I'm a moderator, not an overlord. I moderate, not dictate. For as long as I've held positions of leadership, especially out in the real world, I've led from the trenches, not from the office. Leaders lead from the front, not from the rear, and that means they HAVE to be in the trenches with the troopers. Leading from the rear is pushing, not leading. I'm a member first, a moderator as an afterthought. All it does is give me the ability to get some things done that folks can't do for themselves.
From what I've seen of all of the other moderators here, they are the same. They "lead" from a position of service, not from a position of power. They - we - are here for the members, not the other way around.
Folks will see that for themselves as they get more acclimated to RN3.

Diogenes was eating bread and lentils for supper. He was seen by the philosopher Aristippus, who lived comfortably by flattering the king.
Said Aristippus, ‘If you would learn to be subservient to the king you would not have to live on lentils.’ Said Diogenes, ‘Learn to live on lentils and you will not have to be subservient to the king.’
