I don't read the "news" in general. I just wait for the "shares" to hit my FB feed. All at the same time. From the same people.
A poster on another forum called them wind up monkeys with the cymbals. It's kind of amazing how well it works. Like clockwork.
It is accompanied of course by the appropriate amount and type of emotional trappings. Just like the news casters on the local outlets.
How much goes on in the world that we never hear about? Obviously the "news" is simply an outlet for an information campaign so they miss tons of stuff. With the 24/7 news cycle, you think they could fit some in.
