Yup, sundog. If you follow it, you can see a weak circular halo around the sun. Halos are caused by stratospheirc ice crystals, and the interaction of sunlight with them.They form about 30 degrees away from the sun, and sundogs form at the points (usually 2, directly opposite one another around the circle of the halo) where the ice crystals are properly positioned to give a prismatic effect to the observer, breaking the light into rainbow components.
ETA: looking at the photos again, there is actually a double halo around the sun - one closer to the sun, and the one with the sundogs in it.
