Well, I believe that our wonderful Royals and... Ex-Royals-to-be should be looked after and cared for in the manner to which they have been accustomed.
How dare these (mere) colonials imply that the cost of keeping our beloved overlords safe should fall on their own shoulders!
I blame the US gun culture!
If the US didn't have weapons on every street corner and in every concealed pocket then our wonderful superiors could be protected with nothing more than a shake of a smartly brandished umbrella and a strongly worded rebuff.
