Internalized Racial Oppression
#1
The City of Seattle held a training session for white employees called “Interrupting Internalized Racial Superiority and Whiteness.”  A member on Twitter,  Christopher F. Rufo, did a public records request to find out exactly what it entailed.

First, diversity trainers informed white participants that "objectivity," "individualism," "intellectualization," and "comfort" are all vestiges of internalized racial oppression.

[Image: EcR1hjmU8AE_Lth?format=png&name=900x900]

What's next? The City of Seattle diversity trainers encourage white employees to "practice self-talk that affirms [their] complicity in racism" and work on "undoing your own whiteness."

What happens after the thought exercises? It's time to DO THE WORK. The trainers ask white employees to "let go" of "comfort," "guaranteed physical safety," "control over the land," "social status," and "relationships with some other white people."

Then they go through a flow chart that outlines how white people "cause harm to POC," "show up small and inauthentic," and are unable to access their "humanity."

In case some people are wondering if they're "really white," they pass out a datasheet called "Assimilation into Whiteness." Are you of Arab, Jewish, Finnish, German, Italian, Armenian or Irish descent? You're definitely white. No getting out of this.

As @DrKarlynB  first reported, the invitation for this training was strictly segregated to "white City employees." The goal is to teach them how they have "complicity in the system of white supremacy" and must be held "accountable to Black, Indigenous, and People of Color."

How do you know when you've successfully "interrupted your whiteness"? –When you "implicate yourself" in racism. –When "other white people may be angry." –When you have stopped your "white normative behavior."

As @ConceptualJames and others have shown, the new cultural revolution is being fought via corporate HR, city diversity training, and public school curriculums. When you find something like this in your community, expose it, criticize it, mock it, and reject it. /End

I wonder sometimes if I was in a job like that, where would I fall on the list?

I'm culturally Cherokee (we speak it at home) but I'm half white.

SoOoo...

Am I supposed to be only somewhat ashamed?

Do I need to half-heartedly apologize?

Should I only feel a little guilty?

Was the silver spoon I got for having a white father just silver-plated?

Is there some metric I can use? For instance, if you are half black can you only protest for half the day?

Do I not have to kneel, but merely curtsy?

What a crock of shit....

Why don't they want people to be just people instead of having to fit into a certain box?

The last question was rhetorical, of course.

It's all about control.

My son asked me the other day about Covid, politics, etc.

I said, "To simplify, it can be boiled down to 3 things.  ANything that politicians do can be boiled down to 3 things.  Power, Control, Money."

I think they would expect you to hate half of yourself...while the other half of you apologizes and makes reparations to the first half.
Although, if we use the Obama model...his white half simply ceased to exist in the Left's eyes.

The Obama model was even weirder... all anyone focused on was the 1/8th blackness of him that was raised in the ghettos of Maui...

I mean, technically he was the first white/arab President?

Culturally, he has more in common with expatriates than African-Americans.  His public image was a complete sham.

So...

Communist Re-Education Camps have come to American shores...

Fuck 'em. If they come at me with that bullshit, it won't be the first job I quit, nor will they be the first bosses I've told to fuck off as I was headed out the door.

At work, one should be evaluated on their job performance, not on their adherence to ideology, socialist or otherwise.

Yeah, they can kiss my ass. I'm not armed because I think war is coming - although I do - because I'm surrounded by 70 miles of armed hillbillies, and it will likely never get to my door. I armed to keep them from hauling me off to a Communist Re-Education Camp.

.
Diogenes was eating bread and lentils for supper. He was seen by the philosopher Aristippus, who lived comfortably by flattering the king.

Said Aristippus, ‘If you would learn to be subservient to the king you would not have to live on lentils.’ Said Diogenes, ‘Learn to live on lentils and you will not have to be subservient to the king.’

In one sense, re-education has been going on at least for a generation in the public school system.  They wormed their way in while we were distracted by wars in the Middle East and south Asia.

I had to chortle to myself when I read this bullshit-list because of what it stands for.

In an environment that has been constantly told what to think and say, such a list could be generated
by anyone and for any particular set of reasons. This is schoolyard tactics again, the first clue resides
in the fact that it's a list, a catalogue of words offered in a controlled form of choice.
I'm surprised this out-of-date model is still used!

The second clue is that the list holds obvious trigger mechanisms focused on several self-dislikes that
the list-maker holds themselves and I believe this inventory shows -once again, the emotive conflicts of
someone who hasn't fully developed as an adult yet.

The two categories also indicates an immature mind as one can be superior and inferior at the same time.
But within the sphere of uncertainty -a trait of adolescence angst, a person can only hold one paradigm, one
set of accepted principles often given by a group the list-maker wishes to be part of.
(Think gang rules in schoolyard games.)

The saddest part are the headings of the controlled columns. 'Superiority' is perceived by the list-maker as
a negative and authoritarian, something which I'd guess the list-maker was taught at school.

Hitler enjoyed 'Superiority', ergo anyone who bullies a weaker person is oppressive and would fall under this
heading, another clue that the list-maker wallows in self-lack of conviction just as someone who is still growing-up
in a society of diverse understandings.

Yet it fails to show that superiority in many walks of life is paramount to being a successful individual and society.
Did the list-makers ask a heart-surgeon if he/she/it felt guilty in their confidences of saving a life?! Childish!

The above only applies if we accept that the list was formed by somebody who is naively thinking this way.
This list and it's guidelines also have undertones of a type of control focused on driving self-guilt and a self
-loathing towards a particular group of people, which only connecting feature is the colour of their skin.

These silly edicts are just another example how the sale of one's labour (employment) has morphed into being
a main girder in a person's life and how those connected to that employment now desire you to think.

We're around three-to-four generations in with this kind of oppressive bullshit and it's time we got out of it.

What happens when a seasonal type of novel flu comes along and puts you out of work...? Are the purveyors
of this kind of company-paid-for guilt-shovelling gonna come to your house to complete the brainwashing?
Of course not and that's what shows you it's just an agenda that has invaded the workplace.

You just work there...! It's not part of one's family-unit. Businesses offer coin for labour, not indoctrination!
Maybe as these activists get older, this crap will fade away and people and get back to doing what they're paid
for. Working for a living.

The notion of the family as a source of strength and a place of refuge has been under attack for decades.

They don't want people to feel sheltered by their families.  They want them isolated and vulnerable.  That is why ideas like "pull yourself up by your bootstraps" are pushed.  In such conditions, one is very vulnerable to the whims of employers.  And the farther from one's family, physically, that they can force one to move in order to gain employment . . . the better.

We shall know the truth.  But it won't make us happy.

Yep, they tried it with me at the newspaper business I worked at.
The managers of several departments -people who I'd known for years and enjoyed the company of outside of
work-hours, were constantly urging me to go to a meeting with others in order to understand 'work-ethics from
the company's side'.

It was unnerving to see people who would fall into the category of 'casually-trusted' realise what they were doing when
reminded that it was odd for them to discount my own opinion over a faceless business request.

I was also fervent enough to remind them of my credo:
"The likelihood of one individual being right increases in direct proportion to the intensity
with which others are trying to prove him wrong."

So I never went to the three-day courses at £300-per-head and even one-to-one threats from the Managing Director
didn't work. However, I did get the opportunity to personally question his parentage.
tinybiggrin

When the news outlet was getting bought out, the guy fleecing the company, I mean heading these courses, approached
the perspective buyers and explained what he did. They threw him out on his ear and explained he was nothing more than
a cost.

Go for it mate.  Flagellate away.  Nothing like a bit of self attention.

"There's no Whiskey left in the cupboard so I'll flagellate,
Cat O' Nine Tails feels so great,
while drinking Gin until late,
It's running out of Whiskey that I hate."

Is this on topic at all?
