Cubas Fidel Castro Dead - Daitengu - 11-26-2016 Well ol Fidel finally kicked the bucket .... former leader of Cuba who after the u.s turned down his request for help overthrowing Batista turned to the russians ...... and the rest is history ...... Castro kicked the bucket RE: Cubas Fidel Castro Dead - Ninurta - 11-26-2016 Good. Glad the old bastard is gone. My dear old dad always said "Iffen he's a bastard while he's alive, he'll be a bastard after he's dead, too", meaning no respect for the dead that never deserved any respect while they were alive. First I outlived Che, now I've outlived Fidel, and if I can manage to outlive Daniel Ortega, I'll consider that a trifecta, and I can die a happy man. I bet they're celebrating in Miami about now. I'd go outside and crank off a few rounds into the dirt in celebration, too, but around here that might draw return fire in the dark and all... ... then I might not get to outlive that prick Ortega! The media painted him as a noble revolutionary that seemed to want freedom for a down-trodden populace. A cigar-chomping leader that wished -because it was reported thus, his people to remain free of capitalism. However, the same mainstream media left out a few things. Wow... your right. I had to go and look at what the media was saying because of what you said and it's fairly well glowing. Crazy.. the worst thing the associated press said about him was followed with a paragraph intended to counter the negative. Quote:Within months, Castro was imposing radical economic reforms. Members of the old government went before summary courts, and at least 582 were shot by firing squads over two years. Independent newspapers were closed and in the early years, homosexuals were herded into camps for "re-education." https://www.apnews.com/5ef60f67cefb46869c5b6e5814588dec/Cuba's-Fidel-Castro,-who-defied-US-for-50-years,-dies-at-90 This article in its entirety is just crazy how they try and make Castro look so wonderful. Independent newspapers were closed and in the early years, homosexuals were herded into camps for "re-education." In 1964, Castro acknowledged holding 15,000 political prisoners. Hundreds of thousands of Cubans fled, including Castro's daughter Alina Fernandez Revuelta and his younger sister Juana. Still, the revolution thrilled millions in Cuba and across Latin America who saw it as an example of how the seemingly arrogant Yankees could be defied. And many on the island were happy to see the seizure of property of the landed class, the expulsion of American gangsters and the closure of their casinos...' Yep...! And now those who weren't around at the time and only give a cursory glance at the available information, will see a narrative that doesn't purvey the whole truth. A bearded guerrilla who's only wish was to see his supposedly capitalist-oppressed people free and who's sole-aim was to oust the wealthy -a class of people he came from and also married into, from an island only ninety miles from the one country Russia shared the Superpower status with. A Marxist-Leninist... the same ideology as Oswald. But all you'll read about is exploding cigars and a vague wave at something called 'The Cuban Missile Crisis' Anyway, the celebrating Cubans are have a nine-day mourning for him, but I'll guess the same folk who're rejoicing in the streets were told they were having a nine-day mourning. I'm fairly certain Raul won't be allowing any celebrating in the streets for the media to see, a person could find themselves jailed for such a thing, no, they will be keeping their celebrating behind closed doors. Funny though, how quickly the abuse of power and civil rights/human rights violations committed by Castro inside Cuban borders got blamed on the United States. From your link: Quote:Former London mayor Ken Livingstone said Castro was an “absolute giant of the 20th century” and blamed the US for the restrictions on civil liberties under his leadership. These people are rewriting history while we still live! Your correct, this needs an answer with the truth.. and Ninurta is a good one to do it.. If he has time. The fact that the world was on the verge of nuclear destruction because of Castro's willingness to allow the missiles onto Cuba, will be played as a vague 'possible outcome' and mainstream media will never comment on why the Russians wanted them there in the first place. I know they may trot out the old 'Well, the States had missiles in Turkey' chestnut, but MSM will restrain from mentioning why Castro was willing to put hs own people in the middle of a radioactive battlefield. Quote:The Cuba Archive which documents deaths and disappearances resulting from Fidel Castro’s Cuban revolution has documented 3,615 firing squad executions conducted by the Cuban state since Castro took over on January 1, 1959. Quote:Below is a photograph of a firing squad victim being blindfolded by a young Raul Castro. It’s important to note that Raul the current Cuban dictator who is often touted as a soft-hearted and pragmatic man has as much blood on his hands as his older brother, Fidel. Quote:More ghastly photographs of Castro’s firing squads are available at TheRealCuba.com and LatinAmericanStudies.org. Quote:In 1994 Cuba was at the height of “the special period”. This was Fidel Castro’s euphemism for the austerity resulting from the collapse of the Soviet Union that had been subsidizing Cuba since the early 1960s. Food was scarce, times were extremely tough and Cubans were desperate to escape the dictatorship taking to sea in whatever would float. Here’s a first person account of what life was like: Quote:So Brothers to the Rescue began more overtly political sorties and occasionally flew into Cuban airspace to drop leaflets. February 24, 1996 was not one of those occasions but that did not stop Cuban Airforce MIG jets from shooting two unarmed civilian aircraft out of the sky over international waters killing all four aboard. Quote:Fidel Castro admitted that he was responsible for the shoot down but tried to justify it as seen in this trailer for a documentary film about this crime.Read the other & known offences of the Murdering Animal The Left Like To Talk About and Praise Cuba as some type of Utopia because of Castro. Source RE: Cubas Fidel Castro Dead - DuckforcoveR - 11-26-2016 I used to think that the Embargo was what led him to hold on for so long. A system of government that was collapsing around the world under its own weight was NOT being highlighted in Cuba. In Cuba, it was the big bad Yankees to the north that caused their hardship. With no embargo (I thought) Castro would have fallen under that weight without anybody else to blame it on. I know there's more to it than that, but that's my $.02 Long live the King! That seems to be the sentiment highlighted in the news today (as many of you have already pointed out). It's surreal...
