I felt a little sad this morning, when I accompanied my wife to pick-up my mother-in-law's pension.
A week ago today, I went to the post box to pop in a birthday card for a relative and my wife went inside
the village shop-cum-post office to attain the weekly pension. Dropping the card into the red slot, I looked
at a newspaper 'A Board' or meshed plaque that holds a newspaper announcement.
(Like one of these, but bolted to a wall.)
Flapping in the breeze was a large sheet of printed paper from the place I used to work for many years ago.
The announcement...?
'A One Year-On Lockdown Special'
A Souvenir Edition.
See newsagent for details.'
A week later, I looked at the weather-worn advertisement and realised again how a flu had been politically hijacked
and had helped to keep some medias afloat.
Sad.
