You're seeing it also.   It's creepy.   How long will it be before my mouth editor fails and I say something totally unacceptable like, "I'm not a member of the Church of Vaccinology" to some doc?

I was classically trained in science. Physics and Astronomy, specifically. University of North Carolina, 1994. They hammered into us what is, and what is not, "science", so that we did not make those mistakes, and so that we did better science. As a matter of fact, I actually took a class for an entire semester on the differences between science and religion.

Now they are violating each and every one of those differences, blurring them, and I believe in my heart it is intentional. We are witnessing the birth of a new religion, and the death of actual science.

it started when scientists started "finding" the solutions their financial backers wanted them to find, rather than pursuing the objective Truth, in an effort to secure even more funding for themselves. Then their financial backers, the political priesthood, started abusing the alleged "scientific findings" so produced to promote agendas that were not in line with objective Truth, and factual evidence.

Now it has come to the point that in order to get more parishioners into their Church of Science, Political, they are simply urging people to "follow the science" without even knowing what science is, and what is science. "Just believe" is their mantra, just as it is in any other religion. Just believe whatever you are told, don't investigate for Truth, and all will be well. Trust us, we're priests. we wouldn't lie to you.... and don't forget to drop some money in the collection plate.

One of the core differences between science and religion is what supports them, what their foundation is. Science is supported by experimentation and objective fact-finding based upon concrete observation. Religion is based on faith, belief in what one cannot see. "Faith" is the certain knowledge, without evidence, that those unseeable things truly do exist. The two are not incompatible. They answer different questions, and different needs. Science answers "how", where religion answers "why". One person can be both religious and a scientist, because they are entirely different areas of inquiry. They neither cross nor meet. "Creation Science", which I blame for initiating the blurring of the lines, is in reality neither science nor religion.

Now that blurring of the lines between science and religion initiated by those crazy "Creation Scientists" is being hijacked by politicians, for political ends, and science and religion will both die if someone doesn't rescue them from the clutches of Politics.
