(It was first due to my Volleyball smash-shot (which is called a Spike) as I inadvertently managed to knock out a young lady on the opposing team with it once, and later it became emboldened/reinforced as I embraced the new wave punk music culture and got myself a Spikey haircut!)

Ah, those were the days! (hair!)
