Ilhan Omar & What's The Big Deal About 9/11?
#1
It's ingrained. It's been with us so long that the established media cannot fathom how their bias is being seen
as negative and why many are turning away from their poor excuse for journalism.

Trump is bad. White males are bad. Christians are bad. Western culture is bad. Independent thought is bad.
Mexicans are good. Black people are good. Muslims are good. Collective and emotional conduct is good.

It's pathetic to even contemplate these simple, lazy notions, but it's also a grand way of manipulating the
public... as long as they don't notice. Remember, today's credo of being honourable is:
'One Only Does Wrong When One Is Caught Doing It'

Those who sacrificed their lives must be so proud.

Quote:Ilhan Omar: The 9/11 row embroiling the US congresswoman.

'A Democratic congresswoman says she will not be silenced after facing a barrage of criticism
over comments she made about the 9/11 attacks - including from Donald Trump.

The US president tweeted "WE WILL NEVER FORGET" alongside a video showing footage of the
11 September 2001 terrorist attacks spliced with a speech by Representative Ilhan Omar.

"Some people did something," she is seen saying, in between footage of planes hitting the Twin
Towers and people fleeing the buildings...'

So this is news now. Not real-world events, but someone saying something on a medium that is killing
the very media that's reporting it. Great advertising for your trade, guys!

Quote:'...Republicans have accused her of downplaying the attacks, but Democrats have largely rallied to her
defence, saying she had been quoted out of context and some accusing Mr Trump of inciting violence
against her and Muslims. Here is how the row developed...'

In the BBC's usual managing of a story, they put the questions and answers in their article.
That way the word-play can carry their narrative. Let's just hope nobody notices.

Quote:'Who is Congresswoman Omar?
Ms Omar won a Minnesota seat in the House of Representatives last November, becoming one of the
first two Muslim women ever elected to the US Congress. Her family originally came to the US as refugees
from Somalia and she is the first congresswoman to wear the hijab...'

One day, the BBC will rejoice when a black lesbian in a wheelchair and having ginger hair, will become a
leader of a country. Women are so oppressed in the west, they even have to live in the same State as
deplorables.

Quote:'...Despite being a newcomer to Washington, this is not the first time Ms Omar has made headlines.
She has been accused of anti-Semitism over comments she made about Israel and pro-Israel lobbyists.
After being rebuked last month, including by Democrats, she apologised and said she was "listening and
learning"...'

Which a President can never say... especially a white male President.
You know, this is a two-way vehicle. Ms. Omar says... I mean reads from her script, trouble-causing rhetoric
and the media gets something to write about. Maybe a smart person would look into that on the off-chance
they are deliberately connected.

Quote:'...The congresswoman has also raised the alarm about anti-Muslim rhetoric surrounding her, in response
to a Republican poster that showed her alongside the Twin Towers. Just last week, police arrested a
55-year-old man in New York state for allegedly calling her office with a graphic death threat in which
he reportedly labelled her a "terrorist"...'

What the BBC meant to say -but are too family-friendly to write is:
"Addison, NY, resident Patrick Carlineo allegedly rang Ms. Omar's Washington, DC, office and said
“Do you work for the Muslim Brotherhood?,”
“Why are you working for her, she’s a (expletive). I’ll put a bullet in her (expletive) skull,”.
according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s office. The FBI stated the call was recorded.

Carlineo conveniently took the time to give the staffer his name and contact information.
Which was nice of him.
There's a narrative here that's straight out of Hollywood. Maybe Carlineo doesn't like Muslims and
his right to free-speech is sometimes 'over-the-top'. But he hasn't been arrested before.

Patrick Carlineo has a long history of writing Islamaphobic rants on Facebook and also writing anti-Muslim
attacks, along with sharing anti-Muslim conspiracy theories. His posts about his hatred for Muslims and
Islam date back to before the Trump administration and that is -of course, problematic to the BBC's
account. And that's why there's no mention of it.

We're slightly off topic, but in the interests of fair-play (sorry progressives, if that word offends you)... his
Facebook page also includes posts about his love for President Trump along with racist rants against black
people and conspiracy theories about President Obama being Muslim.

If there was only a picture of Mr. Carlineo, some optics that could convince the reader that he's the trope that
every liberal University student thinks he is. Oh, wait a moment...

Trump-loving Patrick Carlineo in... aw come on guys! does the word 'stereotypical' mean anything?
The image where Mr. Carlineo is wearing a hat... you know what it's implying, yeah?!

Anyway, back to promoting victim-hood.

Quote:'What did she say?
The "some people did something" quote was from a speech Ms Omar gave to a civil rights group, the
Council on American-Islamic Relations (Cair), on 23 March. In the 20-minute speech she discussed
issues affecting the community like Islamophobia and the recent mosque attack in New Zealand.

The comments in Mr Trump's video were taken from a point she made about the treatment of US
Muslims in the aftermath of the 11 September attacks:

"Here's the truth. For far too long we have lived with the discomfort of being a second-class citizen and,
frankly, I'm tired of it, and every single Muslim in this country should be tired of it. Cair was founded after
9/11 because they recognised that some people did something and that all of us were starting to lose
access to our civil liberties."...'

A fair call except Ms. Omar's script-writers should've left out naming a certain section of the US public
that are having their civil liberties squeezed. An accident or deliberate dog-whistling?

Quote:'...After the Washington Post fact-checked the statement to clarify Cair was actually founded in 1994,
a spokesman for Ms Omar told the paper that she misspoke and meant to say the organisation's
size had doubled after the attacks...'

'Misspoke' or as some would argue, an apology without saying sorry carried by a newspaper who's
owner is building the CIA-backed Amazon's facial recognition program. Another pass by the BBC.

Quote:'How did the row develop?
Her speech began getting attention on 9 April, when a clip was shared by Texas Republican Representative
Dan Crenshaw, who described her phrasing as "unbelievable". Conservative media outlets, including Fox
News, then started discussing it in-depth.
Ronna McDaniel, chair of the Republican National Committee, described the congresswoman as
"anti-American".

Ms Omar responded by calling some of the comments as "dangerous incitement, given the death threats
I face" and comparing her remarks to ones made by former President George Bush.
On Thursday, the New York Post published a front-page spread of an image of the attack with the headline:
"Here's your something"

The cover proved divisive. Some on social media praised it, but others heavily criticised the use of 9/11 images.
Then, on Friday, President Trump posted the video of Ms Omar. It is currently pinned to the top of his account and
has been shared tens of thousands of times.

What was the response?
Many social media users responded by using #IStandWithIlhan - which trended worldwide on Twitter on Friday.
CNN showed the clip in discussions, but then presenter Chris Cuomo apologised for airing it. MSNBC host
Joy Reid also refused to show it...'

Media companies with the same narrative...? Never! Lets just hope 'you-can't-read-Wikileaks-but-I-can' Cuomo
will give his job to someone of a different skin colour in the name of diversity.

But still, in fairness and not in the name of outrage-causing ratings, let's hear from Republican Party that President
Trump represents.
Nah... of course not.

Quote:'A number of high-ranking Democrats, including many in the running for the 2020 presidential nomination, have
come out to criticise Mr Trump and defend Ms Omar.
Elizabeth Warren accused the president of "inciting violence against a sitting congresswoman".
Bernie Sanders referred to "disgusting and dangerous attacks" against Ms Omar.
Senators Amy Klobuchar and Kamala Harris both accused the president of spreading hate.
Kirsten Gillibrand did not defend Ms Omar's comments but she also called Mr Trump's rhetoric "disgusting".
Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House, said Mr Trump was wrong to use the images but also suggested Ms Omar
had been dismissive of the attacks...'

Whoooah Nancy, this is not the time to air in-house battles against the young starlets that are after your position!

Quote:'One reply to Ms Pelosi, by film director and frequent Trump critic Ava DuVernay, which said Ms Pelosi's comment
was "not enough", has been liked thousands of times. Rashida Tlaib, the other Muslim serving in Congress, and
another Democratic Congresswoman, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, have both called on senior Democrats to do
more to support Ms Omar...'

She's just a woman, for God's sake!

Quote:'...Responding directly in a series of tweets on Saturday, the congresswoman thanked people for their support and
vowed that she "did not run for Congress to be silent"...'

Well said.

Quote:Son of 9/11 victim addresses Ilhan Omar during memorial: 'Show respect in honouring them, please'

During Wednesday's 9/11 Memorial and Museum ceremony in New York to honour the lives lost 18 years ago,
one victim's family member had a message for freshman Congresswoman Ilhan Omar.

Nicholas Haros Jr., whose mother Frances Haros was killed in the World Trade Center at age 76, wore a black
T-shirt with the words "Some people did something" as he read a list of victims' names, including his mother's.

"Today I am here to respond to you exactly who did what to whom. Madam, objectively speaking, we know who
and what was done," Haros Jr. said on Wednesday. "There is no uncertainty about that. Why your confusion?"

Haros Jr.'s comments are a reference to a controversial statement made by the Minnesota representative, who
said while speaking about the Muslim community's resilience in the face of discrimination that  "[Council of
American-Islamic Relations] was founded after 9/11 because they recognised that some people did something
and that all of us were starting to lose access to our civil liberties."

Omar's comments sparked instant outrage by conservatives who accused her of belittling the historic tragedy.
Others argued her comments were being taken out of context to unfairly attack her.

In response to Haros Jr.'s comments, Omar's office sent USA TODAY comments the congresswoman has
previously made clarifying her statement:

“In my speech, I was talking about how our civil liberties as Muslims were being eroded after the horrific attacks
of 9/11.
… I think there is a particular bias and a certain lens that people critique the words I use.
And that is not a bias or a lens that I can get rid of with one answer, with one conversation."

“To some people, it’s easy for them to not think of me as an American, as someone who would not have the same
feelings as they did as we were being attacked on American soil," Omar continued. "And that is really the essence
of the conversation I was having. We felt the attack—we were attacked.”

President Donald Trump came after Omar hard for her comments, posting a video on Twitter of 9/11 footage
juxtaposed with Omar's comments.
Omar also said she received an increased number of death threats following the president's tweet.

"On that day, 19 Islamic terrorist members of al Qaeda killed over 3,000 people and caused billions of dollars in
economic damage. Is that clear?" Haros Jr. said.
He continued, "But as to whom, I was attacked. Your relatives and friends were attacked. Our constitutional freedoms
were attacked. And our nation’s founding on Judeo-Christian principles were attacked.
That’s what some people did. Got that now?"

"We are here today, congresswoman, to tell you and the squad just who did what to whom.
Show respect in honouring them, please. American patriotism and your position demand it. For God and country, amen,"
Haros Jr. said.

Last year while reading names at the Sept. 11 commemoration, Haros Jr. asked politicians to "stop using the bones and
ashes of our loved ones as props in your political theatre." "The events of 9/11 were life-changing, life-altering for all of us.

I mean, this was I think one of the most horrific terrorist attacks that we have lived through," Omar said in a video she tweeted
on Wednesday. "My feeling around it is one of complete horror."...'
