Manchester attack latest: Two more men arrested and controlled explosion
carried out as police probe 'network'

'Two men were arrested this morning in connection with Monday's terror attack in
Manchester as investigators probed a "network" linked to the suicide bomber.

One man was arrested after a property was searched in the Withington area of
Manchester, while another was detained elsewhere in the city, Greater Manchester
Police said.

The arrests take the total number of men in custody to eight after a series of raids
across Manchester, Wigan and Nuneaton, Warwickshire.
A woman had also been arrested in Manchester last night during an armed raid on
a block of flats in Blackley but was later released without charge. 

The arrests came after detectives carried out a controlled explosion as they searched
a property in the Moss Side area of Manchester in the early hours of Thursday.

Meanwhile, the father and brother of suicide bomber Salman Abedi were arrested in Libya. 
Abedi's father, Ramadan Abedi, was allegedly a member of the al-Qaeda-backed Libyan
Islamic Fighting group in the 1990s, according to a former Libyan security official,
Abdel-Basit Haroun.

The elder Abedi denied that he was part of the militant group and told The Associated
Press that his son was not involved in the concert bombing and had no connection to

It is scary how the gap between appreciating one's 'civilised society' and the need to protect it by means

The search for the people involved in the deadly explosion in Manchester last week is obviously continuing
and currently, sixteen people from parts of the UK are being questioned.
Whether it's relevant that the majority of the victims were female, I'm still looking at.

'Fifteen men and one woman have been arrested in the UK.
They include Abedi's older brother, Ismail, 24, who was arrested in Whalley Range the day after the attack.

On 24 May, three men aged 18-24 were arrested in Fallowfield, a 33-year-old man carrying a suspicious
package was detained in Wigan, and a 22-year-old man was arrested at gunpoint in Nuneaton.

On 25 May, a 38-year-old man was detained in Blackley, north-east Manchester.

The next day a 30-year-old man was arrested in Moss Side. Police also raided a barbershop in the area
with an armed response unit, but it has not been confirmed if it was connected to Monday's attack.

Later that day, a 44-year-old man was arrested in the Rusholme area of Manchester.

On the morning of 27 May, two men, aged 20 and 22, were arrested after officers carried out a controlled
explosion to gain entry to an address in the Cheetham Hill area of Manchester.

On Sunday, two men were arrested in Manchester - a 25-year-old man in the Old Trafford area and a
19-year-old in Gorton.

On Monday, a 23-year-old man was arrested in Shoreham-by-Sea, West Sussex.

The arrested woman and a 16-year-old boy have been released without charge.


Hashem Abedi

Twenty-year-old Hashem Abedi, Abedi's younger brother, was detained in Tripoli on suspicion of links
with the so-called Islamic State group on Tuesday evening.

Reuters news agency has told the BBC that Abedi's father, Ramadan, has also been detained Libya...'

Bombshell: Manchester Bomber Was Recruited By British Intelligence

The Manchester bomber has been linked to a terror group that was secretly funded by British intelligence, a fact that has been largely ignored by the mainstream media.

The alleged perpetrator of last week’s attack, Salman Abedi, was part of an MI5 program that allowed British-Libyan citizens to freely travel to Libya to help topple Gaddafi, in exchange for becoming an informant for British intelligence.

Mintpressnews.com reports: Media reports have already established that Abedi, a Libyan national, was radicalized in the hotbed of radical extremism that Libya has become since the U.S.-NATO backed invasion that ousted Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi.

Though most mainstream accounts don’t mention the UK’s role in destabilizing and overthrowing the Libyan government in 2011 – that is, causing Libya’s current state of chaos by arming right-wing rebels who now make up al-Qaeda and ISIS – several have mentioned the link between Abedi and the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG).

When the Western-orchestrated uprising began in 2011, Abedi and his father, Ramadan Abedi, returned to Libya to fight on behalf of the LIFG. As the West sought to overthrow Gaddafi, British intelligence agency MI5 established a “rat line” that sent anti-Gaddafi exiles living in England to the front lines in Tripoli and elsewhere.

As reported by Middle East Eye, MI5 utilized an “open door” policy that allowed Libyan exiles and British-Libyan citizens to freely travel to Libya to help topple Gaddafi, even though some had been subject to counter-terrorism control orders. One British citizen with ties to Libya was under house arrest at the time for suspected ties to extremist groups. However, he was allowed to travel to Libya with no questions asked.

MI5’s ties to the LIFG go back decades. One MI5 whistleblower asserted that the UK covertly funded the LIFG, which at the time was an al-Qaeda affiliate, in order to help them carry out a failed assassination attempt targeting Gaddafi.

In addition, the Telegraph reported that “A group of Gaddafi dissidents, who were members of the outlawed Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG), lived within close proximity to Abedi in Whalley Range” in Manchester. “Among them was Abd al-Baset Azzouz, a father of four from Manchester, who left Britain to run a terrorist network in Libya overseen by Ayman al-Zawahiri, Osama bin Laden’s successor as leader of al-Qaeda,” the report added.

This information suggests that the UK government knowingly and intentionally harbored al-Qaeda-linked terrorists within their borders, suggesting that the UK government’s private stance on al-Qaeda may be different than its public stance, as the ties between these men and the LIFG were hardly a secret.

If true, the UK government would not be alone in its attempts to legitimize the LIFG. In 2011, U.S. Senator and notorious war hawk John McCain met with the group and later asserted that they were not terrorists, but “patriots.” The U.S. government further cemented this perspective in 2015, when it removed the LIFG from its list of designated terror organizations.

In addition, Abedi had been reported to British authorities years ago, when he allegedly expressed support for suicide bombings. The authorities took no action. In fact, the British government allowed him to travel to Libya even after he was flagged as a potential terrorist.

This finding prompted journalist Max Blumenthal to pointedly ask in an article for Alternet: “What did the British government know about Abedi and when did it know it? Was British intelligence attempting to groom Abedi as an informant?”

Such actions on behalf of British intelligence are hardly unheard of. Indeed, MI5 had tried the same with Mohammed Emwazi, better known as the Daesh member “Jihadi John.” MI5 hounded Emwazi for nearly four years in their attempts to recruit him as a spy, threatening him with harsh punishment if he refused to collaborate. Upon leaving the UK in 2013, Emwazi said he blamed MI5 for driving him to “the brink of madness.”

A recent comment from the Manchester Police was that it's looking like the
man who exploded a bomb at a concert, probably worked alone.

'Police investigating the Manchester bombing have found a car they say may be
"significant" to their inquiry.

Officers evacuated an area of the city while they assessed the white Nissan Micra
in Rusholme. The cordon has now been lifted and the car removed.



The BBC has also learned that bomber Salman Abedi visited a jailed British-Libyan
convicted of terrorism offences in the months before the attack.
Counter-terrorist police were aware of the visits but chose not to block them.

Abedi killed 22 people at Manchester Arena on 22 May.
Supt Russ Jackson said it was "potentially a significant development".
"We are very interested in anything people can tell us about the movements of this car,
and who was in it, over the past months," he added.

Forensics and bomb disposal units were seen leaving the area at about 17:30 BST.
The vehicle was seized at Devell House, and a search is continuing.
A 100m cordon, which had been in place since the discovery on Friday morning, was
lifted at about 20:00 BST.

"We are also interested in any information about who may have had access to the car
or who may have gone to and from it."
The Manchester Royal Infirmary remained open but people had been evacuated from
Ronald McDonald House, which accommodates families of patients at the Royal
Manchester Children's Hospital.
Police also released new CCTV images of Abedi before the attack at Manchester

The man handed himself in at North Manchester Police Station on Wednesday night and was
arrested on suspicion of terror offences.
He is still in custody, police said.

Earlier on Wednesday, another 20-year-old man was arrested after police raided a house in Harpurhey.
He is also being held on suspicion of terrorism offences.
On Monday night, police arrested a 38-year-old man at Heathrow Airport in connection with the attack.
Police said the 38-year-old is being held on suspicion of terror offences as part of a planned operation.

So far, 21 people have been arrested as part of the investigation into the explosion at an Ariana Grande
concert last month, which killed 22 people.
A total of 12 have been released without charge so far.

Police have said that the bomber may have stored items used to make the bomb in a Nissan Micra,
adding that "significant evidence" was found in the white car.

of the bins outside. A young man and a woman, covering their faces, were led away by plain clothes detectives

and a daughter, though the father is believed to be in Libya.
Ali Mohamed, visiting a friend at a house across the road, said: "I saw Salman Abedi here.

He didn't show any danger or anything bad. He just seemed like a normal kid."

Manchester Arena bomber and his family 'raked in a fortune in benefits'.

'The family of a terrorist who killed 23 people in the Manchester Arena bombing were given almost
£200,000 in state hand-outs, a trial has revealed. The Abedi family received the money over seven
years - and some of it funded the Arena attack.

Samia Tabbal, the mother of Salman and Hashem Abedi, was paid housing benefit, tax credits and
child benefit worth an estimated £190,000 - about £2,200 every month - right up to the time of the 2017
atrocity, even though the parents and younger children left for Libya in October 2016.

Arena bomber Salman Abedi, then doing a business management degree at Salford University, was
handed a student loan worth £2,258 on January 20, 2017. It was around this time he and his brother
started plotting the evil terror strike, Manchester Evening News reports.

The Arena trial heard how mother Samia’s bank account was used to pay for bomb-making kit as well
as groceries for the bomber and his accomplice, brother Hashem.  Even though she wasn’t in the country,
some £250 was withdrawn from her HSBC bank account from a newsagents in Rusholme on March 25, 2017.

The jury was told Hashem Abedi went to B&Q in Stockport on March 27, 2017, where the card was used to
purchase a Mac claw hammer, a junior hacksaw and ten blades, a pair of ‘tin snips’ and water pump pliers
for £40.99.

The next day there were two further large cash withdrawals using the same card in Whalley Range.
The brothers used pliers to cut 20 litre vegetable oil drums to turn them into prototype parts of a bomb.
The same card was used by Hashem Abedi to purchase a huge 200 amp battery from a firm in Salford
on March 3. 2017, although this wasn't for the bomb.

The trial was told Samia Tabbal received housing benefit for herself, her husband Ramadan Abedi and their six
children while they were living in their semi on Elsmore Road in Fallowfield between 2008 and 2011.
The housing benefit stopped in 2011 after the council was informed the family would be leaving the country.
They went back to Libya following the death of ruler Col Muammer Gaddafi amid the Arab Spring uprisings...'

You see...? They're not really living here in the west, it's just about abusing a soft system for monetary gain.

'...However, the family returned and Samia Tabbal started claiming housing benefit for herself and her five youngest
children from August 23, 2013. It is believed her eldest Ismail married and left the family home by then.

The family stayed for about a month at a terraced home on Claremont Road in Moss Side but then they returned to
the same house Elsmore Road in Fallowfield where they had spent the three years up to 2011...'

This usually means debt-avoidance or readjusting their income by creating the idea of a 'new' family. With pleading
and the fear of being accused of racism, the amount of children in the new household is accepted and the payments
given.
By moving home -which really means swapping with another family, debt-collectors struggle to locate the lenders.
I've seen many do it.

'...Housing benefit continued to be paid for Samia’s tenancy there until May 26, 2017, covering a period which elapsed
four days after the bomb. It wasn’t just monthly housing benefit payments, which were worth £692 per month.
A copy of Samia Tabbal’s bank statements shown to the jury showed her account was also bolstered by a weekly
£302.76 working and child tax credit and a £61.80 in child benefit.
It meant a total bill to the tax-payer of £27,000 a year (or £524 per week).

It means an estimated £189,000 was given to the family in benefits during two periods totalling seven years - not including
a student loan secured by Salman Abedi. Some £2,258 loan money was deposited into Salman Abedi’s RBS account on
January 20, 2017 by the Student Loan Company.

It swelled his account to £5,790.78. He withdrew about £3,000 in cash on January 23 and 24. His brother’s trial heard the
pair ‘hated education’ and it was around January 2017 that the siblings started to plot a terror attack...'
