Don't listen to them; they'll scare you off.  Really the only thing you should fear here are the aliens that come into chat from time to time. We have one that makes banners. His/her name is @"BIAD".  He/she is mostly friendly, but no one has ever dared to test his/her temper yet. So, just keep that in mind as you converse on the boards.
