Take your time to learn thee ropes. There is no rush at all in jumping straight in, and this site seems to self-moderate almost magically. I think it's a function mostly of the members that come to it. They seem to be, for the most part, more level headed than the average netizen. So your "job" may be pretty boring at times. well, almost all the time... but that gives you breathing room and time to learn what the various buttons and such do, and the intricate procedures in place that have to be sequenced to actually push one..
So, no rush. The site is meant to be fun and informative, not a job to slog to on the nine to five. While you now have god-like mod superpowers, at your core you are still a member, just as I am, and almost all your time will be spent member-ing just as before rather than mod-ding.

@"BIAD" - I had the brown envelope stuffed with cash ready for you, but as I was handing it to the courier I realized that all I had around here to stuff it with was Monopoly money, and thought you might notice that if you looked closely, so I had second thoughts and snatched it back from the courier at the last minute. I've started a donation jar at the local bar where all the crime lords gather, and am waiting for it to fill so that we can get that envelope to you. So far, we have collected an IOU, a paper clip, and a wad of chewed gum with some hair in it. Stay tuned, and keep your hopes up!
