Honestly going for it in life and making a career path out of doing what you love takes a certain amount of courage that I never had. My dad always told me to figure out what I loved then figure out how to make a career out of it, but I've always known what I loved but at the same time had those fears that niggled the back of my mind, the ones that asked "what if doing it for a living made me come to dread what I really really enjoy?"
I never did have the courage to risk it... Wanted to keep it as a joy for life too much :)

This tune sounds appropriate,
and this one is also good one
And yes that is some fine craftsmanship you've done there.

Ideally it would be great if other members who are guitar nuts add pictures and stories related to guitars whether you build them play them or just plain appreciate them! Stick it in this thread and lets rock! Something to get the focus off all the strife and negativity in the world these days. I think we could all use a break from grim reality and appreciate the things in life which make it rewarding. For me a large part of that is guitars and music. With those I can lose myself in playing, listening, building or composing. Its a break from the zeitgeist.
WALNUTZ:
Top picture is a trio of guitars I built out of American Black Walnut. Finished in nitrocellulose lacquer letting the natural beauty of the wood shine through. I build these guitars from scratch. Raw walnut, maple and rosewood. It would take me about 4 weeks to build a guitar from scratch.
Second picture is a dB model guitar which has DiMarzio super distortion pickups, in/out phasing as well as coil splitting. The neck is quartersawn maple with a rosewood fingerboard. Tusq nylon nut, Hipshot bridge.
The other guitar pictured is a DX model guitar. DiMarzio super distortion pickups, push/pull pots for coil splitting, has a Pigtail bridge/tailpiece combination. Neck is quartersawn maple with rosewood fingerboard and mother of pearl block inlay with a Tusq graphite nut.
Third picture is DX headstock detail. Hand done logo.
Fourth picture is DX body after finishing
Last picture just shows the incredible beauty of the walnut wood on the dB model.
I will add more - this is just a start!
Absolutely beautiful! I am envious of your skills. I have several guitars and two ukes, but none that I have built.
I believe I have one of the best-smelling guitars in the world It's a Martin DC-15ME, mahogany and to stick your nose in the soundhole and sniff is a wonder.

So.. I commend you!
I had a lot of help and support along the way which helped make it possible. It paid the bills for some time in my life and exposed me to many talented musicians and craftsman.

Those are all great songs too. Funny Green grass and High Tides was the music on my website when I had it. Love those guitars! Thank you!!

Hmmm. That really didn't sound right did it?
Thank you! Ok I had to laugh because I had a Martin D-35 and I would do the same thing!! Its the aroma of the wood and lacquer that Martin uses. You can't not stick your nose in the soundhole!!

I wish I had more pictures of this guitar. It was beautiful, played so nice and sounded great. Mahogany body topped by a 3/8" quilted maple bookmatched top. Deep dyed with yellow dye. Thin ebony strip along the seam on the bookmatch. Carvin M22 pickups with coil tapping via push/pull pots. Mahogany set neck with rosewood fingerboard. This is the on which got away!

The Outlaws are one of the best southern rock bands ever. Even though they did the dual lead like most of the rest their harmonies and the way they mixed country and rock is kind like the Eagles.
Side Note. Here's a fun fact many folks don't know, Linda Ronstadt, was the one who put the Eagles together. She hand picked Don Henley, Glenn Frey, Bernie Leadon, and Randy Meisner from different bands to be her back up band.

Oh I am well aware of Linda Ronstadt's role in regards to the Eagles. I love, love, love and again love Linda Ronstadt!!! I have had a crush on her and her voice since I was a kid. Still do!
My late wife was jealous of my infatuation with Linda.

Wow, some beauties for sure!
The one you attached is remarkable! Such intricate carvings. Definite artistry there! Thanks!

I think many a young man did. She was one very beautiful woman.
She held up fairly well until her condition started kicking in and made it impossible for her to preform.
Some where I read that I will never forget Roy Orbison said about her and Blue Bayou. It belongs to her now.

I got chills watching that. She definitely owns that song!
I'll post up a few more guitars, first will be the one I abuse the most, Japanese made Jackson, it's about 25 years old, it's reliable, stays in tune, only 1 knob, and 1 pu, no inlays..for simple guys like me..lol
I loved the finish on Mykes project, I have an amber birdseye Epi LP, pretty unique
My Parker acoustic, another unique guitar, nice birdseye back and sides, not sure what material the fretboard is..plays nice, just like an electric.
My EVH Wolfgang Special, nice guitar, built in Mexico..super flawless build, and fretwork..really good, she's heavy.
Ok here are a few. The ES 335 is a kit guitar I built for a friend.
This is my PRS. I put Seymore Duncan distortion pickups in it. Changed knobs to black and locking tuners. It had all clear hardware on it which I wasn't a fan of.
These are 3 kit guitars. You've already seen the 335. The SG was for another friend and the LP was for myself.
This is my Martin that I love. The first picture I was sending to my wife from the guitar store asking for permission
