The timing seems convenient. Maybe they think Putin is about to drop something worse that he's uncovered about the Biden family's dodgy dealings in Ukraine, and directing interest back towards the laptop is their way of getting ahead of it.

Also, I wonder what really went on in Kazakhstan? Why did Putin invade Ukraine so soon after? I think we are missing some key pieces of the puzzle.
