US tourist raped in central London after 'being kicked out of taxi when her friend was sick'.

'Police are hunting a man who brutally raped a young American tourist near Piccadilly Circus in central London.
The 22-year-old woman, who was on holiday in the capital, was kicked out of a taxi due to her friend being sick
in the early hours of Sunday, June 3.

She said she has “no recollection” of what happened then, but CCTV footage shows the friends walking with
two unknown men down Haymarket at 3am. One of the men is seen carrying the victim to a nearby doorway,
where police believe she was subsequently raped.

The woman took herself to A&E the next morning where doctors examined her.
Police officers spoke to her there and an investigation was launched by the Child Abuse and Sexual Offences
Command.



Detectives have now released a CCTV image of a man they wish to question in connection with the attack.
A Scotland Yard spokesman said: “Officers spoke with the woman -an American national who was visiting
London on holiday - at the hospital.

“She recalled being told to get out of a taxi in the early hours of the morning after her friend had been sick,
but had no recollection of subsequent events prior to waking up and seeking treatment for her injuries.
“Analysis of CCTV showed the woman in the company of her friend and two unknown men in Haymarket,
at around 3am on Sunday June 3rd.

“One of the men is seen to carry the woman to a nearby doorway, where the available evidence suggests
she was raped.”...'

London stabbing leaves boy, 15, CRITICAL after being knifed in chest.

A boy is fighting for his life after being knifed in the chest in the latest violent incident to rock London.

'Cops scrambled to Chessington, in the London borough of Kingston, after reports the teenager was stabbed.
The boy, 15, suffered a stab injury to the chest.
He is now in a critical condition following the attack at around 5.30pm yesterday.

No arrests have been made.
A crime scene remains in place as police launch an investigation.
The Tolworth and Hook Liberal Democrats said in a statement: "Police say that there is no risk to the public as
it appears to be targeted. "Our thoughts are with the victim and his family."



A local in the area told Get Surrey: "Something needs to be done about knife crime.
"The police worked tirelessly until the early hours last night and are patrolling the area still today."

It is the latest in a string of violent incidents that have hit the capital.
On Tuesday Met Police found a man had been stabbed multiple times in Plumstead, with the victim left in a serious
condition. Before then, a man was fatally knifed near Turnpike Lane station.
The force is investigating over 70 murders in London this year...'
