Europe has a plenty of paid protesters as well.  The same people, bused here and there, assemble mainly for footage of them to appear on the evening news with corrupt journalists intoning of public outrage over this or that.

I get it.  For some of these "protestors", it is easy money if not that much in hand.  A political party organizes the bus ride and probably provides a pack lunch for the day.  A free trip to the capital city or wherever and socializing with like minded people, plus an opportunity to act like one is politically engaged.

The big problem is that this cheapens the right to assembly and undermines the impact of genuine protest.  All of the ideological jacks that organize these tactics never think about the long term; it is all about winning the current fight and to Hell with anything else.  Short cuts can work when used in moderation; but when they become the standard way of doing things, nothing works as intended.

Cheers

Very well could be. I wouldn't doubt it.

You being up a good point about cheapening the right to peacefully assemble. If protests are going on non-stop, people stop paying attention. If protests turn into riots, everyone wants them to stop. If you are a law maker and you know the protest is all astroturf, you are just going to further some globalist nonsense.
