John Lear Has Passed

I first became aware of John in the pre internet days when researchers used to communicate via BBS (bulletin board systems) and I downloaded his John L.ear hypothesis.

In this interview with George Knapp, John explains how he came to write "The Lear Hypothesis "-



Later on, I got to meet him in person when he and Bob showed up unannounced at "The Ultimate UFO Conference" held at the Lil Ale Inn in Rachel.

He was very nice and always gracious to strangers with questions.



I was also on ATS when John was there and after he got banned and also his mining partner Ron Schmitt (Zorgon) got banned shorty for defending John. 
Right after that Ron decided to start his own forum (Pegasus Research Consortium).  Ron was pretty impressed with how I dealt with debunkers on ATS politely with logic and pointed out how they were wrong. He emailed me asked me to help start his new forum which I did.

I also got to meet Bob at the Rachel conference and just engaged in small talk as he tried to eat his lunch, while people gathered around him asking UFO questions.

Bob was not scheduled to speak there, but the crowd around him asking questions got bigger and bigger and sort of pushed him up on the stage to answer questions.

Last year John posted on his facebook page that early on Bob had given him copies of his diplomas from the schools he attended for safe keeping.

Later on when they became important he went to his file cabinet and they were missing along with several other important documents.


Early on, John was quite the UFO activist in Las Vegas -





In later years John posted beliefs in some rather crazy subjects (such as people living on Venus), but I never knew him to be a liar.

I know for a fact he saw what he said he did along with Bob Lazar and Gene Huff along with their wives out at Area 51.

I've seen you over there at Pegasus . Ron invited me over there just before he got booted. I haven't been there in along time , and something just told me to check it out last night. 
My wife and I made it to Roswell last summer and were planning on going to the Lil Ale Inn, but got side tracked .
