The Planetary Computer
#1
I'm putting this here, in the off topic area, because there are too many places where I could put a topic like this one.

This morning, I had a beautiful wallpaper from the Pacific Islands on my laptop, this one actually:

but there was also a little suggestion window that said that the Planetary Computer could help with disasters and help heal the environment.

Did I read that right?!?!?

I clicked on the linkie thingie and it sent me to this page here:

https://news.microsoft.com/apac/features...OCID=lock2

I learn that Microsoft is launching a new analytics platform that will collect the data reported by both scientists and earth observing satellites.

Up to here, I'm like dayum...

I keep on reading and it then says that this new platform will be built on the Microsoft Planetary Computer where the data will be analysed, worldwide and that the Computer a;ready uses AI and is already processing, analysing, accessing data from multiple sources.

Err...say what?

I click on the link for the Microsoft Planetary Computer and get to this website:

https://planetarycomputer.microsoft.com/

Quote:A Planetary Computer for a Sustainable Future

The aim: to build a global environmental network.

OK. I like the sound of that, seems like it could be a good idea.

BUT

My brain says nice, my gut says WTF... Data is data. Global is global. Two sides of a coin, always. Get where I'm going with this?

One Super Planetary Computer. There are no ends to collecting data. I'm not thinking Skynet here but control just the same.

If they can influence scientists and governments on environmental issues, with the help of AI, what keeps these same scientists and governments of using the data to influence how we live, how we go on our day to day ethics?

What keeps them within limited boundaries?

What keeps them from taking decisions, based on accumulated data from around the world, that makes our lives a living hell?

Curious mind wants to know.

What do you think of that?!?!?

I think we're fucked.
And I think we've been fucked for quite a while.

Biggest mistake EVER made by the man/woman in the street, was to invite smart tech into their homes.
Everything else from now on in is just a matter of time...

Global data, Global networks, Global warming, Global banking, Global agendas, Global Health, Global control.

Independent thought BAD.
Independent actions WORSE.

Do what the new world government data analysts and scientists say you should do.
Work for da maan.
Grind yourself into a fine powder for them to snort.
Thank You Very Much... Ker-ching!
Next.

Me cynical?? Never.

Screwed up, no?

I wouldn't say the Matrix but certainly the beginning of something that stinks to high hell, under the guise (again) of being beneficial for mankind.

Well it is remaining true to form.

Beneficial to mankind. I'm from the government, I am here to help you. Follow the science.

***raises hand slowly***

I am a big fan of Tubi TV -- free shit with commercials and they have some really good documentaries as well

And well, there is this one that I just watched that -- as far fetched as it sounded at the time --  that pretty much falls in line with what you posted. And now it makes sense, scarily so.

The title is "Eugenics to Pandemics"

And the part I am referring to is when it gets to the covid pandemic and the forced, EXPERIMENTAL va$$ine and what it may actually be used for  (since it clearly did/does not work), there was one doctor who suggested that mRNA is loaded with data -- data that can be collected and stored on a global scale -- on a global computer

When I get time, I will try and find that exact spot in the documentary, for it is 2+ hours long

I found it to be very interesting, not overly dramatic or slanted as some can be

Anyhow, after reading your post, I cannot help but wonder if this is connected in anyway to the new mRNA vaxx and what are we to expect in the future

Friends, I feel like technology where our data and privacy are concerned, even medical -- are going to a whole other level that is beyond our control. And THAT is scary

Remember the movie Enemy of the State with Gene Hackman? We're there. If not further ahead, even.

There are cameras everywhere, even on damn door bells, our cellular phones are collecting data like never before, our Intelligent TVs are collecting data, Siri, Alexis, Google are all collecting data, our computers, laptops, tablets are all collecting data, whether you're aware of it or not. Data is being collected, worldwide, like never before in our human history.

A Planetary Computer / combined with AI / will only serve to offer advice on what the best course of action is with all of that data, worldwide.

And when it comes to decisions concerning the masses, we never win. Never. It's always cuts, restraints and new alleged safety measures. All perfectly marketed to make you believe it's for your own good, when its real target is to acquire more control.

It's never on an individual level. Never. Forget the individual. An individual alone has no power. None.

And, as you say, it's always beyond our control.

It IS scary.

So true.

And a lot of that -- the heavy surveillance-- I believe became possible via the Patriot Act, courtesy of Bush after 9/11

All in the name of "National Security" -- and the people fell for it hook, line and sinker

Yes, the movie Enemy of the State is an excellent example of that   (great movie, BTW), which came out in 1998

And technology has advanced so much since then.
Of course, the public isn't privy to much of it, only what they want us to know

Now how they use the data acquired against the masses, is a question that we may NOT want to know

I would say, something like that wouldn't happen in our lifetime.
But then again, never EVER did I think we would have a Global shutdown either.

I wish I could just put stars and flags all over your post here.  This is exactly right and everyone needs to know this.  I remember seeing Enemy of the State when it first came out and thinking that if that could really be done then this world wouldn't be fit to live in.  You are spot on though, the common man has no hope of living out his life making his own choices and being anything like free.  I think we're way past the point of no return myself, fortunately I'm old but I have young children and grandchildren that I worry about.

Enemy of the State was mature tech when the movie was released. I'd imagine _some_ of what we saw in the movie Eagle Eye is possible now. There's almost no IT out there that can't be 'focus compromised' on-the-spot. Lots of concern about what's embedded in the physical layer of tech ... lots.

Lot's of concern indeed.  I'm really and disheartened by it all.  I wish I could teleport back to the 1970s...

When "they" start talking about the environment, they are not talking about the oceans, animals, air, etc.

They are talking about less of the untermensch. All that natural goodness needs to be theirs. Just like money, power, etc. We are just in the way.

If they could "clean up" the "environment", things would be better. Obviously, they are not talking about their kind, goodness no. But... others. You know?

Think how nice and natural the view would be from their beachfront villa without seeing or hearing the rabble? Even better if they could visit their approved neighbors down the way without the unwashed spoiling the mood on the way there.

They'll need a few for lawn maintenance, food production, and that sort of stuff. Maybe grow them in Kansas or someplace out of the way.

I've never tried to make a bow. I did, however, invest in a Matthews V3X 33 to hunt with this year.

The site above has links to so many species of trees.  The ones I'm planting won't mature until I'm long gone.  Maybe my grandkids if my own children would just get busy.
