Yeah, it just happened tonight. At 4 AM we went back to 3 AM tinyhuh

Days are getting short alright...

Quote:If you are a newcomer to Finland, you must have realized how short are becoming the days. Actually, the darkness will dominate the following months. Nights will be so long that in Lapland the sun won't rise. In Finland, this is called kaamos (or polar night, in English).

As the winter solstice approaches, more towns in Northern Finland get immerse into a long night that can last several weeks.

I love the darkness though. I need to buy vitamin D soon, The Sun is not giving me much. It is not really even a vitamin. It is a hormone. But i call it vitamin D, because so does everyone else, dunno why.

Yes, I know that a good chunk of Finland is north of the Arctic Circle. I can’t imagine it being dark all the time like that. Yes, Vitamin D would be good. I sometimes take extra in the dead of winter here, because I can’t get it from the sunlight at that time of the year. What I’d like to see here is the Aurora Borealis. I’ve only seen it live once when I was in far northern Wisconsin in February. It was amazing, but I have yet to see it here.
