This situation as well as the situations in NYC, Boston, Seattle, San Francisco, etc. remind me of something my ex-MIL (may she RIP) used to say when one of her girlfriends would come to her complaining about their husbands/boyfriends:
"You picked the motherfucker and you stay with him so what are you complaining to me for?"
Later this was shortened to just "You picked him!" because she had said it so many times that everyone knew what she meant.
Sorry London, you picked him!
