Folks are going to screw around not being firm enough, that is going to embolden the enemy (whomever the enemy of the day or region is), and that in turn is going to either necessitate a hard core crackdown, OR result in an enemy victory.
It all starts because folks have become too pussified, and are now unable to simply stand firm.
Their inability to simply stand their ground is going to necessitate harsher measures down the road, and I don't think it's too far down the road. Just a couple more miles...
