Just as a side-note,
Every Single Scottish Region voted to REMAIN in the EU. 100% of them. Every Single One!
Scotland (and N.Ireland) are now being dragged out of Europe (by the majority vote from England and Wales) against their collective will.
The sitting Scottish Government, is largely controlled by the Scottish National Party (SNP).
The SNP have commited to seeking a 2nd Scottish Independence Referendum should the material circumstances of being in the UK change.
One such change specifically mentioned was that of the UK voting to leave the EU, with the people of Scotland voting to remain.
With the UK now commited to leaving the EU, the SNP WILL SEEK A NEW Independence Referendum, and chances are that they would win this time.
I suspect that they would want to rush this through BEFORE the UK actually leave the EU, so that Scotland would REMAIN in the EU, instead of leaving with the UK then having to re-apply to "join" the EU from the outside, which would be a nightmare scenario.
Trouble is.... I think they need permission from Westminster (the UK Government)....
It's going to be a Bumpy ride for sure!!!
