Please don’t paint us all with the same broad brush

I do not think that all conservatives are racist Trump worshippers. So how about give us liberals a break and a chance. We don’t all bite. Okay, only when I’m provoked, but whatever, LOL! Please have an open mind and don’t paint us all with the same broad brush. We all are pretty diverse in this country after all.

I appreciate your candor.  I'll speak for myself when I say I have probably stereotyped liberals in the past, but in the same breath I have some family members who are uber-liberals, and some good friends who are the same.  I don't hate on them.

However, here's the rub (and I will readily acknowledge what I am about to say is a two-way street); you have to consider who are the leaders of the party you side with.  And, I'm sorry, but there is absolutely no way I could be a part of a party who promotes the likes of Biden, Harris, Pelosi, Schumer, Schiff, and many others.  I can overlook a lot of stuff, but outright bald face lying and overt dishonesty isn't one of them.  Now, before you launch your counter rebuttal...let me finish.

I used to call myself a Republican, and I did vote for Trump this last election (primarily for the above reasons), BUT...I no longer consider myself a true Republican (I just know the math of elections).  I have completely turned off FOX news (until recently), and avoid the MSM like the plague.  However, recently FOX has started doing something which America, AND the MSM, AND the World need to start doing...going after the "Establishment Elites"!!  (Both Republican AND Democrat).

So, right now I belong to the "Anti-Career Politician" Party, and the "Anti-Establishment Elites" Party, and I could give a fuck less what color arm band they wear because it's irrelevant.  For example, I think Tulsi Gabbard has some good things to say.  I think DeSantis has some good things to say...and there was one thing Trump said which I agree with 1000%...

"DRAIN THE SWAMP!!!"

The SWAMP absolutely MUST be drained, regardless of cost!  The future of America (if there is one) absolutely depends on this!

The monikers of Democrat and Republican are irrelevant anymore.  The terms "Left" and "Right" are also irrelevant.  There are no differences between the two once the doors close between the public and these political scum.  The "Establishment" swamp does not represent America (at all), and they have to GO!  Period.

The bottom line for me is basically this...anyone who supports the likes of a Biden, Harris, Pelosi, Schumer, Schiff or any other of these political career hacks (or similar Republicans), immediately gets dropped in the 'broad brush' bucket.  If we agree on this one point, then we're good.

That's just my honest .02

I don't know what party my friends and most of my family belong to. I don't really want to know. I just learned two weeks ago that a friend of mine goes to church. And has belonged to that same church for twenty five years.

When I hang with my friends and family, politics is not part of our conversation or entertainment.

I started out as a Republican when I first became of age, but quickly found that I could not join the party scene and became an Independent, and have been an Independent since.

I am more concerned about what people do, than what they think.

I have spent enough time around the boards to know that people rarely do what they claim they think.

For every one person that read this post. About 7.99 billion have not.

Yet I still post.  tinyinlove

No rebuttal here. I agree with some of the things you stated. Some I just agree to disagree. That’s okay. The fact that people can debate these things freely without threat of being arrested, beaten, sent to a prison camp is one of the things that makes our country wonderful. I will never take these things for granted, especially as a retired veteran, I know there are many countries I’ve been to where people do not have these basic rights.

Believe it or not, those are not mutually exclusive. I don’t want to defund the police. I don’t believe in open borders. I believe our police and border patrol need more personnel and they work their asses off to keep this country safe. We should increase funding to law enforcement, not cut it. I believe in kindness towards all. I try to live my life with purpose and integrity. I don’t believe in big government.

I believe there are extremists on both sides of the political spectrum. But I’m not some window breaking lawless person throwing rocks. I sure as hell ain’t woke. I am not some crybaby snowflake who is triggered all the time. But I see so many posts and hear on conservative podcasts that anyone who is liberal is many of the things I mentioned above, and we get called all kinds of nasty names. Oh, and it takes a lot to offend me. I laugh at politically incorrect inappropriate things all the time. So why do liberals get painted with the same broad brush all the time? It pisses me off. No, I’m not triggered, nor offended. Annoyed, yeah.

I’d say most of my friends are conservative. They are intelligent, nice, funny, and I will not dump anyone just because they disagree with me politically. Unfortunately, some of my conservative friends have dumped me. So who is triggered here? I feel like I’m not. Being liberal, I have an attitude of “whatever floats your boat.” You do you boo. As long as it isn’t hurting anyone, go for it.

I’ll paint whoever I want with whatever da fuck I want, fweedumb baby  minusculebeercheers
