Why Democrats should vote for Republicans this midterm
#1
I was thinking about this and was having a hard time articulating it, but I'll give it a try.

Why (normal) democrats should vote republican this midterm(and likely in the 2024 presidential).

I think that you have a much broader political range in the R party, you have entrenched politicians that will lie to you and do nothing, entrenched R's that will say one thing but be much more moderate or left leaning as well as the new breed of MAGA types that are new to the political arena that are probably less aligned with your centrist views, but atleast there is some variety.

Whomever you vote for, on that spectrum, you'll atleast have some semblance of america, even if your political identity is hating the conservative view of america, atleast voting in such a manner will leave something left for you to shout and scream at the sky and hate, while you are able to live a life better than 99 percent of the rest of the world.

Otherwise, if you are, as a moderate, just going to throw fuel on the fire of the radical leftists posing as your party, you probably won't have anything left to hate.

Sure, you can still scream about all the "far right wingers" as the WEF flushes us all down the drain and you can try to articulate nuanced opinions on constitutional rights as chinese "peacekeepers" lock down the streets and demand your papers.

It seems pretty clear cut to me. At this point, even someone who hates america should vote for any republican over a democrate, for the simple reason to keep what you hate alive. What is life without having something to hate?

as in mail in voting? I saw a few people walking through my local cemetary last night, perhaps I should have asked if they were from acorn or the DNC?

Shall I pose another question, If you have no faith in the electorial system why bother??

I lost my faith in the American way when my absentee ballod was disregarded among thousands of other troops during the obama cycle my votes for local srtate and federal just arrived a little to late. I have never registered nor will I ever willl again as blood dropped off of my body nor the sweat and frustration that consumes me to this day for an election process.

This isn't high school the system has been and always been rigged, no one will telll me in a manner I could believe that this shit is honest and true to the desires and needs for people that wish for leaders and people managing systems that directly effect their lives.

The majority of Democrats that I know are planning to vote either Republican or 3rd party in the upcoming mid-term elections. Even they (though loyal to their party) have had enough of the Progressive/Socialist/Communist bullshit. The policies being pushed through by the Dem controlled Congress are hitting them just as hard in the pocket as the rest of us. The only way the Dems will keep control is by rigging the elections again but I'm not so sure it will fly this go around- people are tired of being hit where it hurts: gas, food and shelter.

Okay, there's a lot to unpack here. First, why do you assume that just because someone is a democrat/liberal that they hate America? I don't hate America. I love America. There are times that I really don't like America, but one is able to not like but still love something if that makes any sense. I love America, but hate what's going on politically. At times I'm ashamed of America, but I still love it, and I absolutely will not move out of this country, no matter how bad things get.

And I'm very careful who I vote for. If I think someone is too far left/progressive, I will figure out what to do. I don't see myself voting for any republicans, as I think they are what's causing the horrible divide in this country. Having said that, I won't vote for Biden again. I hope he does not run again, as I feel he's just getting too old. I would slit my wrists before voting for Trump. At times, I think Trump is the antichrist. I'm sick of voting for the lesser of two evils. I will not do that again. I will vote with my brains and my conscience.

There are many different kinds of democrats too. So I feel there is equal or more political range of democrats than republicans. As irritated as I get with Senator Manchin at times, I think he's the kind of democrat that would make a good President. He's more moderate and common sense driven. I don't know if he's planning to run, but I probably would vote for him.

But I am not willing to compromise my principles and vote for a republican. I feel there are many more radical right wing than radical leftists. It is the right wing that spreads a significant percentage of misinformation and conspiracy theories. Many of them are rude.

The drums of COVID are starting to beat again along with a few other nasties so I will not be surprised if another lock down along with mail in ballots allows another election to be stolen... Why change the plan as the old plan worked fabulously no matter how many of the undead vote Republican.

I think we are long past the point of a Presidential savior.

Anybody that makes it to the ballot, is bought, paid for, owned, and controlled.

If this country is going to be saved, it is going to have to be done by the people. We choose who is in power, not at a voting booth, but by who we financially support.

It is your pocket book and wallet that makes a difference. Want to get their attention. Stop feeding them.

Most of us don't have the kind of money to make much of a difference. I've contributed small amounts of money to political candidates at times. But I stopped doing that because I figured most politicians don't give two shits for most of us. The only thing most people like me can do is vote. That's the only real power I have at this time is to vote. I also used to assume that because I'm a veteran, that would sway politicians more, because they all claim to just love veterans. I know this is bullshit too. They don't love veterans. They love money. As long as most of the population of the US doesn't have much money, the ones who do have money will have the clout.

I would never give a politician a cent.

I was speaking of how and where we spend our money. Collectively, it would make a huge difference.

We have the power to stop the overlords in their tracks, if we could stop following the script for our own demise.

There are several forces at work here IMO. One is China buying and stealing both people and technical advances that are developed in the West.

Antifa and BLM was/is financed by elements out of the Mid-east and even Somalia .. Somalia with Chinese backing with money. Purpose is to sow discord and distrust while destroying the very fabric of a joined/cohesive society.

The FBI has become a political entity (add a few others into the mix) used by those (the Bricks/China) who want Americans to be humbled and playing a 2d or 3d fiddle to their world domination; if a fiddle is even offered. Not just the world but the moon and Mars are also on their domination list.

Unless there is a big fallout China and Russia will join forces to conquer near space yet I doubt China needs Russia as they have already stolen everything they need to complete their goals. China will be making heavy lift rockets on average of a 10 to 1 ratio to the west so it is not just their plans to increase their blue water Navy ships which has made the news. Both the west and china's rockets can put into orbit the same tonnage yet we make one they make 10 at probably 1/2 the cost as we are continually ripped off cost wise in the west by the MIC.

For those who will be alive for the next 7 years much of this will become apparent IMO.

As far a worry it does no good. Being aware can both be a comfort or a drain on ones spirit .......but it also does not matter as what will be, will be..... as things present themselves that is the time to act.

We pedestrians have very little power to change things on the world stage as the truly evil have the money and the enforcers to carry out their dastardly deeds.

Mutual assured destruction means little when you have 300+ ICBMs and your enemy has 10,000+ and is not afraid to use them...

Food, Shelter, and safety for you and yours should be number one concern for everyone...everything else is secondary ...safety is problematic when even your own government can bust in your door in the middle of the night for saying that person born without a vagina is not a woman.

I think you are making a terrible mistake by voting "straight party line", but it is your mistake to make, so have at it.

I normally vote as far right as is available, but I'm not inflexible in the matter - I have also been known to vote for democrats instead of republicans, because I don't vote for the party, I vote for whomever I think is the best candidate for the job, regardless of what letter is beside their name.

Voting a straight party line is an indication of an inflexibility of independent thought, and while not "the reason" for our current political divide, it is most certainly a result of it. It does, however, bespeak an ability to unquestioningly follow orders from on high, so there IS that positive aspect to it, I suppose.

I also think it is a mistake to blame the political divide on one side or the other. That just makes one a cheerleader for the destroyers, whichever direction they are coming from. NO division can happen if WE do not allow it, if we do not "take the bait". and all too many of us are doing just that. I believe, and I think I have demonstrated more than once, that it is entirely possible to maintain civility and even a friendship while also disagreeing on a thing. When we sink to the level of demonizing our opponents, we open the doors for hatred and division. We create within ourselves the demons we are projecting upon the "enemy" by rising to the fight and assisting in the division we profess to be against. As a matter of fact, it is that very thing which entrenches out opposition on the other side of the divide and widens it. No one will provoke thought in another by personally attacking them - that just shuts thought down altogether as a defense response, and forces them to hug the party line even more tightly.

To paraphrase an old comic strip called "Pogo", "We have met the enemy, and he is us".

When King George Bush I was elected, I was so disgusted that I stopped voting at all for decades - and he was supposed to be "Our boy" for my side of the divide. I didn't vote again until 2016, when the nation was in extreme peril of being lost forever to The dark Side with Hillary as their front man. It was not because she professes to be a democrat, it was because she is the embodiment of totalitarian evil incarnate. One can be a democrat and still not be a totalitarian, but we have had precious few examples of that concept in recent years. Joe Manchin is one such example, but he is in a minority, which makes him stand out in that field. I think that is because he is from West Virginia, a state that is heavily democrat dominated, yet still maintains a stubborn streak of freedom in their mindset. Manchin is responsive to his constituency, a lesson a number of other congress critters could stand to learn and exercise at times other than election seasons.

Regarding King George Bush I and II both, neither off them are republican, despite the letters beside their names - at least not the sort of republican I grew up knowing. neither is Liz Cheney or Adam Kitzinger, among others.  On the other side of the divide, I cannot name but one or two alleged democrats who are actual democrats as I grew up knowing them, either. Back then, the democrat party was "the party of the working man", but they are not any more, judging by most of their office holders, at least. They have become the party of the big corporations, and to hell with getting anything done for the working people. The republicans used to be "the party of small government", but that is no more, either - they are growing government just as much as the democrats are, and in that respect I see nary a sliver of difference between the two.

Neither side gives much of  a damn for the people who vote them into office other than for those few brief months when they need to pander for votes. The rest of the time, we are on our own, and none of them are working for us, or doing what we sent them to do. AND they will keep that going for as long as they are able to pull the wool over our eyes and keep us convinced that "it's all the other guy's fault" so that we remain divided.

And they will keep laughing at us all the way to the bank, with OUR money, for as long as we swallow their bullshit and keep on toeing their party line.

I think it's a mistake to call what the BidenHarris klan is doing to America "administration", which is why I consistently refer to them as a "regime" rather than an "administration". Actual administrations give some semblance of administering, which is glaringly vacant from what they are doing to us.

Even unsullied children once labored under the misunderstanding that science matters, and believed in the mythology of biology:

Thankfully, our new reptilian Overlords are eradicating those misconceptions in the minds of the impressionable young these days.

One must understand that in this Brave New World that science ONLY matters if it is the "science" being spouted by the Overlords. It must support their narrative else it is not science at all. The Overlords will determine what is and what is not 'science", and will inform us as to the Truth via "Fact-Checkers" once they have made that determination, thus eliminating the mundane task of thinking for us entirely.

All hail the benevolent Overlords!

@"Ninurta"

I should have clarified in my comments that when it comes to local positions in my area, like city aldermen, clerk of courts, county clerk, county board members, etc, I'd say most of those positions are republicans, and have no opposition. I actually personally know some of them from when I used to work for the county. They aren't really partisan, so if I think that person has been doing well, of course I will vote for them. So my saying I'd never vote for republicans was a little off the mark.

Also, if a republican is a military veteran, I am more likely to consider that. I think it's important that more veterans run for office and are in office. So there's that. I can't actually recall the last time, if ever that I have voted a straight party ticket. That wouldn't work for the many local offices here. When George W. Bush ran for President against John Kerry, I voted for Bush. I couldn't stand Kerry, and thought of him as an elitist snob. So there's that. That's the last time I voted republican for a major office. I didn't like Hilary Clinton either, but it was one of those hold my nose and vote for the lesser of two evils thing. I had actually voted for Bernie Sanders in the democratic primaries, and I wanted him to beat Clinton so badly. I cried when he pulled out of the race.

I agree with you that voting a straight party ticket is a bad idea. I am flexible when I feel I need to be. And Trump still scares the living shit out of me. I hope and pray neither he nor Biden run again. That would be an epic disaster IMHO.

I'm genuinely curious regarding your fear of Trump. I've asked a lot of Democrats the same thing, but have so far never received a cogent answer beyond "Orange Man just plain bad" - no specifics that would lead them to that conclusion. You could be the first! I found him distasteful and annoying, mostly due to his speech patterns and "mean tweets" (but I also think there was a method to his madness regarding his "tweet trolling"), but he appears to have gotten results in spite of those annoyances. I could find nothing to fear about him, only things to dislike. Certainly nothing to justify the apparently irrational, knee-jerk hatred directed towards him by the Leftmost folks driving the party these days.

I saw, and still view, Hillary as dangerous to the Republic due to her participation and direction of the Clinton crime syndicate, her reaction to things like the Benghazi debacle, and other telltales of a tyrant in search of a war to drag all of the rest of us into with such things as her infamous "Big Red Button" comment insinuating that she was willing to nuke Russia "just because". Those things, in company with her tenure as Secretary of State and her performance in that office (why scrub 30,000 e-mails that should have been part of the public record? What was in them that was so damaging to her? WHY did she feel a need to maintain an illegal and insecure e-mail server?) did not leave me with an easy feeling that she was capable of running a nation impartially, openly, or even sanely. If she couldn't manage to run a single department of a government without introducing criminal behavior, how could we expect her to run that entire government cleanly?

I'm with you on the notion of voting vets into office, with a caveat. Most veterans possess a discipline and self-control not found in the general political population. However, while that adds weight, there are some veterans who have no business in politics, as they are more politician than veteran. Dan Crenshaw comes to mind. I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him, despite the fact that he gave an eye for his country. He, in company of some other Republicans, like Mitch McConnell, has no political backbone. They are opportunists that blow whichever way the political winds of money move them.

Lindsay Graham is another political opportunist I do not trust in the least. The only thing he is consistent about is his eagerness to send OTHER FOLKS kids to die for King and Country just so that he and his MIC buddies can rake in the dough. Most "national security" issues that politicians will touch are not about national security at all - they are just ways those folks think they can rake in money. The current Ukraine situation is just one such instance.

I can honestly say that I have never voted for a Democratic or Republican.

I belong to neither. I vote for whom I think to be the best choice on the ballot.

The last few elections have been slim pickings.

The next election may not even be worth the effort. Especially since it has all become a farce anyway. They are already in control. I don't even think they will keep up the charade for much longer.

The last few elections have been slim pickings.

The next election may not even be worth the effort. Especially since it has all become a farce anyway. They are already in control. I don't even think they will keep up the charade for much longer.

Libertarians, 3rd party candidates have been co-opted and they don't matter any way.

Local elections still count though.

I don't see a third party candidate winning ever.

But TPTB might just surprise me.

I am registered as an Independent. I don't claim loyalty to any one party. I think they are all greedy, corrupt, sycophants.

Again. I am waiting to be surprised.

For every one person that read this post. About 7.99 billion have not.
