Time Travel is Possible, Say Scientists
#19
I believe they are barking up the wrong tree, and have a flawed concept of "space-time". One does not bend space-time, one changes phase or synchronization such that one perceives a different set of particles already present in space-time that he would normally be unable to perceive. That "different set of particles" are as they existed in the past, or will exist in the future, from the point of view of the reference set of particles that make up "now" or "the present". The perception of them depends entirely on "tuning in" to them via the phase shift or getting synchronized with that set of particles. It's complicated to get the idea across, but it requires neither exotic materials nor the massive amounts of energy that would be required to "bend space-time" - if it could be bent at all...

... which it can't. That's where Einstein went off the rails, thinking massive gravity fields bend space-time. They don't. It's only our perception of what is actually happening.

I guess it's all Relative - depends on how you look at it.
Diogenes was eating bread and lentils for supper. He was seen by the philosopher Aristippus, who lived comfortably by flattering the king.

Said Aristippus, ‘If you would learn to be subservient to the king you would not have to live on lentils.’ Said Diogenes, ‘Learn to live on lentils and you will not have to be subservient to the king.’
