Clinton makes appeal to Sanders supporters in historic speech
#1
Even tho Hillary has to wait until DNC Convention in July to be declared the Dem Nominee, she is already carrying on like it is official now.
Including reaching out to Sanders supporters

Quote:Hillary Clinton directly appealed to Bernie Sanders supporters to unify behind her in a Tuesday night speech that embraced her historic role as the first woman to be nominated for president by a major political party.

“It may be hard to see tonight, but we are all standing under a glass ceiling right now — but don’t worry, we’re not smashing this one,” the Democratic front-runner told a roaring crowd in Brooklyn.

“Thanks to you we’ve reached a milestone: the first time in our nation’s history that a woman will be a major party’s nominee,” she said.

Clinton won't officially be the party's standard-bearer until she is formally nominated at the Democratic National Convention next month, but her delegate support makes that all but certain.

The speech was the first time she declared herself the Democratic Party's nominee. Ahead of the Brooklyn rally, her campaign released a new video highlighting those who have fought for women's rights and calling on people to "keep making history.”

Clinton spoke Tuesday after a victory in New Jersey's primary. She also scored a victory in New Mexico and is leading in South Dakota.

Sanders won the North Dakota caucuses and has an early lead in Montana.
And the two are locked in a tight race in California.

Quote:"I want to congratulate Sen. Sanders for the extraordinary campaign he has run. He has spent his long career in public service fighting for progressive causes and principles and he's excited millions of voters, especially young people," Clinton said.

"Let there be no mistake: Sen. Sanders, his campaign and the vigorous debate that we've had about how to raise income, reduce inequality, increase upward mobility, have been very good for the Democratic Party and for America."

All eyes are now on Sanders’s next move and if he’ll remain in the race after Tuesday’s contests.
His campaign sent out a statement following Clinton’s speech that he will hold a rally in Washington, D.C., one week ahead of the final primary contest.

He has yet to indicate whether he’ll give Clinton a full-throated endorsement, but has said he’ll do everything in his power to prevent Republicans from capturing the White House.

Oh boy, what a decision for some of the Sanders supporters.
To have to jump ship and go to Hillary's team.

Will be curious to see how many go to her.
And how many may go to Trump.
Or neither.

Bernie Sanders Says He's Staying in Presidential Race

Fight on he will.....

Quote:Sen. Bernie Sanders is not dropping out of the presidential race, he told supporters at a rally Tuesday night, following Hillary Clinton's projected primary wins in New Jersey, New Mexico, and South Dakota.

He said of next week's primary in the District of Columbia, "We are going to fight hard. We are going to fight hard to win the primary in Washington D.C. And then we take our fight for social, economic, racial, and environmental justice to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania!"

The Vermont Senator was introduced as "the next president of the United States" by his staff moments before he took the stage in Santa Monica, California. The crowd, between 2,000 and 3,000 people, cheered for over a minute before Sanders spoke.

He thanked the room for "being part of the political revolution" and being ready to "fight for real change." He acknowledged how far his long-shot campaign had come since the beginning of the primary season.

"All of you know that when we began this campaign a little bit over a year ago, we were considered to be a fringe campaign," said Sanders.

"But over the last year I think that has changed just a little bit. By the end of tonight we'll have won, I believe, 22 state primaries and caucuses. We will have received well over ten million votes."

Got to give Sanders credit for not giving up!!

Besides, with Hillary, you never know what will happen with her email/server scandal
So he might as well keep going until the end
