Why you should always put a coin in the freezer

Quote:Have you ever come home from vacation, business trip or maybe a weekend away with the family, and noticed your digital clocks flashing the wrong time? You quickly realize that you had a power outage while you were away, but it's basically impossible to tell when it occurred or how long it lasted. It's, therefore, also impossible to tell just how long the food in your freezer may have thawed, gotten destroyed and then frozen again.
Or is it? In connection with Hurricane Matthews, which recently swept over parts of the eastern United States, a woman named Sheila Pulanco Russell shared a clever trick on her Face book wall with anyone who was forced to evacuate their home. But the trick is certainly also good to know in case of any prolonged departure from your home, and it will ease your mind about whether or not the food in your freezer is good to eat - or best be thrown out right away.
The trick lies in the magical combination of three simple, but effective, tools everyone already has at home: a mug, a coin and some tap water.
In a Face book post which quickly received hundreds of thousands of reactions and shares, Sheila explained how to proceed. She wrote: “For those of you who are evacuating from the coast, I just heard a great tip. It's called the one cup tip.
You put a cup of water in your freezer.
Freeze it solid, then put a quarter on top of it and leave it in your freezer.
That way, when you come back after you've been evacuated, or have been on vacation. you can tell if your food went completely bad and just refroze, or if it stayed frozen while you were gone.
If the quarter has fallen to the bottom of the cup, that means all the food defrosted and you should throw it away.
But if the quarter is either on the top or in the middle of the cup, your food may still be OK.
It would be a great idea to leave this in your freezer all the time. Then, if you lose power for any reason, you will have this tip to fall back on. If you don't feel good about your food, just throw it out. The main thing is for all to be safe.
Simple, effective - and definitely a money saver, because you don't have to toss loads of food unnecessarily. Please share this nifty trick on to all your friends.

Unsealed Epstein Docs. Who Will Be Named?
Posted by: Mystic Wanderer - 08-12-2019, 04:45 PM - Forum: Off Topic - Replies (3)

This thread will be used to post the names of the rich and powerful as they become public in the future.

Let us begin:

I skimmed over this article and highlighted the most important parts (named).

Quote:Nearly 2,000 pages of documents relating to indicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein were unsealed on Aug. 9, revealing allegations against a number of rich and powerful men, just a day before the financier’s alleged suicide.

The court documents from a lawsuit by one of Epstein’s accusers, Virginia Giuffre, listed new names allegedly involved in Epstein’s trafficking ring and more details around the claims of trafficking of minor girls by the multimillionaire and his former girlfriend, Ghislaine Maxwell.

The cache of records, unsealed by a Manhattan federal appeals court, was the largest release in the 13 years since Epstein’s case first began. Court documents allege that Epstein sexually exploited and abused dozens of minor girls at his homes in New York City and in Palm Beach, Florida, among other locations.

Giuffre, in a 2016 deposition, claimed she was directed by Maxwell, a British socialite, to have sex with a number of men. The names include former Democratic New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson, Hyatt Hotels executive Chairman Thomas Pritzker, former U.S. Senate Majority Leader George Mitchell, modeling scout Jean-Luc Brunel, cognitive scientist Marvin Minsky, and money manager Glenn Dubin.

According to records, Giuffre also claimed there was “another prince” aside from the UK’s Prince Andrew whom she was allegedly directed to have sex with, as well as Epstein’s former lawyer Alan Dershowitz, “foreign presidents,” a “well-known” prime minister, and “other world leaders.”

According to the documents, former President Bill Clinton had visited Epstein’s private island located in the U.S. Virgin Islands, which prosecutors believed was his “primary residence” in the United States.

Here is the first release of the document. More to come in September.

Big foot saves a 3 year old boy ???
Posted by: 727Sky - 08-12-2019, 11:47 AM - Forum: Cryptozoology - Replies (8)

Quote:When 3-year-old Casey Hathaway was found by rescuers last week after two nights lost in the freezing cold woods of North Carolina, he had a very simple explanation to give as to how he survived: A bear helped him

Quote:Casey said he spent two days hanging out with a bear. A bear! For the record, bears hibernate in the cold months of winter, and there are no reports available of bears coming out of hibernation to tend lost children. However, also on record, are many reports of Bigfoot helping lost children. The compilations of Bigfoot stories include myriad experiences where Bigfoot intervened in a lost child’s plight, and helped him survive.
So did Casey Hathaway spend two days with a bear, or did he spend two days with a Bigfoot? Could this big, furry creature, who many believe is just mythical, have cared for, and kept alive for two days in freezing, inclimate weather, a three year old toddler, who wandered off, and got himself into a perilous situation? Some may doubt such a thing; however, in the light of what we know about bears in winter, and Bigfoot’s documented interaction with other children, I am going with Bigfoot.

Something to consider if you ever have your gun sights lined up on one I would think..

Norway's Joins In With Shooting Craze.
Posted by: BIAD - 08-11-2019, 10:56 AM - Forum: Europe - Replies (3)

In my day, the crazes were mood rings and lava lamps, but now it seems the latest fads
have gone up a peg.

Quote:Norway mosque shooting: Man opens fire on Al-Noor Islamic Centre.

'A man has been arrested in Norway after a shooting inside a mosque left one person injured on Saturday.
Police say a gunman opened fire on the Al-Noor Islamic Centre, in the outskirts of the capital Oslo.
Later a woman was found dead at the house of the suspect, police said.

The suspect "is around 20 years old, a Norwegian citizen from the area," said assistant chief of police Rune
Skjold, adding that the man was now suspected of murdering a relative.
"We consider this a suspicious death... The dead person is related to the man arrested earlier today," he said.

Police say the man acted alone when he attacked the mosque.
The mosque's director told local media that the victim was a 75-year-old member of the congregation.
"One of our members has been shot by a white man with a helmet and uniform," Irfan Mushtaq told local newspaper
Budstikka.

He later told local channel TV2 that the attacker had "carried two shotgun-like weapons and a pistol. He broke through
a glass door and fired shots." The gunman, who wore body armour, was overpowered by people at the mosque before
police arrived at the scene, Mr Mushtaq added.

Police sources told public broadcaster NRK that several weapons were found inside the mosque, located in the town of
Baerum, following the shooting. The mosque had previously implemented extra security measures after a gunman killed
51 people at two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand, earlier this year, according to Reuters news agency...'

  Epstein is reportedly dead
Posted by: 727Sky - 08-10-2019, 03:15 PM - Forum: Breaking News - Replies (104)

https://nypost.com/2019/08/10/convicted-...tein-dead/

This probably does not surprise a few of us..

Quote:Convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein died overnight in an apparent suicide, law enforcement sources told the Post Saturday.
A gurney carrying a man who looked like Epstein was wheeled into New York Downtown Hospital around 7:30 a.m.
A call for a reported cardiac arrest came in at 6:38 a.m., Fire Department sources said.
Two weeks ago, Epstein, 66, was placed on suicide watch after he was found nearly unconscious in his cell with injuries to his neck.
The multimillionaire financier was being held without bail pending trial on child sex-trafficking charges.
Epstein was busted July 6 over the alleged sexual abuse of dozens of young girls in his Upper East Side townhouse and his waterfront mansion in Palm, Beach, Florida, between 2002 and 2005. He pleaded not guilty and faced up to 45 years in prison.
Thousands of documents unsealed Friday in connection with a defamation case against the perv’s alleged recruiter revealed dozens of high-profile names that a self-identified victim, Virginia Giuffre, said she was forced to perform sex acts with, from former Maine Sen. George Mitchell and ex-New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson, money manager Glenn Dubin and MIT professor Marvin Minksy.

The Red Flag Law is a Red Flag
Posted by: Mystic Wanderer - 08-09-2019, 04:33 AM - Forum: Political News and more - Replies (3)

Frank, of the Quite Frankly Show, had a guest on tonight discussing the new law for gun control that could be under consideration for being enacted into law. KrisAnne Hall is a very well educated woman in law and breaks down what this and the TAPS law would entail for us, if passed.

I urge every U.S. citizen to listen to this short interview to educate yourself before deciding if you are pro or con regarding this law.
The outcome will affect future generations to come; we owe it to them to know what we're supporting, or not supporting.

Start at the 28:23 mark

After hearing this, what are your thoughts?

As for myself, I was against it from the start. Any changes to our constitutional rights can (and most likely will) be used against us at some point in the future.

DAMN!
What exactly do any of you think causes this?

Quote:Mysterious, ancient radio signals keep pelting Earth
[Image: fast-radio-burst.gif]
Could that be those imaginary lines of Power circling the Earth, Way Lines I think they are called.

Quote:Sudden shrieks of radio waves from deep space keep slamming into radio telescopes on Earth, spattering those instruments' detectors with confusing data.
And now, astronomers are using artificial intelligence to pinpoint the source of the shrieks, in the hope of explaining what's sending them to Earth from — researchers suspect — billions of light-years across space.

Usually, these weird, unexplained signals are detected only after the fact, when astronomers notice out-of-place spikes in their data — sometimes years after the incident. The signals have complex, mysterious structures, patterns of peaks and valleys in radio waves that play out in just milliseconds.

That's not the sort of signal astronomers expect to come from a simple explosion, or any other one of the standard events known to scatter spikes of electromagnetic energy across space.
Astronomers call these strange signals fast radio bursts (FRBs).

Ever since the first one was uncovered in 2007, using data recorded in 2001, there's been an ongoing effort to pin down their source. But FRBs arrive at random times and places, and existing human technology and observation methods aren't well-primed to spot these signals.

Now, in a paper published July 4 in the journal Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, a team of astronomers wrote that they managed to detect five FRBs in real time using a single radio telescope.

Quote:In 2017, Joe Biden’s niece, Caroline Biden, stole $100,000 through a credit card scam, aka, GRAND LARCENY, was able to cut a deal with DEMOCRAT NY prosecutors and got off Scott free without jail time or probation. This was her second arrest. She was able to deal her way out of that one too.  She has also been to rehab numerous times.

Then he divorced his wife, mother of his three daughters, after a yearlong affair, to marry his brother’s widow. WHO DOES THAT?

Over the course of the divorce, Hunter drained hundreds of thousands of dollars from the couple's assets by "spending extravagantly on his own interests (including drugs, alcohol, prostitutes, strip clubs and gifts for women with whom he has sexual relations), while leaving the family with no funds to pay legitimate bills. It actually was worse than that, all outlined here:

Biden ’s daughter with Jill, Ashley Biden Krein, has been arrested several times for drug charges. While he was Veep, she was videoed snorting cocaine but the news media decided to not to publish the video. She hid out in the Veep Delaware home for a week or so until things calmed down.

Okay…..all God’s children got problems…but damnation, what if these things had happened to the Trump children????  The Trump kids are truly beyond reproach. Biden has a passel of miscreants. But the Republicans are not interested in subpoenaing all of the Biden children bank and credit card accounts, are they? Why haven't we heard any of this from the networks, or read it in the "great" national newspapers?

Quote:Archaeologists have discovered an ancient Viking drinking hall on a remote island in the Scottish Orkney archipelago.

The large Norse Hall was uncovered at Westness on the island of Rousay. Dating to sometime between the 10th and 12th centuries, the hall was discovered below the more recent Skaill farmstead, according to the University of the Highlands and Islands Archaeology Institute.

The building appears to be more than 42 feet long. Its sturdy 3-foot stone walls are about 18 feet apart. Items discovered during the excavation include soapstone from the Shetland Islands, pottery and a bone spindle whorl.

The name of the site offers a clue as to its history, according to archaeologists. “The name Skaill suggests the site was home to a Norse hall or drinking hall, and was a high status site,” explains the UHI Archaeology Institute in a statement.
