France fuel protests: PM Philippe 'to halt fuel tax rise'

'The French government will suspend a fuel tax rise which has led to weeks of violent protests, local media report.

He was actually flexing his muscles as the assumed new leader of the European Union due to Merkel stepping back
into the shadows because to her own waning popularity. The next couple of weeks will involve damage-recovery
from the rioters' actions and his own Napolean-like pompousness.

In regards of the electric car issue, I think it was a politcal snub towards Saudi for siding with Trump against his stance
on the EU's investments in Iran. Of course, most of those behind the goggles and masks that wrecked areas of Paris
could well be the 'migrants' France let in.
