Should you be allowed to delete yourself from the internet?

By all means we should be allowed to delete ANYTHING about our personal lives from appearing on the internet! 
This woman is a victim of a terrible crime and the boyfriend should be locked up for posting that without her consent. 

That's really a no-brainer, if you ask me.  What's wrong with the thinking of our law-makers?  

But once it is online it is very hard, if not impossible to remove, as this sleazeball of a boyfriend is proving.
