That was my exact thought reading this, if they shut the door and said we're keeping the nukes we have a problem. Although I find it hard to believe the US would let them go quietly. That could be WW3's trigger right there...

Easy solution.  Put timers on the nukes and/or a coded remote detonator and remove the allied armed forces, embassy personnel and slap a travel ban.

Watch the fireworks from a static sat.

Yup. And then just set up the airbase that used to be at Incirlik in Greece and festoon the Greek countryside with nuke silos just like the ones that are now smoking ruins in Turkey. I bet Greece would be glad to have the business - and the American money that follows it.
