The lone suspect, who was wearing black tactical gear and a ballistic vest, targeted the First Baptist
Church in Sutherland Springs, 30 miles southeast of San Antonio.

gathered for a Sunday service. Witnesses reported hearing around 20 shots as the massacre unfolded,
the worst in Texas history.

The victims range in age from five to 72 and include Annabelle Pomeroy, the 14-year-old daughter of
the church's pastor, who is out of town with his wife. Twenty others were injured in the attack; including a
six-year-old boy named Rylan who was in surgery after being shot four times, his uncle told CBS News.

After the shooting Kelley, 26, had a gunfight with a neighbour before escaping in his car.
He was later found dead in another county with several weapons in his vehicle.

Johnnie Langendorff said he helped the neighbour chase the suspect.
"His vehicle was parked, door open, engine running... him and the neighbour across the street (were)
exchanging fire... "We hit about 95(mph) going down 539 trying to catch this guy until he eventually lost
control on his own and went off in a ditch.
"The gentleman with me got out, rested his rifle on my hood and aimed at him, telling him to 'get out, get out'.
"There was no movement, the guy didn't put up a fight or anything."
It is not clear if he killed himself or was hit by gunfire, authorities said...'
