I've noticed the increasing rhetoric from the mainstream media regarding their supposed poor distant-cousin called
'social media'. It's going to get worse before it gets better -not unlike this novel flu pandemic, but ironically, the current
virus battlefield is where the societal-managing is accidentally showing its undergarments.
The fog of word-smithing an opinion will always be an obstacle when dealing with all information-gathering and whether
such fourberie is issued for a positive ethic or just click-bait, they must be aware that that it can't continue. Everyone is
guilty of it.
On one hand -with television first, you have a crisp, sound-bite-riddled programme with squeaky-clean Presenters offering
the viewer stories that lean heavily on emotion and use a theme one used to find in old Western movies.
It's not real, it can't be real. The information -to be presented in this butter-patted manner, has to be managed and condensed
to fit the allotted time in the multi-subject schedule.
Perfectly-clipped time-slot-sensitive narratives are broadcast in a manner that the viewer is gently cajoled into believing they're
being informed with contemporary news, topical material that can inform and educate. Sadly, the reality is that these reports are
chosen for their reactive potential and could be days -even weeks, old.
The newspaper world is even worse. Time is important in producing a daily periodical, but column-inches are even more vital
when getting a cogent article into the content. The factual data inside the report can be out of date by the time the paper hits the
streets and to maintain a respectable reputation, the newspapers had to resort to what the television news-outlets did.
They offered outrage-narrative instead.
The BBC, the broadcaster that most UK 'normies' look to for a unbiased and fair report on a subject, recently put out a advisory
article to help those who enjoy their Blue Pill along with a scone and a cup of tea.
'Auntie Beeb' has always had a persona that is a little antiquated... no, that's not quite correct, upper-middle-class would describe
them better and I don't really mean it as a negative. I watch it from time-to-time and ignoring the current virus love-in, I'd suggest
that their ratings like many lame-stream mediums around the world, were taking a tumble.
Hence, the continuing fear-porn that drips from every TV screen and MSM website on a regular basis.
In my view, they're the snobbish, well-groomed ass-hole that turns-up at a house-rave and asks a bunch of youngsters standing
in the corner if Green Day are still trendy. Of course, the group of kids moves off into the next room without comment.
This metaphor is two-fold, it offers that the media are out of touch and that the young... those who don't even watch the legacy
news networks or read the dying newspapers, are already looking elsewhere for opinion and knowledge.
What some would say should've been their next 'customers'.
And that's where social-media steps onto the stage, a rough-and-ready arena where views and sentiment can be displayed
and the lessons -that the mainstream media failed to learn, tucked well under their belts. Incorrect information will be shouted
down and the relayer verbally attacked for the inadequacy, a veritable war can explode as those from each side duke it out for
dominance.
Then the next day (is there really ever a 'next day' on the internet?!), it begins again with sources and links held high like flags
on a battlefield. A truth is found -because truth is wherever you find it (just ask the Warren Commission!) and for a few moments
alliances are made before another theatre of operations is sought.
It's eternal, there's no gate-keeping and one-way oratory, no supercilious diction laced with menace if one shows an ounce of
dubiety. True, certain platforms are currently working with the established fourth estate to rein-in anyone they perceive as a rebel,
but just like the rave-house party, there are many rooms.
