Obviously, it is a debated subject. No worries, that is part of science. Different ideas are proposed and others test them. Some make it, some don't. In this specific episode there were "experts" providing arguments for and against early Norse exploration of the interior US. Pre-Columbian.
One arguing against the idea, said there are far-right groups in the US who champion the idea of early Norse exploration. That is why it is a dangerous discussion and needs to be dismissed.
Amazing! Instead of sticking to matters of evidence one way or another, we need to be cautious of neo-nazis. That is the purpose, apparently, of science now. To be socially responsible above all else.
