. one place he can start right off the bat is with all of the departments reporting to the executive branch. Fire Comey. Fire Lynch, and several others, just to make sure every realizes corruption in the executive branch is no longer being tolerated. The rest fall into line and toe the mark then, or else don't let the door bump their asses on THEIR way out.

Hey, there's always an infrastructure project they can get a job digging on, right? It's not like they're being thrown out in the cold - they just have to start working for a living if they don't want to work for The People.

Yes sir, I believe that one man who works like his ass is on fire and his head is catching can make a difference.

.
Diogenes was eating bread and lentils for supper. He was seen by the philosopher Aristippus, who lived comfortably by flattering the king.

Said Aristippus, ‘If you would learn to be subservient to the king you would not have to live on lentils.’ Said Diogenes, ‘Learn to live on lentils and you will not have to be subservient to the king.’

I know this is just a joke, and on social media but it made me chuckle.

Quote:CANADIANS on social media are inviting four US states that voted for Hillary Clinton the opportunity to secede.

California, Oregon, Washington and Nevada all voted overwhelmingly to elect Ms Clinton as president.

Since pretty much the rest of the country overwhelmingly voted in Donald Trump there have been protests, including every night in Oregon, where one anti-Trump protester was shot.

Trudeau doesn't think Americans will move to Canada

However, The Independent reports that some generous Canadians are now offering these like-minded states an opportunity to ditch Mr Trump’s America and secede to the Justin Trudeau-led Canada.

Some Americans even started thinking of new names to call the newly created province.
“Washorefornia. Or Calorington. We’re fine with either. Just please take us. Pretty please?” Douglas Cole wrote.
