I think that's another difference - between "Drag Queens" and "cross dressers". I have never in my life met a drag queen who is conservatively dressed. They ALL seem to be pretty... flamboyant. I think it's part of the persona. Cross dressers seem to be a different breed, and most seem to just want to wear women's clothes and try to pass unnoticed, which flamboyance is anathema to.

I've had several gay friends - this is how I know you can't catch the gay - and at least one of them is all about the drag queens. Had his office festooned with images of drag queens that he had painted himself. He is pretty artistic, in the grand scheme of things. But even he didn't go all flamboyant when he entered the office "Miss (insert company name here) Pageant. He won, by the way. that's office politics for ya, I reckon. Made him so proud that he kept the winner's banner, or bandoleer, or ribbon, or whatever those things are called, draped across his desk until the office closed down. And the tiara. Kept that damned tiara on a place of honor on his immaculate desk.

Hell, even I wore a dress to work once, and I'm not a cross dresser. A bunch of us managers got together and had a "Managers in dresses" day to improve office morale. There was betting going on about whether we would actually do it or not, and all but one of us did. One guy chickened out, even though the Boss went so far as to bring one of her own dresses in for him to wear. Grace looked at me pretty crooked when I asked if I could borrow one of her dresses... and if I can survive that, I can survive anything! I didn't shave off my beard, and I still wore my tactical boots, but dayum I have nice legs! I've not had the urge to wear women's clothes before, nor since. It DID raise office morale - especially among the winners in the betting pool - and there was much mirth to be had over it for weeks after.

The women managers did not wear dresses that day. Wimps.

My point is, you cannot catch the gay, you cannot catch being a cross dresser, and I'm pretty sure you can't catch the transgender. I doubt it will damage any kids to that point, it's just a bunch of flamboyant drag queens trying to make a statement. If the kids have learned anything at home, then seeing one ain't gonna be a shock to their system.

The matter of this particular individual being a pedophile is more serious. Those types are, generally, banned from being around children - potential new victims - for the rest of their days upon conviction. They cannot, for example, live within a certain distance of a schoolyard, and have to register in most jurisdictions on a public registry. So I have to wonder how this ever happened I the first place, regardless of the lifestyle choices of the individual. I also wonder if they are back in prison now on a second or third strike stemming from this incident.

.
Diogenes was eating bread and lentils for supper. He was seen by the philosopher Aristippus, who lived comfortably by flattering the king.

Said Aristippus, ‘If you would learn to be subservient to the king you would not have to live on lentils.’ Said Diogenes, ‘Learn to live on lentils and you will not have to be subservient to the king.’
